Power Through

I can't count the times that Hellary Clinton, Bill Clinton, her numerous surrogates, and the talking dunderheads in the obliging media have used the term "power through" to describe what Hellary was trying to do last week when she attended the 9/11 memorial ceremonies. She supposedly had a previously-diagnosed case of pneumonia and, despite this well-circulated term suggesting her metaphoric vigor (like a power fullback plowing through the line) ... ended up having a "health episode" which I will leave it to you to recall visually.

Now, she just used this term again today in North Carolina as she, after a three day convalescence, is back on the campaign trail saying that "I had a cough that turned into pneumonia and I thought I could 'power through' it." Barf! The use of this term has obviously been panel-tested ... put out as a talking point to the lap-dog media ... and implies that she is gutsy and resolute. However, since she went all wobbly on 9/11, she obviously didn't "power through" things very well. This term is clearly a lot more gutsy and resolute than she.

Pelosi Redux

Paul Ryan talks a good game ... but his performance on the field is sub par. When Ryan took over as Speaker of the House last fall he promised (read my lips) that he would follow "regular order" and pass a series of budget resolutions funding each department of our government separately ... obviating what had been the Democrats' strategy of leaving everything until the last minute. He hasn't done that ... for reasons one can speculate on ... but, as a consequence, the House is once again faced with passing an omnibus budget resolution which probably will be another Nancy Pelosi Christmas tree ... laden with billions of dollars of profligate spending. That is, if it is passed at all ... and, if not, another government shutdown looms ... see: Breitbart Article.

Yes, Republican Speaker John Boehner ran things between Pelosi and Ryan and he was no better at returning to "regular order." I guess that this means that irregular order is now regular order because it  provides so many opportunities for both parties to spend and spend ... although bad for our country, good for these sleazy politicians. This is another sad commentary on where we are now politically ... and why someone as marginal as Donald Trump can now have a shot at the presidency. Whether he will fix things is still a question, but we do know that the Democrats won't. "The fault dear Brutus lies not in the stars ..."

Hellary vs. Hillary

I have been castigated by many for calling Hillary Clinton "Hellary" ... but I do believe I am justified in this moniker. This woman has two distinct personalities ,,, Dr. Jekyll and Mrs. Hyde if you will ... or her outside self and her inside self. Her outside self we all know and many love. It is her inside self, her Mrs. Hyde, that has been mostly hidden from public view. We have had a few hints of this dark side ... like her supposed swearing like a sailor or when she threw the ashtray at Bill in the White House or how her staff would hide in their offices when she came down the corridor or how her secret service detail considered this duty as punishment because of the shabby treatment she visited on them.

But I just came across a narrative of how she behaved after the Matt Lauer interview last week in which she was embarrassed with a few tough questions. This narrative came as a comment in the latest Diplomad blog posting and, if true, it is even frightening. You can see it in situ by going to Hill's Ill and reading the comment from Teri ... or, in case it gets scrubbed, I have reproduced her "inside" tirade after that Matt Lauer interview below:

Hillary’s meltdown included throwing a water glass at a staffer- narrowly missing her head, and demanding Matt Lauer be fired! She was overheard threatening executives at NBC saying “If I lose, we all go down and that Fascist Fuck will have us swinging from nooses! What the fuck is wrong with you idiots?” 

It is reported Hillary then screamed at everyone for close to an hour and staffers felt like she was having a “Hitler-like rage down”. 

Calls were made to New York Times, Washington Post and Huffington post and Twitter executives with orders to “Crush Matt Lauer”. As you can easily see with all the headlines from these puppet MSM sources, they are completely bought and paid for. 

Hillary also screamed that she wanted Matt taken off the October debate… Let’s see if that command is met. My bet is that it will be. 

Staffers at HRC campaign report that they scared of her, and one described Hillary as “an out of control psychopath”. 

Since Hillary does not allow any staff to have cell phones when she is there, no footage is available, but Hillary is in full frenzy now. She has made it clear that she wants Matt Lauer to be “persona non grata for the rest of his days on earth“. 

Donna Brazile was singled out by Hillary during the rant. Donna was told “You stare at the wall like a brain dead buffalo, while letting fucking Lauer get away with this betrayal? Get the fuck to work janitoring this mess- do I make myself clear???”

Is this a factual account? (I would love to know the original source or sources of this description.) My spider senses tell me that it is ... and that is why I have reproduced it here. It jibes with first-hand stories I have heard about the "inside" Hellary. It also reflects more decorous accounts of Hellary's dissatisfaction with the Matt Lauer interview such as this one in the Daily Mail.

If this woman is capable of this kind of rage with her subordinates ... yet is solicitous with her peers, her press and her public, then I believe she richly deserves my "Hellary" tag.

Hellary Clinton it appears has "pneumonia" ... this is why she collapsed halfway through the 9/11 ceremony on Sunday. Now, many other Democrat operatives also have pneumonia ... it's goin' 'round ... Senator Chuck Schumer, Campaign Manager Robbie Mook, and others in her Brooklyn campaign headquarters ... see: People Magazine. Boston radio host, Howie Carr, has compared this pneumonia echo to the "I am Spartacus" scene in the Kirk Douglas movie where all the escaped slaves step forward with this same avowal to protect Kirk.

But the real 64 million dollar question is: Does Huma Abedin also have pneumonia?

I have another skeptical comment about Hellary's health problems. Her persistent and serious coughing has been attributed to "seasonal allergies." Now, since this malady was first evidenced in her public appearances this last January 25th ... exactly what season are we talking about? It has been with her now for three seasons?

Today's Word

Very descriptive adjective for that candidate who just categorized many Americans as belonging to that"basket of deplorables."

NFL

The National Football League (NFL) got none of my TV eyeball-time on Sunday ... nor is it likely to coax me back anytime soon. This is because this Congress-created monopoly has done nothing to nip in the bud the grotesque Black Lives Matter protests during the playing of our national anthem and our honored remembrances of 9/11. Four Miami Dolphin players "took a knee"  on Sunday and one Kansas City Chief raised his fist during our Francis Scott Key musical paean. (Their names are unimportant.) Yes I know these babinzos have every right to protest against their real and imagined slights by our nation ... independent of the millions of dollars they get annually to run around a grassy field. But I also have the same right to call them uneducated boobs and refuse to frequent their advertisers or appreciate the fans who grease their palms.

The NFL is one of the "circus" parts of the strategy that governments use to keep their people pacified, viz, "bread and circus." But I am growing out of such pampering. I've got other things I can do with my Sundays. And I have other reasons ... because of his looking the other way during Colin Kaepernick's protests, his shoddy treatment of the Patriot's Tom Brady, his disallowing the Dallas Cowboys to wear memorial insignias for their slain Dallas policemen, his denial of a player to memorialize 9/11 on his football cleats (see: Breitbart Story) and his generally poor administrative talents ... NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is not loved by many thinking former football fans ... including myself.

So I will wage my puny little protest and eschew this "circus" entertainment that I have in the past so much enjoyed ... until such time as Goodell is gone and the NFL wises up. Until then NFL, for me, stands for nudnicks, flakes and losers.

Pooh Pooh

I have written in the past about my (and others') concerns regarding Hellary Clinton's health problems ... see: Sicko?, Devine Intervention, and I Robot. Most of my liberal friends, who are emotionally committed to electing this woman, have reacted with either pooh poohs or by questioning Trump's health as well. And Hellary has had other incidents since I last expressed my concerns. I won't detail them here as most of you who are awake know of what I write. But today at the 9/11 memorial service in downtown Manhattan, Hellary had another "health episode" and had to leave this ceremony early ... possibly fainting ... see: Fox News Coverage.

The evidences of this woman's frailty are so obvious now that their ramifications need to be explored. What if this woman becomes so sick or incapacitated between now and Election Day that it becomes clear that, even if elected, she would be so diminished that she could not govern? (Pooh, pooh!) What happens? Don't forget early voting has already started in some states ... with more coming on stream every week. Do the Democrats just carry on like what happened in Weekend at Bernie's?  Do they put a wig on Joe Biden and change his name? Does Tim Kaine step up and become the nominee? Perhaps they can postpone the election until she gets better? What if she doesn't? What does the Constitution allow under these circumstances?

I will make a rash prediction ... that she will not participate in all three presidential debates ... maybe not even one ...

Afterward: Sarah Silverman says that anyone questioning Clinton's health is an a**hole. Can I be this and also be in the basket of deplorables?

The Worm Turns

There is a famous apocryphal quote that says, "A conservative is a liberal who has been mugged." Well now we are discovering another population who may be rethinking their politics -- university information professionals in California. Apparently the high (and rapidly rising) cost of Obamacare for this gaggle of Golden State IT workers is forcing layoffs there ... ironically to be replaced by immigrant h-1b workers, mainly from India. These cost savings for those higher educational institutions allows them to keep their heads above the rising fiscal waters, at least for a while ... see: Breitbart Article.

It is not difficult to forecast the results of these employment dislocations ... more Trump votes among these formally liberal Californian ITers. This layoff trend may even metastasize to professors and university instructors ... then these uber-liberal pedagogues would also be forced to rethink their politics and their classroom messages. Then the worm might finally turn.

According to Hellary Clinton, because I now support Donald Trump, there is a good chance that I am a xenophobe, a homophobe, a sexist, or a racist ... or, as she would like to shame me, one of the "basket of deplorables" ... see: CNN Story. (I think she might have also tagged us as being Islamophobic.) Now there is a slight possibility that I might have one or more of these "deplorable" traits ... but I am not stupid. I will not vote for this evil woman just to assuage myself of some smidgen of guilt for my supposed prejudice. Unfortunately, there must be many Americans who would pull her lever as penance for their thought sins ... otherwise why would she trot out this ugly campaign tactic?

To me, this attempt to emulate her predecessor and further divide Americans is nothing more than a sign of desperation on her part. The polls have tightened up and even a few free-thinkers in the liberal media are asking her tough questions. Even though she can still raise oodles of "access money" on Martha's Vineyard, Southampton and Hollywood, she can only draw sparse audiences wherever she tries to rally her base ... suggesting that, unless the graves open up again like they did for Obummer, her voter turnout may not come close to matching Trump's ... whose rallies are always overflowing with enthusiastic supporters.

No, Hellary, you will not cow me into voting for you ... nor will I try to buy access to your criminal enterprise. You typify almost everything that is wrong with our political system today. Although Donald Trump also has his share of faults, next to you, he is St. Peter.

Inflation

Central banks around the world are pulling out all stops to try to counter what has been a persistent global deflationary trend. ... at least in developed economies. They have tried Quantitative Easings 1, 2, 3, etc. ... purchasing vast quantities of government debt and now even private debt to increase the money supply ... clearly to the point of diminishing returns ... since all this cash is not causing the sleeping giant of inflation to awaken. Of course, with all this debt on their balance sheets, they have also forced interest rates down ... even into negative territory ... so that all this debt doesn't crush their income statements and, more importantly, in an attempt to disincent private savers ... since saving negates spending which, in turn, is necessary for inflation.

What have been the consequences of all these central bank actions?

- I would argue that these central-banks' easy monetary accommodations have given the fiscal side of governments the license to spend beyond reason .. feeding the yaws of these ever increasing central banks' debt issuances. This will surely have longer-term consequences.

- Raising interest rates, particularly in the United States, has been like a trip to the dentist ... something put off until absolutely necessary. Don't forget that most 2015 projections had our Federal Reserve Bank raising rates four times in 2016. How many times so far? Zero! And that tooth is throbbing more and more. And I predict it won't happen before the election either ... since this might damage Hellary's chances. In December, it is more likely, especially if Trump is elected.

- Of course raising interest rates attracts capital from around the world which strengthens the dollar which then hurts exports and helps those countries importing here. Thus, the U.S. balance of payments gets even worse than it devastatingly is. This might be OK with Clinton but wouldn't sit well with Trump. He might lean on the Fed to weaken the dollar (not necessarily with interest rates) to help bring manufacturing back to America. The Fed might resist which would open another can of worms -- more federal government control over the Fed.

- The jury is out about what happens with government spending and deficits after the election. Both candidates have promised increased infrastructure spending and, Trump, a beefing up of our military ... while Hellary will open the spigots on social transfer payments. Taxes will likely go up under either candidate but, I would hope, under Trump, we might get real tax reform which might then spur our economy enough to reduce deficits. In Trump's case the Fed might be able to move more into the background except Trump might push to lengthen the term of our government debt. Clinton would still require a very accommodating central bank.

This is all very complicated with many fiscal and monetary cross currents. I wish I had the confidence that any of the world's central banks knew exactly what they were doing ... including our own. However, I think that one consequence is very likely to occur. Once all these monetary gurus have coaxed the inflation genie out of the bottle, that it will not stop at their targeted 2%. All this money in hiding around the world will then start sloshing around and may well sink a few of the more injudicious ships of state.

Settled Science

Over 97% of 250 doctors and surgeons who answered an American Association of Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) survey concerning Hellery Clinton's health ... answered that they did not believe that such questions were politically motivated ... meaning that only 3% thought that they were. The remaining answers were either definitive in saying that they were seriously concerned about Clinton's health (71%) or that concerns may be overblown but still should cause her health records to be made public (20%) or had no opinion (6%) ... see: PR Newswire Story.

Given these percentages, can we then conclude that Hellary is very likely having serious-enough health problems that they should be publicly revealed. And can we say that this is ... "settled science"?

I Robot

Hellary Clinton is appearing more and more programmed these days. Clearly her health issues require a phalanx of aides ... ready to spring into action with water (or whatever?), powerful throat lozenges, and maybe even an injection of diazepam (anti-seizure medication) as soon as her enfeebled health requires. Now we learn that either she is hard of hearing ... or she was being coached the other night when answering Matt Lauer at the Commander-in-Chief Forum. It has been reported that she was wearing a flesh-colored ear bud which, as confirmed by the NYPD, was receiving radio signals as an "inductive ear piece"... presumably helping her hesitatingly answer Lauer's questions ... see: Infowars Article.

The Clinton Foundation posse has turned this woman into a walking talking robot ... helping her up the stairs, keeping the press corps at bay and, now, seemingly answering her questions for her. All she needs to do is make her lips move and have her remote Edgar Bergen fill in the words. And on Thursday, to play like she was having a press conference, she descended from her new airplane and answered four planted questions from reporters. How do I know that they were planted you ask? Because, the reporters asking the questions had microphones. They were clearly posing leading questions ... allowing her to try to cover her mess from the previous night and to attack Trump. And any other reporters who wanted to ask real questions had no mics and therefore were dismissed ... including Andrea Mitchell (with a feigned compliment).

We will all know that Hellary has been fully converted into a cyborg when we see an electric power cord coming out the bottom of her pantsuit ... perhaps in her first debate?

Aleppo

Presidential candidate from the Libertarian Party, Gary Johnson, had a great opportunity this morning on MSNBC to get his name in front of the American people and, unfortunately, he did ... but not necessarily in a good way. Mike Barnicle, a chattering classless member on the Morning Joe show, asked him what he thought of Aleppo and Johnson asked, "What is Aleppo?" To which Barnicle replied, "You're kidding?" and then lectured Johnson that Aleppo was the epicenter of the refugee crisis in Syria. Candidate Johnson then picked up on the Syria reference and gave some boilerplate answer about how bad things were there.

This serious blunder on Johnson's part then became the topic of many smug comments from the many participants on this show ... basically saying that Johnson had just destroyed any chance even to get on the stage for the upcoming first presidential debate (needing 15% approval in national polling.) And they might be right. However, we are living in strange times and the fact that Johnson's brain-fart will cause his name to be now mentioned repeatedly on network news programs might just paradoxically improve his chances ... since probably 95% of Americans also don't know Aleppo from Alpo ... and many voters have had their fill of the media's belief that it is the final arbiter of a candidate's worth. We'll see in the next few days.

However, I have a few observations of my own about this event:

- I'm reasonably sure that Gary Johnson has seen Aleppo mentioned in print many times, but may not have heard it said enough to connect things ... particularly under the pressure of the TV lights.

- Recent polling suggests that Johnson's popularity (around 8%) might be pulling more from Hellary than from Trump. This might have been Barnicle's motivation to ask his gotcha question ... to help Clinton ever so slightly.

- If Johnson's polling numbers are not destroyed by this gaffe, then it might also be because Americans often love to root for the underdog. The more feral the media becomes regarding this matter, the more this may elicit such a response.

Outside the Box

Donald Trump has a penchant for thinking and speaking outside the box. He does not always toe even the Republican Party orthodoxy on issues ... such as his not vilifying Russia or his questioning the competency of our current crop of generals ... and this gets him in hot water with the liberal media and even some of his would-be supporters ... see: AP Story. (Note how this liberal-media article bolsters my argument and see if not the reaction to these comments are not used against Trump in the days to come.) In some ways, Trump's thinking reminds me of how Nixon opened up to China back in 1972 and how this bold move altered the arc of history.

I guess it is my own different-drummer thinking that allows me often to forgive what others view as gaffes on Trump's part ... but his questioning approach on problems is, I believe, not only healthy, but necessary. Yes, if after exploring alternatives, Trump may sometimes return to the mainstream line on issues ... and this is used by his enemies as evidence of his vacillating. But, to me, this shows the breadth of his decision making ability ... a strength, not a weakness. If this man is elected president, then most of his "outside the box" questioning should take place in closed meetings and the American people would only see better, more thought-trough decisions ... not the lazy ideological claptrap that Obummer is constantly feeding the world.

Devine Intervention

It  is becoming increasingly obvious that Hellary Clinton has some illness(es) that is (are) not going away. Whether this possible malady mix is so serious as to deny her from holding office is unclear because the Clinton machine is moving heaven and Earth to hide her problem(s) from the American voters. This situation is similar to FDR's attempt at a fourth presidential term in 1944 when it was leaking out that he was gravely ill ... but our war situation precluded full disclosure of this fact to voters and to our enemies ... much to Harry Truman's benefit. However, in Hellary's case, we are not embroiled in a world war and continuing down President Obummer's primrose path seems not so compelling ... at least not to this voter.

Now, I am not a God-fearing man ... nor do I believe, like Elon Musk, that we are all just virtual players in some giant futuristic computer simulation game  ... but I obviously do fear a Clinton election ... and, if her health issue(s) move front and center and obviate the presidency, then I will feel both a pang for her Greek-tragedy fate ... but still silently offer hosannas to this  equivalent of Devine intervention.

Yesterday at a Labor Day gathering the subject came up about the violence sweeping the black inner city. I proffered that the reason this mayhem was on the upswing was either the lack of police "stop and frisk" enforcement (as in Chicago) ... or the elimination of this previously-allowed option (as in New York City). A liberal friend then threw me a curve ball, "The problem then is the guns?" To which I swung and whiffed ... saying, "Yes."

You know the rest ... the friend's smug "gotcha" smile ... and me, being unable then to explain that I really meant "unregistered illegal guns." Once you have been trapped in such a rhetorical cul de sac, there are only two options: the Trump response, wherein you attack the questioner as being a hypocrite and go on to explain ... or, you "sigh!" and hope some listeners realize that any artless additional comments of yours will only be ignored. I chose the latter option.

Expect a similar trap to be laid by Chuck Todd for Trump in the upcoming first presidential debate ... at which point Hellery will likely descend into paroxysms of laughing and coughing.

Cooking the Books

Bottom line (literally): When government takes it upon itself to deceive its populous, its populous should throw these scoundrels out.

Dissing Us

President  Obummer's reception in China at the current G20 summit was, to say the most, shockingly disrespectful. To me, a possible reason for these almost unprecedented diplomatic slights is simple ...  at the top of our president's agenda is his denigrating ... through word and deed ... of the country he represents ... or, to put a shine on his lassitude, "leading from behind." And we're not just being dissed by China ... Russia, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, and North Korea openly spit on us at every opportunity. And even many of our former allies, the Philippines, Israel, Brazil, Egypt, and Turkey are crossing the street to avoid tipping their hats to our president ... and thus to the United States.

Why have we become such pariahs to such a wide swath of the world? And all in just eight short years! I've got it! It must be that all these world leaders are, at heart, racists!

Elon Musk of Tesla Motors, SpaceX and SolarCity fame is a fascinating and enigmatic person, almost too fascinating and too enigmatic ... pole vaulting over his many failures and basking in his many successes. It's Only Natural

It seems that strictly religious Muslim men, who grow up seeing only women's eyes ... these women being covered from head to toe with burqas, hijabs, etc., has aroused their manly passions to unnatural levels. It was not therefore unusual when we learned that most of the 9/11 terrorists had visited U.S. strip clubs in the days before their heinous mass murders. And we have also seen many Islam men who have recently migrated into Europe too often behaving in antisocial or criminally sexual ways.

And it will therefore also not be surprising that about 80% of what has been discovered stored on the  laptop computers of captured or killed ISIS terrorists is comprised not of religious devotions or lamentations ... but rather of good old-fashioned pornography ... see: Daily Caller Story.

No wonder these Muslim zealots are so anxious to rendezvous with the 72 virgins that they are promised when they die martyrs ... it's only natural.

Both Ways

Hellary Clinton wants to have it both ways. She claims that her 2012 fall and resulting concussion fogged her memory in 26 key instances in her recent personal e-mail-server testimony to the FBI ... see: Details. Do these infirmities, which helped keep her bacon from the FBI fire, make her now unsuitable to carry the heavy responsibilities of the presidency? She related that she was told by her doctors in her last year as Secretary of State to only work a few hours a day. And we have seen, on her current campaign trail, she carries an extremely light schedule ... disappearing for days on end. Can such an enfeebled woman do a credible job as POTUS under such a workload constraint?

Of course, if she really does not have such health problems, then she should have been compelled to cooperate more fully with the FBI ... or be charged with obstructing justice? Which is it?

However, if she wins in November, we do know one thing she won't be doing with all her possible down time ,,, baking cookies!
