The Two Faces of Trump

How could a vainglorious billionaire with base morals and insulting behavior get elected America's new president? This question grates on many liberal Americans who don't fathom what has happened.

Well my answer is that there must have been an overwhelming popular appeal to Trump's sometimes profane but nonetheless clear message ... pointing out the contrast ... the self-serving corruption in our media and political establishment. Basically there came a time when enough of the people could not be buffaloed any more by the insidious platitudes and empty promises of those enthroned in Washington and supported by Wall Street and Hollywood. These powerful elites were finally seen as spending America's seed corn to feed their insatiable appetites for more ... more control, more money, more power, more tribute ... with little thought of what this was doing to those beneath them.

Trump saw this putridness and promised the American people that he would remedy it. He swore to "drain the swamp." This was enough to tip over the manure spreader and get him elected. Of course we who elected him have a secret worry that he is just a still more clever charlatan than those whom we rejected.

But, so far, he seems to be a man of his word ... and the contrast with those who are fighting tooth and nail to keep their cushy catbird seats is, in a way, both humorous and frightening.

Enough with the E-mails Already

So saith Bernie Sanders. What penalties could Hellary Clinton possibly face if the Government Records Law were fully enforced? How about over three thousand years in prison ... see: Circa Article. Now we all know that this ain't gonna happen ... so what will be the consequences if this woman were to receive equal justice under the law for her government-malfeasance?

She could be elected president ...

(And did Bernie earn a $575K summer vacation home for the above dismissive statement? See: Washington Post Article)

Afterward: Perhaps he bought it with his leftover campaign funds? (A whole bunch of $28 contributions from devoted followers.) In which case he should call it "Venezuela on the Lake."
