There is a famous apocryphal quote that says, "A conservative is a liberal who has been mugged." Well now we are discovering another population who may be rethinking their politics -- university information professionals in California. Apparently the high (and rapidly rising) cost of Obamacare for this gaggle of Golden State IT workers is forcing layoffs there ... ironically to be replaced by immigrant h-1b workers, mainly from India. These cost savings for those higher educational institutions allows them to keep their heads above the rising fiscal waters, at least for a while ... see: Breitbart Article.

It is not difficult to forecast the results of these employment dislocations ... more Trump votes among these formally liberal Californian ITers. This layoff trend may even metastasize to professors and university instructors ... then these uber-liberal pedagogues would also be forced to rethink their politics and their classroom messages. Then the worm might finally turn.

Victoria Jackson, the six-year veteran of Saturday Night Live (SNL) ... you know, the one who used to walk on her hands ... was the only former cast member banished to the overflow room during the SNL 40th anniversary show earlier this week. Why? Apparently her political views did not jibe with the producer of this iconic show, Lorne Michaels ... see: Hollywood Reporter Article.

Does anyone remember the Hollywood Black List of the 1950's? Apparently not ...

Now even that old reliable pool of Obama stenographers, the New York Times, is turning on the president ... see: New York Times Article. Peter Baker pulls few punches in this critique of our fearless leader. I am stunned that I can agree with most of what this Times op-ed article says.

But one thing Baker leaves out ... and this may be Obama's most grievous sin ... and that is that he, for purely political reasons, staged a multi-year "surge" in Afghanistan, gave the enemy our time-line for departure, and callously forced our troops there to sit on their hands (with highly restrictive rules of engagement) and thus get slaughtered for no benefit. And so our fearless leader is making the same mistake in Afghanistan that it is now obvious that he made in Iraq. ... no plan B ... actually no plan A either.

Hillary Clinton must be reading the latest polls … for she is now taking some astounding positions that are diametrically opposed to what she espoused just nine months ago. After being President Obama’s lap dog for four years, she is now growling, baring her teeth and is nipping at his heels. She has recently given an interview to Jeffery Goldberg of The Atlantic Magazine in which she did a wormy one-eighty from many positions she enthusiastically backed while she was Secretary of State. Now she conveniently states:

- President Obama was mistaken in not helping those opposing Assad in Syria early in the revolution there. (Lest we forget Hillary … and John Kerry … were big supporters of Assad back in 2009 when the United States re-established diplomatic relations with Syria.)

- The United States needs to formulate a “cold war” against jihadism. (Is and was not the Muslim Brotherhood in the vanguard of the jihadist movement … this same Brotherhood whom both she and President Obama did their level best to grease its way into running Egypt.)

- The United States needs an overarching strategy to defeat the radical Muslim movement … one that is clearly now lacking. President Obama’s doctrine of, “Don’t do stupid shit” is not a strategy. (What, pray tell, did she do to help formulate an overarching strategy?)

- Israel is in the right when it represses Hamas … even if this means that innocent civilians must die in the crossfire. (During her time running the State Department … and before ... Hillary has clearly hated Israel and loyally backed Obama in his callous and hostile stance toward this vulnerable nation.)

- Iran has no right to enrich uranium. (Good God, what a hypocrite!)
