It is becoming increasingly clear by his actions since being elected as a Republican Senator from Utah, that the 2012 presidential election would have been a loser for America no matter which way it turned out. It was, in fact, a choice between the devil and the deep blue Rhino, Mitt Romney.

This man was spineless and clueless back then ... and has learned not a wit in the meantime. I voted for him but now I am chagrined.  I should have sat on my hands. (His VP aspirant, Paul Ryan, was also a donkey in an elephant costume.)

What if Trump Loses?

Since I recently penned a blog on the possibility of Trump winning, I have to be fair and offer suggestions in case he loses ... and his opponent, I think it is Hellary Clinton, wins:

- Everyone will be required to learn to speak Spanish

- The Clinton Foundation will absorb the Ford, Carnegie and Rockefeller Foundations

- Donald Trump will lose his IRS audit to the tune of $5 billion

- Michelle Obama, Cheryl Mills and Loretta Lynch will be named to the Supreme Court

- The Koran will replace the Gideon Bible in most hotel rooms

- Bernie Sanders will "buy" a villa on Lago Como

- John Podesta will head the State Dept., Sid Blumenthal, the CIA

- Most drug stocks will tank

- George Soros will buy Philip Morris and make cannabis-only cigarettes

- Mar a Largo will be shuttered for numerous sanitary violations

- The Summer White House will be located  next to the NY Presbyterian Hospital

- Paul Ryan will switch parties

- Bill Clinton will be put out to stud

- BB guns will be the only ones allowed ... but they can't be scary looking

What if ...

the Donald Trump/Mike Pence ticket wins in November? This upset victory might result in a number of interesting and maybe attractive developments:

- Hellary will divorce Bill and marry Huma

- Bill will devote his life to investigating female sex slave trafficking

- Barbara Streisand might move to Australia as promised

- Obummer will start his Family Foundation with the eventual intention of buying Kenya

- Newt Gingrich will be named Chief of Staff

- Mark Cuban will have lost a close friend

- Mar-a-Largo might become the summer White House

- Construction will start on the Keystone Excel pipeline

- Justice Ginsburg will not resign from the SCOTUS even when on a respirator

- Mexico will refuse to pay for the Wall

- Chris Christie will be named Attorney General

- The Clinton Foundation will have lost its major funding sources and may fold

- Rosie O'Donnell and Lena Dunham will move to Canada

- Melania Trump will attempt to buy back all her nudie photos

- Coal and other energy companies' stock prices will soar

- Paul Ryan and/or Jeb Bush might slit their wrists

- Bernie Sanders will retire to his new beach-front home

Pelosi Redux

Paul Ryan talks a good game ... but his performance on the field is sub par. When Ryan took over as Speaker of the House last fall he promised (read my lips) that he would follow "regular order" and pass a series of budget resolutions funding each department of our government separately ... obviating what had been the Democrats' strategy of leaving everything until the last minute. He hasn't done that ... for reasons one can speculate on ... but, as a consequence, the House is once again faced with passing an omnibus budget resolution which probably will be another Nancy Pelosi Christmas tree ... laden with billions of dollars of profligate spending. That is, if it is passed at all ... and, if not, another government shutdown looms ... see: Breitbart Article.

Yes, Republican Speaker John Boehner ran things between Pelosi and Ryan and he was no better at returning to "regular order." I guess that this means that irregular order is now regular order because it  provides so many opportunities for both parties to spend and spend ... although bad for our country, good for these sleazy politicians. This is another sad commentary on where we are now politically ... and why someone as marginal as Donald Trump can now have a shot at the presidency. Whether he will fix things is still a question, but we do know that the Democrats won't. "The fault dear Brutus lies not in the stars ..."

Stones

Suddenly the Republicans have gotten a set of stones ... not that they are going to stand up to Obummer's many outrages. No, they are ready and willing to sue President Trump (assuming he wins ... which is made more difficult given the likes of Ryan) if he wants to stop temporarily the immigration of Muslims from countries where terrorists are active ... see: Talking Points Memo. Has Ryan done anything to stop President Obummer's open-borders policy? No! In fact, last Fall, as one of his first acts as Speaker of the House, he quickly put on the blinders and passed all of Obummer's rich budget requests including immigration resettlement and TPP funding.

Donald Trump is increasingly accused of being impolitic ... particularly since becoming the presumptive Republican presidential candidate. But Ryan is giving him a run for his money. If Trump does prevail despite his increasing opposition within the Republican Party, it will be very interesting to see how he might get anything done given the recalcitrance of the likes of RINO Ryan as Speaker.

Of course, this was before his little Republican pebbles turned into stones.
