American Gulag

It seems clear to me, kind reader, that the United States had, during the last four or five years, moved dangerously close to creating the old Soviet Union gulags... in that it was trying to (and did) imprison people solely for their political opinions. By that I mean prison time was obviously being handed out for no legal reason other than whether this person is a Trump supporter. George Papadopoulos, Rick Gates, Michael Flynn, and Roger Stone have been mousetrapped by dirty FBI cops and a sympathetic legal system as a way of punishing them for their support of the Orangeman.

Their actual ‘process crimes’ (primarily inconsequential lying under oath) feel very much like set-ups wherein they and their families were crushed financially by the sheer power and perfidy of a corrupt and politicized Obama FBI and Justice Department ... organizations that Attorney General Barr is doing his best to restore to dignity and fairness. (Notice I have not included in this list Trump’s old lawyer, Michael Cohen, or his former brief campaign manager, Paul Manafort ... bot of whom were convicted of serious felonies: money laundering, tax evasion and corruption ... unconnected to the Trump campaign.)

And an even more disturbing aspect of this politicalization of crimes in the Washington, DC swamp is that known perjurers such as Comey, McCabe, Clapper, Brennan, Sally Yates, Susan Rice and maybe higher-ups ... are still walking free ... and under no legal jeopardy (that we know of currently). And, if they are being investigated and found guilty, is this political persecution too?

Nah!

Perhaps, it’s a good thing that we have no Siberia equivalent?

Spooks

Governments need to have spooks ... spies, counter spies, espionage agents and counter espionage  agents. That’s the nature of national security. And because of what these agents are charged to do ... unsavory stuff ... they are generally not Boy Scouts. If they are not nefarious when they are hired, they become nefarious in order to advance their careers.

So we should not be surprised when we find unsavory individuals like Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Strzok, Page, McCabe, etc. inside our intelligence operations. It comes with the territory ... like frogs in a frog pond.

Which is all the more reason why, if these intelligence officials turn rogue and use their powerful wiles and ways against their political adversaries, they should be severely punished. If they are given a pass, because they are spooks, then they effectively become like antibodies attacking their own tissue, they create a very dangerous precedent ... a precedent that might eventually kill their host ... i.e., bring down their country.

All the more reason that the FBI Inspector General Horowitz and Attorney General Barr should not pull their punches in their investigations into the alleged attempted coup by our intelligence community against a sitting president, Donald J. Trump. If our president cannot trust his spooks, it is very spooky!

Burning Bridges

The growing revelations surrounding our intelligence agencies’ apparent conspiring with foreign spooks to spy on the Trump campaign and then trying to bring down his presidency ... very likely will cast a pall over future cooperation involving legitimate security threats. It looks like those agencies in Great Britain, Australia and Italy ... at least ... will end up with egg on their faces after this chicanery is fully revealed in AG Barr’s investigation of the investigation.

These governments seem to have been up to their eyeballs ... involved into US political intrigue ... and Italy is already cleaning house ... calling for resignations from the involved parties ... see: Citizens Free Press Story. These countries may now be reluctant to cooperate again under actual intrusion threats. Have Obama’s bumbling Keystone Kops, Brennan, Comey and Clapper, burned down our bridges with foreign intelligence agencies?

Quite likely ... at least for the nonce.

Investigation Fatigue

The Mueller investigation is over. It appears to this observer to have been nothing more than an exercise in gorilla dust to keep the country distracted with bluster so that we would not focus on the many real serious scandals committed by Obama, Hillary Clinton, Brennan, Comey, Clapper, Lynch, et alia during The One’s regime. This obfuscating strategy continues into the foreseeable future with the intent to tire us out from bogus investigations so that these real Obama scandals will be swept away.

So, the fact that Mueller seems to have come up empty with his two-year investigation may not be a total loss for the Democrats. Hillary is still sipping Chardonnay in Chappaqua, Obama is ensconced with Michelle O. and Valery Jarrett in his DC manse, most of the crooked CIA, FBI and DOJ bad actors are still cashing their checks from book publishers, MSNBC, CNN and other media moguls ... and spittle-flecked Democrats are plotting new ways to negate the results of the last election ... instead of helping Trump to Make America Great Again.

“The investigation continues ...” So sad!

The Price of Perfidy

John Brennan, the former Communist and suspected secret Muslim, has had his security clearance revoked by President Trump to the consternation of most of the chattering class and poison peners. Brennan had been the head of the CIA under Obama and is now one of the vindictive chatters on MSNBC ... clawing Trump has impinged oh his freedom of speech. No, no ... it his on his freedom of listening.

It seems abundantly  clear that Brennan and the others mentioned by Trump as possible losers of security clearance  had formed the core of a cabal opposing Trump in the most pernicious  ways. Had they succeeded in their evil, Hillary would be president and their actions would have been rewarded ... at the country's peril.

We escaped this national disgrace by a whisker ... and the price of this perfidy will likely be that all former intelligence operatives will lose their security clearance (including, hopefully, Hillary and maybe even Obama himself if they can be linked to this plot).
