Obvious Truth #32

The Democrat party is a big pod of pilot whales that, for some mysterious reason, is preparing to beach themselves. -- Anon.

Slow-motion Coup

We've seen this movie before. President Richard Nixon was hounded from office by a cabal of the American media, the Democrat party and millions of naive Republicans (myself included). It took roughly two years but in the end the pressure of the elite classes finally flipped the Republican political leadership to abandon Nixon over his obvious attempt to cover up for a petty Watergate break-in ... meant to do nothing more than stop the Deep State leaks inside his administration, (Remember the "plumbers" was the name of those who broke into the DNC to find the source of these leaks.)

Now, taking a lesson from this successful slow-motion coup, a similar group is attempting these same tactics to negate the 2016 vote of the American people in electing Donald Trump president. The logic behind this coup is that the drip, drip, drip of unsavory revelations about Trump and Company will eventually turn even the most ardent of his supporters against him ... and he will be driven from office. Clearly the Special Counsel Mueller has the backing of much of the media and the Democrat party (read a vindictive Hillary Clinton) in this overthrow attempt. There is one small difference this time however ... so far defining Trump's crime is dicey at best. Throw in that Trump is doing, to the best of his ability, what the voters sent him to Washington to do.

Also, as I first stated, we have seen this movie before. The script and the players are familiar to anyone who lived through Watergate ... except possibly for Bob Woodward. From recent interviews, I get the distinct impression that he has reflected on what part he played in Nixon's ouster and is less likely to take up the assassination pen this time around.

In many ways this (and Nixon's) cabal reminds me of that great novel "The Caine Mutiny" which I read many years ago. Here, Quegg, captain of a old rusty minesweeper, now a resupply ship, the Caine, was masterfully painted as the unstable, eccentric villain throughout most of the book ... until his second in command mutinies and takes over the ship in a storm. He, court marshaled for this offense, is acquitted when Quegg breaks down while testifying. Then the author, Herman Wouk, turns things upside down by making Quegg into the demi-hero for doing his small part in the much bigger picture of the war in the Pacific. Although annoying, nothing that Quegg had done deserved the disloyalty of his holier-than-thou crew. In a blink of an eye, the villain in this book became the protagonist.

So Trump is clearly eccentric and makes enemies at the drop of a tweet. But he is doing the job that the American voters asked him to do ... despite all the obstacles thrown up by the Democrats, the elite media and the establishment Republicans ... a job much more difficult than need be. Instead of his enemies taking him down with a Caesar-like assassination ... for which this country wouldn't stand ... they are opting for another slow-motion coup ... in many ways much more sinister and morally repugnant ... much like the naive crew of the Caine.

Collusion Illusion

The Democrat party is colluding with a sympathetic national media to suggest that Donald Trump and his campaign operatives were somehow colluding with Russia to steal the presidential election last November ... or to some other unspecified nefarious end. One of these collisions ... the Democrat/media one or the Trump one ... is an illusion.

Can you guess which one?

Words for the President

President Obummer ... we have been experiencing this multi-multi-faceted man for eight years ... so we know the measure of this man pretty well. Yes,I know my assessments may not be universal ... but I think that each of these adjectives I attribute to him has some backing in his words or deeds. He is clearly quite complex and mercurial so it takes a small dictionary to describe him at any one time. Anyhow here are all the admittedly mostly pejorative words that I think apply:

naive, haughty, charming, autocratic, lackadaisical, detached, smooth, elitist, perfidious, petty, mendacious, illogical, ideological, prejudiced, divisive, derisive, disinterested, single-minded, jocular, unpatriotic, self-serving, devious, plutocratic, fatherly, designing, undemocratic, puerile, vindictive, villainous, loquacious, narrow-minded, sneaky, pompous, opaque, lithe, pathological, acerbic, disloyal, snobbish, derivative, foppish, demagogic, superficial, distracted, deceitful, entitled, egotistical, unfocused, obsessed, anti-Semitic, apologetic, vain, lanky, avuncular, folksy, dense, blase, bitter, greedy, sartorial, shallow, charismatic, single-minded, duplicitous, selfish, fatherly, unfocused, unstudied, traitorous, secretive, self-indulgent, sonorous, pedagogical, liberal, spiteful

With an approval rating above 50%, many Americans must fixate on the few benign attributes in the above panoply of descriptors and ignore the others ... but they nevertheless sense the damage he has caused with his malignant qualities. That is why our country and the Democrat party are in disarray. It will likely take a few generations of historians to sift through these descriptors to finally measure this president for posterity. But for me for now, I think he was an unmitigated disaster.

Reflections

As this tumultuous year 2016 winds down, I gather my loose synapses into some form of strained logic to reflect on who has been boiling our porridge over our last orbit 'round the sun.

First, the Religion of Peace has only killed a few hundred thousand of us this year ... mostly their kindred souls tragically but, for the rest of us, fortunately. However, their belief that martyrdom rewards them lavishly and lasciviously propels them into the most uncivilized brutality that man can invent. This twisted form of moral immorality is both the reason for this tribe's remarkable successes and, unless corrected, its eventual doom. The primary reason for its rise is that it offers discipline and order in an undisciplined and unordered world. It has become the flickering flame to which many meek seekers are moth-driven. They are clearly charting their, and possibly even our, end.

Second, after an eight year escape from our senses, the American middle has, at least temporarily, recaptured its mojo. We have chosen an unlikely leader who knows how to get things done and is doing things ... most of which seem intent on righting our ship of state after a long meandering voyage with open scuppers. Trump's words and actions are often crude and rude, but he is all we got, so we have given him the helm with our fingers crossed. His choices for his crew who would carry out his mandate are a mite questionable but, I for one, am willing to wait and see ... mostly because he has obviously had more life successes than failures. Yes, there will be some duds appointed. But I suspect he will not be shy with the term, "You're fired!"

Third, the Democrat party has been pulled so far into the outback of loony liberalism that they are going to need a modern-day Moses to lead them back to civilized thought and action. Their travel agents for this sad sojourn, Obummer, Schumer, Hellery, Pelosi, Biden and the like still have the party's ideological credit card and are spending them into policy penury. Unless liberals can find new and more moderate leadership, they will continue to enjoy ballot box failure. Will the Republicans get vindictive toward the left after they assume full power on January 20th? I surely hope so. And, if Trump can fulfill even half of his economic promises, he will likely change the traditional political alliances for a generation.

Fourth, for the first time in my dotage I have some hope for some Mideast pacification. Trump's pledge to put Iran back in the box, his moving our embassy to Jerusalem, his recognition of Egypt's el-Sisi as a Muslim mitigating force, and his (hopefully) persuading Russia to help stop the slaughter in Syria ... all have me optimistic, not for full peace, but at least for detente. My expectation is that his policy in this region will be to reward moderation and punish radicalism ... exactly the opposite of what the current administration has been doing. Why Obummer has pursued this insanity is between him and his Mullah ...

More to come later ...

Unbalanced

The losers keep losing. Much of the American media were on the wrong side of the recent presidential election. (You know who they are ...) This is OK, but they were also tripping over each other to smear Trump and Co. with anything that might allow Hellary to win the White House. The puff pieces on Clinton were as numerous as hot dogs at a baseball game. And the Wikileaks releases have shown a shocking degree of collusion between the Democrat party and many media personalities. Now 68% of Americans think that the media are biased ... see:  Gallup Poll. And as a result, most media outlets are leaking readers and viewers at an alarming rate and are being forced to cut back employees and coverage. Even the New York Times, the supposed "paper of record," has issued an unapologetic apology for the way that they had covered the election ... see:  Deadline Story.

So have the preponderance of the media changed their ways and moved back to traditional reportage ... the who, what, where, how and sometimes, where appropriate, the why of current events? No, not really. Trump's recent administration selections are being vilified as being racists, KKK supporters, anti-Jewish, pro-Russian, and hating puppies ... all on the flimsiest of evidence. It is almost laughable how stretched much of this yellow journalism is. Not only are these media imposters still doing mainly opposition research, but they color their a stories with pejorative nouns, adjectives, adverbs and verbs. Here are just a few recent examples: overtly partisan, Fuhrer Trump, outrageous, divisive symbol, disastrous,Trump Tower bubble, sharp pugnacious, etc. And these where in news stories not in opinion pieces.

It appears that many of these media outlets do not want to relearn what journalism is until it is too late.

Enabling the Enablier

Not surprisingly the recently released Wikileaks' e-mails hacked from John Podesta, Chairman of Hellary "The Enabler" Clinton's campaign, reveal an unsettling close relationship between many media personalities and Podesta. And it is sad to say "not surprisingly" because the media has increasingly become stenographers for the Democrat party ever since the Watergate scandal in the early 1970s ... that's 45 years of creeping media enabling to the point where, now, it is the expected norm. In the first three presidential and vice presidential debates we have witnessed clear thumb-on-the-scale attempts by the media moderators to swing the results to the Democrats ... all the while feigning impartiality.

Below are just a few recent e-mails revelations showing the extent of these cozy and unhealthy media relationships with Podesta ... all pulled directly from The Drudge Report (one media outlet still holding out):
This is just from previous e-mail dumps. There are many more coming and we may indeed see the entire establishment media compromised before this is over. Will it make a difference? One can only hope ... although these reporting lapses must first be revealed to the the American public in general. And how might this happen? Certainly not through the establishment media ...

Barack Hussein Obama

There are really only two choices:

He is a Muslim -- He and the Democrat party have perpetrated a cynical fraud on the American people.

He is not a Muslim -- What would he be doing any differently?

Fox Droppings

No, not Rupert Murdoch's Fox News Network. This time it is Vicente Fox, the former president of Mexico who is touring the United States, at the behest of the Democrat party, poor-mouthing Donald Trump and urging the millions of Latinos here, legal and illegal, not to vote for this "stupid false prophet" ... see: Washington Examiner Story. He also is comparing Hellery Clinton to Margaret Thatcher ... ugh! But his real Santa Anna's revenge is that he calls Trump voters "lazy TV-watching drunks."

Let me see ... if you are going to castigate someone for his cheap insults, shouldn't you behave differently from the person you are castigating? I think it's called that "glass house" thingey ...

Tortoise Justice

The Justice Department under Attorney General Loretta Lynch is slow-walking the investigation and possible prosecution of Hellery Clinton in the case involving her using a private e-mail server while she was Secretary of State ... for details see: Washington Post Story. Clearly, since Ms. Clinton is the presumptive nominee of the Democrat party for president, this case has enormous political implications and thus has caused unprecedented problems for this investigation.

As the onset of this imbroglio was last summer when it seems the FBI was first involved using many dozens of its agents, and, as such, a rational person would conclude that the FBI might have wrapped up this case by now, no? No! Obviously, no matter how cleverly our AG Lynch wordsmiths this issue, she is obviously kicking the legal can down the road ... hoping she can postpone things until after this November's election ... at which point it will go away ... for who's going to indict an elected president or punish the loser?

I'm sure our AG knows that old saw -- justice delayed is justice denied. Allow me my own shibboleth -- the dirty oil of politics doesn't mix with the pure water of justice. The people of the United States deserve better than this out of our tortoise-in-chief law-enforcement officer.

Registrate y Vota

Community organizers are essentially the ground game for the Democrat party and, in many instances, this ground game is meant to subvert the laws of the United States ... such as, in California where they are trying to register Latinos to vote so that they can support Democrat candidates in the Fall ... see: The Press Enterprise Story. This article implies that these registration efforts are only for legal immigrants ... but anyone who pays attention knows that illegals are also being recruited (now that, in many states, illegals have driver's licenses.)

And the community organizers doing this work are quite often front organizations like PICO, the Center for Community Change and many others (often funded by government grants and tax-exempt charitable donations) ... see: New York Times Article. This article also points out that many colleges are now offering courses in community organizing and acting as conduits ... feeding this progressive movement.

And these community organizers are also then used on Election Day to get out the Democrat vote.

Before he became a politician, Barack Obummer was a community organizer in Chicago for three years ... see: Byron York Article. Community organization is but one way that the Democrat party maintains its grip on governance despite the fact that only 31% of Americans consider themselves to be liberals ... see: Wall Street Journal Article. The other is liberals' insidious infiltration of higher education and our national media. As I have previously said, no well-meaning government program, like community outreach, cannot be subverted for some self-serving end.

Not Fed Up

Prediction: The Federal Reserve Bank will NOT raise interest rates in December ... NOR will it raise interest rates until, at the earliest, December of 2016.

The logic behind this forecast is as follows: ... the current roiled state of terrorist actions in Europe ... and their inevitable economic fallout ... suggests that the reaction to an interest rate increase by the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank would likely have an out-of-proportion effect on the world's financial markets. Given that Fed Chairman,  Janet Yellen, has been chary about such a move in the past, it seems more than likely she, and the rest of the Open Market Committee, will defer once again.

Next year is an election year and, given that the Fed has, in the past, tended toward favoring the Democrat party, I think it unlikely that it would risk damaging Hillary Clinton's chances for the presidency by raising interest rate in 2016 ... any time before the November election.

Thus, I would predict that the earliest that the Fed would make such an interest-rate move ... and assuming economic conditions would still warranted it ... would be December of 2016.

Cards on the Table

Staying with my recurrent theme of lambasting our president, I offer the following semi-screed:

It has taken six years but President Obama is finally putting his “hope and change”cards on the table. He is effectively and unilateraly granting amnesty to about five million illegal immigrants. He is pushing extra-legal environmental rules to limit CO2 emissions, He is kowtowing to  the Iranians so that they can continue enhancing uranium against all eight U.N. resolutions. He morally equates the brutal murder of four rabbis in a Jerusalem synagogue with Palestinian terrorist deaths. He, from his first day in office, has backed the Muslim Brotherhood which has caused most of the turmoil in the Middle East. He had one Islamic Jihadist killed, but turned around and let dozens go back to their evil ways. His shameless infamy goes on and on and on.

Being that the voters can no longer damage Obama at the polls, he apparently feels he has now nothing to lose and can show us what his hidden agenda was all along … even if this means that he is helping to destroy the Democrat party. The American people have been hoodwinked and grifted by our leader who had promised to fix things. Instead he has pursued his mentor Sol Alinsky’s radical agenda and his mother's anti-American prejudices. He loves to poke his finger in the eyes of capitalists, patriots, and believers in the Constitution. He is not the messiah that his gang of political thugs led us to believe over two election cycles.

As president, Obama can deal himself winning cards and slip treys and fours to his enemies. His sleeves and socks are stuffed with aces and many of the other players at the table are colluding with him. He is not just a card shark … he is a whole pod of card killer whales.

2016 can’t come soon enough.

The Big Rotting Apple

Decay from the Left

When will they ever learn? The left keeps returning to the same old failed policies … pander to municipal unions … pander to minorities … pander to limousine liberals ... increase handouts … raise taxes … lower vital services … line the pockets of your supporters … castigate, even punish social conservatives. Such is the case in New York City where the new over-whelming-elected mayor, Bill de Blasio, is hell bent on undoing much of the progress that mayors Giuliani and Bloomberg had so carefully made there over the last twenty years.

Now even a police union is recommending that the Democrat party not hold its 2016 convention in Brooklyn because of deteriorating conditions in Gotham. They say that the squeegee strong-arms are back, the aggressive panhandlers are back, street crime is on the rise, and police morale is in the tank … see: NY Times Story. Yes, the New York Times tries to ameliorate somewhat these union charges, but it is still clear that things are getting worse in the Big Apple.

Mayor de Blasio, since his election, has gone after charter schools (to appease the teachers union), deep-sixed the “stop and frisk” police policy (to belly-rub the race baiters), instituted a multi-hundred-million dollar pre-kindergarten program (to babysit toddlers), and reduced garbage pick-ups and snow removals in the upper East side (to punish those who didn’t vote for him).

Yes, those who are benefiting from these liberal shifts still like de Blasio … but, in a few years when it becomes self-evident how things have changed for the worse, some poor schlub Republican or Independent will have to come in as mayor and clean things up all over again (if New York City is so lucky).

Limburger Cheese

I have always thought that there was considerable voter fraud being practiced in this country … mostly by Democrats … be it dead people voting, illegal aliens and felons voting, people voting in multiple states (especially students), rigged voting machines, abuse of absentee ballots, people voting multiple times in the same state, and ballot box stuffing (remember the “hanging chads” in Florida). And just recently we hear that in California, people who have signed up for Obamacare have been sent voter registration cards with “Democrat” pre-checked. I am also reasonably sure that there are other ruses that go undetected. But now we have some more hard evidence to support this contention.  In North Carolina, it has been discovered that tens of thousands of voters recently cast their ballots in at least two states … see: National Review Disclosure.

I have written many times about such a blatant abuse of democracy in the past … see: Voter FraudDown We GoRepresentation without TaxationOne Man One VoteThe Fix, and Grapenuts.  But the example that convinced me that such malfeasance is clearly widespread, particularly in the inner cities, was in the recent 2012 Presidential election where 100% of the registered voters in 59 Philadelphia voting districts voted for Obama … see: Voter Intimidation. This is absolutely impossible. There must be a few people hospitalized or deceased. There might even be a few free-thinkers who would have voted for Romney. But exactly 100% of almost 20,000 registered voters in 59 precincts in Philadelphia vote for Obama … balderdash!

But, equally dangerous is the campaign by this country’s lefties and lefty media to pooh-pooh concerns about voter fraud. I can’t help but wonder why this is? The accusation of “voter suppression” is constantly used to suppress any valid effort to reduce voter fraud. Can nobody see through this throwing up of a phony smoke screen by the left? The more I hear such objections, the more I am convinced that this practice is widespread. You can’t get on an airplane or cash a check or rent a car or buy alcohol without showing a picture ID.  Why should this not be a requirement to vote? And why should voter registration be tied to more and more processes that don’t check for one’s citizenship? I truly believe that the Democrat party is actively involved in perpetuating massive amounts of voter fraud.  Otherwise how come this party controls the White House and the Senate when the clear majority of Americans polled consider themselves to be Conservatives?

Something stinks and it isn't Limburger cheese …

The Tea Party’s Tea Party

The long knives of the Republican Party are out to emasculate the Tea Party.  Since Republican Representative Paul Ryan got his budget compromise (with Democrat Senator Patty Murray) passed into law, the establishment Republicans are feeling their oats … big mistake.  First John Boehner unloaded both barrels on Ted Cruz and the “Don’t tread on me” crowd … see: Huffington Post Story ... saying, “Frankly, I just think that they’ve [the Tea Party] lost all credibility.”  In the past I have thought that Boehner wasn’t immensely bright … but that he had good political senses.  I think he might have just disproved this supposition of mine.

Joining in this bashing of the right-wing of the Republican party are Karl Rove … see Breitbart Story and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce … see:  Another Breitbart Story  These have both been stalwarts of the Republican party but apparently believe that the ideological purity of the Tea Party members have cost their party too much in the polls and at the polling place.  Yes, to some degree these two representatives of the establishment of the GOP are correct.  But then one can also argue that this same wing of the Republican party have also had their share of political miscues … need I mention John McCain, Mitt Romney, Bob Dole, George H.W. Bush, etc.?  And even George W. Bush, Karl Rove’s hand puppet, did his level best to discourage the more conservative members of his party.

2010 was the coming-out victory for the Tea Party.  As a consequence, what did the Republican establishment do?  They did not monetarily support them (witness the recent governor’s race in Virginia) and did nothing to counter the smear campaign that the main-stream media has been reveling in ever since 2010. In other words, the Tea Party-ers are pariahs to not just Democrats … but also to establishment Republicans.  The Democrats have embraced their radical left, but the Republicans have been much too public in their opposition to their right wing.  How stupid can supposedly bright politicians be?!

The 2016 presidential election will be the acid test for establishment Republicans.  Paul Ryan and Chris Christie will fight for their nod … while Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz (maybe Sarah Palin?) will work the crowd on the Tea-Party right.  If the establishment Republicans nominate their candidate, they will lose once more. (As Rush Limbaugh often says, if voters have a choice between a Democrat and a Democrat, the Democrat ... Hillary Clinton ... will always win.)  If however the Tea Party prevails and the establishment Republicans, out of spite, abandon them in the Presidential election, I predict that this will also mean that Hillary will re-enter the White House.  But the Tea Party will not have lost everything.  They will, in effect, have replaced the old-guard GOPers as the future of their party.  That is, if we have a country left in 2020 to vie for.

Fruitcake

At the risk of being labeled a fruitcake, yesterday on a Skype call with friends, I suggested that Sarah Palin might be a good Presidential candidate for the Republicans in 2016.  Here is my logic:

American voters, as a rule, are clearly “uninformed.”  In 2008, they emotionally chose Barack Obama because he was, to use Harry Reid’s words, a “light-skinned African-American with no Negro dialect.”  This was to prove to themselves that this country was no longer racist … and that, by electing Obama, the stain of slavery would be forever cleansed.  And then they re-elected him in 2012 … despite the fact that he had proven himself of poor Presidential timber … using much of the same mindless naivete.

Now as we approach 2016, I believe that emotion will once again rule the American electorate … and this time they will feel that it is a woman’s turn to be President … independent of any consideration of competence or character.  I think that this will be the Democrat party’s strategy in putting forward Hillary Clinton.  It is her turn … and, barring any major scandal (maybe even with one), she should be a shoe in.

I believe them right and the only defense against such an emotional appeal would be for the Republicans to also proffer a woman … perhaps Sarah Palin.  Yes, I know that much of the American media would have a field day sniping at her … much as they did in 2008.  But then they did exactly the same when Ronald Reagan was nominated … painting him as a know-nothing thespian … and he was elected in a landslide.  Since 2008, Ms. Palin has been annealed in the oven of national politics and has made virtually no blunders.  I’m sure she has even read some periodicals.

Ms. Palin clearly is a true-blue conservative … much like Reagan was … and unfortunately, no male Republican candidate would be able to debate Hillary on even terms.  Even Chris Christie, I’m afraid would be hobbled in his confrontational style when pitted against Hillary.  All she would need to do would be to mist up and Christie would be toast.  On the other hand, Sarah Palin would be on level ground and would be able to point out Hillary’s many fault lines without appearing sexist.  She should be able to hold her own in any debate ... and Hillary would get mushy at her own peril.

Sometimes political parties need to go with the popular flow … and actually eat some of last-Christmas’s fruitcake.  It might even taste good.

Afterward: If Sarah Palin were to run, she obviously would have a long row to hoe ... if this brickbat is an example ... see: Breitbart Reference.

Voter Fraud

To the cheaters go the spoils.

We sneer in this country when we see the massive voter fraud in Russia (more votes for Putin in some areas than there were registered voters) or Venezuela (organized voter thuggery).  But we should be careful in our high-mindedness ... for we are rapidly becoming equally corrupt ... so much so that I fear our democracy is in jeopardy.  We have seen the seedy side of "community organizers" in the exposure of ACORN's shenanigans (see: Many Instances).  We have seen local elections in Chicago and Nevada that were clearly rigged.  We have even had nation-wide elections that are suspected of to have been stolen ... JFK's in particular.  Democrats decry George W. Bush's first election as being decided by the U.S. Supreme Court ... but would have been perfectly happy to have it determined by the clearly-biased Florida Supreme Court.

I have recently read a compelling blog that deals with this subject in a plain-talk manner.  May I suggest that you give it a gander.  It's not very long ... see: The Diplomad.  And, if you like this former U.S. diplomat's  (and UCLA graduate's) style, go back from time to time to read his insightful analysis of the world and national situation.  I have a generic link to his blog on this blog.  (He is about to spill the inside poop on Hillary's tenure at Foggy Bottom.)

Back to voter fraud.  This country is overwhelmingly Conservative (see: Gallup Survey), yet Liberals keep winning elections where they probably shouldn't.  There can be few explanations for these inconsistencies other than Democrat-organized voter fraud.  (There might even be some cheating on the part of Republicans ... particularly in the South.  This too is inexcusable.)  Although many citizens understand this is happening, they do nothing.  And, when they do something to stop voter fraud, they are charged with "voter suppression."

This electoral misfeasance is a grievous wrong and needs to be remedied if we have any chance of maintaining our Democratic institutions.  Perhaps a political party might be charged under the federal Racketeer-Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) statutes?  (You know which one I mean.)  Wouldn't that be a breath of fresh air?  Perhaps even, if Romney can win the Presidency this fall (despite expected massive voter fraud), his adiministration might begin the thankless job of cleaning these Aegean stables?  And returning us to a nation that our founding fathers would recognize.
