Criminal Me

The Democrat Attorney General of the U.S.Virgin Islands is preparing a civil prosecution against 90 global-warming denier organizations charging them under racketeering statutes for propagandizing against a looming climate crisis ... see: Free Beacon Story. Whereas the real hokum is that "97% of scientists" believe that the "world has a fever" as a result of a minute incremental bit of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. And the Attorneys General of other liberal states are also fixing to follow suit in this cabal against those organizations who can be castigated as "deniers."

This sad episode reminds me very much of the bone-headed move of Pope Urban VIII in 1615 when he effectively imprisoned Galileo Galilei for his heliocentric pronouncements about our universe. This scientific genius, Galileo languished for years under house arrest for his truth telling ... until he finally died disgraced and obscured. The fact that any modern government steps in to endorse or punishes controversial scientific theories is, to me, so ignorant and Medieval as to frighten me for our future.

Let me proudly say that I have been a global warming denier for well over eight years (see: Chicken Little) who has received no support from any carbon-merchandising company or organization. I therefore offer myself up for prosecution by one or more of these antithetical Attorneys General for my heresy. And I thank the stars that the current pope, Pope Francis, no longer has the purchase to start an inquisition ... but he does have some United States secular lawyers doing his silly bidding.

Tortoise Justice

The Justice Department under Attorney General Loretta Lynch is slow-walking the investigation and possible prosecution of Hellery Clinton in the case involving her using a private e-mail server while she was Secretary of State ... for details see: Washington Post Story. Clearly, since Ms. Clinton is the presumptive nominee of the Democrat party for president, this case has enormous political implications and thus has caused unprecedented problems for this investigation.

As the onset of this imbroglio was last summer when it seems the FBI was first involved using many dozens of its agents, and, as such, a rational person would conclude that the FBI might have wrapped up this case by now, no? No! Obviously, no matter how cleverly our AG Lynch wordsmiths this issue, she is obviously kicking the legal can down the road ... hoping she can postpone things until after this November's election ... at which point it will go away ... for who's going to indict an elected president or punish the loser?

I'm sure our AG knows that old saw -- justice delayed is justice denied. Allow me my own shibboleth -- the dirty oil of politics doesn't mix with the pure water of justice. The people of the United States deserve better than this out of our tortoise-in-chief law-enforcement officer.

A New Broom

A grand jury, under the new Attorney General (AG) Loretta Lynch, has just indicted Denny Hastert, the former Republican Speaker of the House on the strange charge of violating banking laws to pay hush money to some unnamed person ... see: Washington Post Story. This coupled with the previous indictment of that rogue New Jersey Democrat Senator Robert Manendez on corruption charges ... see: Washington Post Story ... suggests that the Obama administration may be using its Justice Department as a political hammer.

Since, to me, it is clear that Washington is chock-a-block full of crooks of all stripes, the real test for our new AG will be how many more of these miscreants she brings before the docks. How about Representative Charlie Rangel on tax evasion? How about Senator Harry Reid on misusing the IRS? How about Representative Nancy Pelosi on corruption? How about that presidential confidant Al Sharpton on tax evasion? How about Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation on RICO charges? How about our president himself for flaunting his oath of office and numerous crony-capitalism payoffs?

If Loretta Lynch has brought a new broom with her into her new job, I would love to see her begin to sweep clean that snake pit of our nation's capital. How about it, AG?

Walter Mitty

Sometimes I like to slip into my Walter Mitty persona and imagine myself to be someone important … like a U.S. Senator sitting on the Judiciary Committee interviewing Loretta Lynch for her new position as Attorney General. My questioning might go something like this:

Me: Ms. Lynch, your predecessor, Eric Holder is your personal friend and confident and, I understand, he has sought your advice on many of his more controversial legal positions. Now I consider Mr. Holder to be the worst Attorney General since John Mitchell and he was the first Attorney General ever held in contempt of Congress. Because of this nexus, I would like to have you give us what you advised Mr. Holder on a number of his more contentious poses:

Me: Do you agree that we should be holding a trial for that enemy combatant, Abu Hamza al-Masn, in New York City, when, according to administrative precedent he should have been sent to Guantanamo?

Ms. Lynch: those noises that Charlie Brown’s teacher makes when talking to him.

Me: Would you have prosecuted those New Black Panthers for their intimidation activities at the Philadelphia polling places in 2008?

Ms. Lynch: a convoluted legal argument full of “whereas”s, “whatfor”s, and stare decisis

Me: Do you agree with the Attorney General that we are a nation of cowards for not discussing race relations more?

Ms. Lynch: yada, yada, yada

Me: Do you concur that Mr. Holder should have been held in contempt of Congress for withholding critical documents in the “Fast and Furious” scandal?

Ms. Lynch: Now you are asking me to violate the confidentiality between a client and his lawyer.

Me: Is President Obama within Constitutional bounds if he chooses to use an executive action to give green cards to millions of illegal immigrants?

Ms. Lynch: Senator Mitty, I think your questioning time has expired …

Pukata … pukata …

Afterward: For some more question topics see: ABC News Story.

Our Next Attorney General

Since Eric Holder has announced his departure from this post, there has been great speculation as to whom President Obama might name to replace him. Such names as Deval Patrick, current Governor of Massachusetts, have popped up … even though he strenuously denies that he is in the running. That being the case, I would like to offer my suggestions as to who it might be. How about?

      -        Lani Guinier – lawyer, rejected nominee to the Supreme Court

-        Bill Ayers – former Barack Obama neighbor, often needing a lawyer

-        George Clooney – played a lawyer in “Intolerable Cruelty”

-        Bill Clinton – disbarred lawyer for lying under oath

-        Lynne Stewart – The Blind Sheikh’s lawyer, convicted of abetting terrorism

-        Michelle Obama – former lawyer and famed nutritionist

-        Eliot Spitzer – roue, lawyer and former governor of New York

-        Anthony Weiner – out-of-work protégée of the lawyer, Charles Schumer

So Long Eric

Eric Holder will be leaving his post as Attorney General in the Obama administration. I expect that, in his mind, he was honest, patriotic, selfless, color-blind, non-political, guileless, forthright, non-inflammatory, even-handed, unapproachable, non-controversial, a constitutionalists, and "a uniter, not a divider."

He wasn't ... not even close.

The American Voter

Yesterday, the United States' Attorney General, Eric Holder, addressed the NAACP convention and made his pitch to negate the "stand your ground" laws in many states.  He based this appeal upon the outcome of the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman trial where, as it turns out, this law was never claimed as a defense by Zimmerman's lawyers.  Never you mind.  Even though Holder obviously knew this, he was clearly confident that his audience and the American public didn't.  So he assumed the majority of American voters would not notice such demagoguery and, except for Fox News and some radio talk shows, they didn't.  All around the country, sleazy politicians, over-paid athletes, nebbish news makers, ego-maniacal movie stars and others wishing to get into or stay in the spotlight are using George Zimmerman's acquittal as a way of burnishing their images with America's dumbed-down populus.

The one notable exception, believe it or not, was former President, Jimmy Carter, who thought the verdict was justified ... based upon the charges and the facts ... see: Politico Story.  It seems about ever ten years or so Jimmy gets it right ... but not so the case with Hillary Clinton's $200,000 30-minute sisterhood speech ... see: Another Politico Story.

To me, our majority-moronic electorate is a very frightening demographic.  If such nose-picking behavior has become the norm in our society, how will we ever retain our military, economic, and moral hegemony in the world?  I sadly suppose we won't ... unless things change.  Perhaps, instead of encouraging absolutely everyone to vote (sometimes more than once), it might be a good idea to limit future voter eligibility by using some reasonable metric of perspicacity?  Perhaps, what was Hillary Clinton's former job?  Or where is Benghazi?  Or, within a few trillion dollars, how big is our national debt?  (But not, who is Justin Bieber?!)

Breaking News

Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor, Tim "Crash" Murray, is to resign his post today (see: NECN Story).  It is not known who will replace him, but this move is clearly meant to pave the way for Mass. Governor, Deval Patrick, also to leave his post for bigger and better things in Washington, DC ... perhaps as Attorney General or head of Homeland Security.  This presages the resignation of Obama's current crippled AJ, Eric Holder, who will be replaced by Deval Patrick or the current head of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano.

It should be interesting to see who's the next Democrat hack that Deval Patrick anoints to replace him as this will be our new Governor for the next millennium.

Fetid

How can we have an Attorney General who lies to Congress?  See: Fast and Furious.

Or an Energy Secretary who gives billions of unvetted dollars to the Administration's friends?

Or, for that matter, how can we have a Treasury Secretary who cheats on his income taxes?

(You fill in the other blanks ...)

The Barry's cabinet is as fetid as a Calcutta garbage dump.

(And who knows what all those czars are up to?)
