Enabling the Enablier

Not surprisingly the recently released Wikileaks' e-mails hacked from John Podesta, Chairman of Hellary "The Enabler" Clinton's campaign, reveal an unsettling close relationship between many media personalities and Podesta. And it is sad to say "not surprisingly" because the media has increasingly become stenographers for the Democrat party ever since the Watergate scandal in the early 1970s ... that's 45 years of creeping media enabling to the point where, now, it is the expected norm. In the first three presidential and vice presidential debates we have witnessed clear thumb-on-the-scale attempts by the media moderators to swing the results to the Democrats ... all the while feigning impartiality.

Below are just a few recent e-mails revelations showing the extent of these cozy and unhealthy media relationships with Podesta ... all pulled directly from The Drudge Report (one media outlet still holding out):

This is just from previous e-mail dumps. There are many more coming and we may indeed see the entire establishment media compromised before this is over. Will it make a difference? One can only hope ... although these reporting lapses must first be revealed to the the American public in general. And how might this happen? Certainly not through the establishment media ...

Ad Hoc

Apple is forming a strategic alliance with Cisco Systems, the huge communications equipment maker ... purportedly for the purpose of better enterprise solutions. However there is one throwaway in this deal that has caught my attention. And that is that this new alliance will provide Internet users better tools to block ads ... see: Fortune Magazine Article. And God knows I and many others would welcome some relief from the deluge of these bothersome pop-ups, wipes and overlays. If given an easy way to cleanse my on-line experience of these annoying distractions, I would jump at the chance ... and I really don't care that this may be damaging some pesky advertisers.

This may be a game changer for online advertising because these ads are the life blood of Google, Facebook, et al ... and are the most annoying aspect of these newer technologies ... and, interestingly, these are the kind of companies that Apple views as its biggest competition. However, there might also be collateral damage from this development ... and that will be that Internet news outlets (The Drudge Report, Huffington Post, etc.) and popular blogs (Powerline, Mother Jones, etc.) might also see revenue declines. Fortunately, for an obvious reason this blog would be immune ... see: No Ads.

Ulcers

I think it was David Sarnoff (among many) who once said, “I don’t get ulcers.  I give them.”  Even though ulcers are now recognized as being most often caused by a bacteria (see: WebMD) and are usually curable, it appears that many in our society are still exhibiting severe dyspepsia ... see: Americans Snapping.  Apart from listing most of the symptoms, manifestations, and palliatives for our society’s current stress levels, this posting offers an interesting insight: 

Make no mistake: This sort of stress on Americans is not only intentional on the part of Team Obama – it is strategic. Remember, these people are revolutionaries (that is, engaged in “bringing about a major or fundamental change,” …) and utterly committed to replacing one societal structure – America’s constitutional, limited-government, free-enterprise system – with another – a socialist, wealth-redistributionist system run by an all-powerful government. 

I myself have sometimes had this very thought when I realize what appears to be our current administration’s irrational and/or extra-Constitutional actions (giving ulcers).  I hope I need not list them here, but take a few moments to reflect on what has recently caused you to stop and scratch your cranium or churn your stomach.  Or try reading The Drudge Report for a few weeks and see if you can’t construct your own extensive list.  Unless you agree with the direction Obama is taking this country, you probably might also need some psychiatric drugs or “medical” marijuana. (Is this why such new state laws are often succeeding at the polls?)

What else might one do?  Rather than buying Maalox or vodka by the barrel-full, you could try my solution and start political ranting on your own Internet blog … it does help.

Spooky Stuff

Don your tinfoil hats folks for a foray into the realm of the spooks.  Our journey starts with a reference on The Drudge Report which points to a story on WND (stands for World Net Daily, a conservative website) which states that a huge explosion at a deep-underground nuclear facility in Iran has caused a considerable disruption to its nuclear ambitions. I recommend that you read this story with a skeptical eye for, as they say, if something sounds too good to be true, it's usually false.  (See: WND Story).  But, on the chance that this sabotage reporting does turn out to be true, then our main-stream media echo chamber has failed us once again … I guess free contraceptives for women really is a much more important issue after all. Either that or the New York Times is finally listening to our government when it is asked not to publish sensitive intelligence information (ha-ha).

I also made the possible mistake of reading through many of the myriad comments attached to this story … some of which are scurrilous and even racist.  But, within these comments, I did pick up references to “secret” weapons which I had never noticed before and which the U.S. might or might not have developed to the point of deployment .  And so I Googled these weapon's names and found the following for HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Project) … see: HAARP Story  and EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) Weapons  … see: Science Magazine Story.  

Both these weapons seem rather avant garde and scary ... particularly if some of our enemies have them also. And I'm sure we probably have other doomsday devices about which we haven't a clue. Now .. try to have a undisturbed sleep tonight ... and cross your fingers about that explosion in Iran.

Is Nothing Sacred?

President Obama let loose with both barrels today in his public and iconoclastic warning to the Supreme Court that overturning his health-care law would be "unprecedented" (see: The Reuters Story)  ... which of course it wouldn't be ... such unconstitutional rulings are the reason d'etre for our highest court.  You would think that Obama who once "taught" the Constitution in college would be aware of this tidbit ... and thus, would not engage in such demagogic bombast.  The Drudge Report has even suggested that this attack on the Court might be because someone had leaked the results of last Friday's secret Supreme Court voting to the White House.  Now this truly would be unprecedented and a travesty of unimagined proportion.

But he wasn't finished ... Obama also said that such an action would be "judicial activism," exactly what Republicans have railed against.  Wrong again Mr. President!  Judicial activism is when courts create law out of whole cloth ... not when they overturn laws passed by Congress.  Negating bad law happens all the time ... just as our founders intended.  I suppose that The Barry can get away with such drivel when he has a dumbed-down electorate and a media that worships at the crease in his pants.  But such illogical flight-of-fancy is way below what our President should be uttering.  Moreover, he also once again demeaned the Supreme Court by snidely saying that they were unelected.  Does this include the two sycophantic Justices that you appointed too Mr. President?  Or are they somehow special?

And lastly, he elevated this Obamacare law by claiming it was passed democratically by a bipartisan "strong majority" in Congress.  Wrong again, Mr. Cool!  This law only made it through our legislature by the unsavory violation of its own rules, without a single Republican vote, and with numerous pork-laden bribes and unkept promises.  I am shocked that a bolt of lightening didn't at least strike near the President after he, so coolly, uttered such profane pap.  And yet life rolls on in our fair country as though nothing monumental has occurred.  Oh, but it has kind readers!  It has!  We have taken one more gigantic step toward Banana-Republicanism.
