Latest Computer Model

The very latest COVID-19 computer model has just been released. Dr. Birx has revealed the results:

- There will be no more polar bears alive after the November elections

- Maro-a-Largo is expected to be under water both physically and financially before the Mexican Wall is finished

- Virtually 9/10ths of the American deaths due to the coronavirus will be the Orangeman’s fault

- For some strange reason all of the coronavirus deaths in Wuhan, China were ... and are predicted to be Uyghurs

- The next coronavirus presser will last 2 1/2 hours

- Elon Musk’s next Tesla model will have a rage of 310 miles ... with the air conditioning and heater off ... no lights or radio on ... and bald tires.

Thanksgiving

When we are gathered around the turkey and cranberry sauce soon, we all should give thanks:

- That Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has decided she doesn’t want to have any children

- For the cold winters in Boston that keeps this city from becoming another Los Angeles for those defecating homeless

- For those Hong Kong protesters who are teaching our American youth the meaning of freedom

- That a political consultant convinced Hillary that she didn’t have to campaign in Wisconsin

- For the Army Corps of Engineers who are building that beautiful Mexican wall

- For that Belgian shepard dog, Conan, which convinced Al-Baghdadi to blow himself up

- That Elizabeth Warren has called for Medicare for All and a wealth tax to pay for it

- That Beto O’Rourke and Bill De Blasio quickly hit the upper limits of their competence

- For President Trump’s internal fortitude

- For America’s crude oil fracking industry that has made us energy independent

Blink?

See: Did Schumer Blink on Shutdown?

Don't forget, dear readers, that when the DACA Amnesty bill likely passes, the president can still veto it unless it includes the Mexican wall and a rollback of the visa lottery and chain migration. (Congress could never override this veto.) Hope so ...

Crocodile Coitus

When he was running for president, Donald Trump promised to "drain the swamp." Now that he is in the DC quagmire he has found it difficult not being intimate with some of its creatures. He has given the Secretary of Transportation job to Senator McConnell's wife, delayed building the promised Mexican wall, failed to deliver an Obamacare repeal, conceded to codify the DACA program and now endorsed an establishment Republican to replace Jeff Sessions in the Senate ... see: Breitbart Article.

This is not a total capitulation for the vast majority of his actions have been swamp-draining. But, being pragmatic after his first nine bloody months, Trump is slowly finding it easier to let some of the denizens in Washington have their way with him if he hopes to get his more significant agenda done. He better be careful however ... his voters are watching this X-rated movie.

The Morning After

Donald Trump seems well on his way to winning the Republican nomination for president. If he can carry Ohio or Florida or both this coming Tuesday, it may well be a fait accompli. Yes, he supposedly is behind Hellery in the one-on-one presidential polling, but there are a number of feasibilities that might upset these predictions ... Hellery might be indicted ... it is certainly possible that Bernie Sander's supporters might stay home in the general election to protest his unfair loss of the nomination ... clearly Trump is garnering many of the Reagan Democrat votes in his primary contests ... and Trump, unlike Mitt Romney,  certainly is winning the enthusiasm game with many current Republicans.

So my conclusion unfortunately is that Donald Trump may well be our next president. Then what? I can envision a very difficult four years listening to someone whose personality grates on me almost as much as Obummer's. If the majority of Trump's current supporters wake up with an equivalent election hangover, then we might have a tough morning after. The degree of this disaffection will depend on Trump's governance. I do believe that he will start out on fire. The "beautiful" Mexican wall will be built. TPP will be renegotiated. A hold will be placed on Syrian immigration. Sanctions will be placed back on Iran (probably unilaterally).  Our military will start to be rebuilt.

But reality will also start to creep in. Trump's liberal core will start to show through his Tea Party patina. His Supreme Court pick will probably not thrill his conservative voters. He may have a very tough time with the old Republican guard in Congress reforming taxes, entitlements and regulations. Many countries around the world are already appalled with the possibility of a Trump presidency. I doubt if all the king's horses and all the king's men will be able to put this egg back together. And his abrasive personality will constantly incite the American media, so that they will take daily pot shots at him ... eventually making important reforms almost impossible.  ... as well as stirring up serious class and race warfare.

I do think Donald Trump, as President, has an outside shot at becoming a cheap copy of  Ronald Reagan. but I am not betting a lot of money on it. I'm already stocking up on ice packs and Alka Seltzer.

The Great Seducer

Donald Trump is a great seducer. He gives young children at the Iowa State Fair rides on his helicopter. He promises old children to build the Trump wall across our southern border with Mexico ... actually now only 1000 miles of a Trump wall for, apparently, it is not needed along the other 900 miles (sound familiar?) Whether The Donald is worth ten billion dollars is unimportant because he behaves as though he is worth that much ... and that is all that counts.

Trump is obviously a huckster in the tradition of P.T. Barnum and Robert Ripley ... and Americans are suckers for hucksters. So there seems an outside chance that Donald Trump might become our next president. I do believe that he could do a ton of good in this role, but he could also do a lot of damage.

If Trump were to go in worth $10 billion, I suspect he might come out worth $50 billion ... unless some strict ethical standards were enforced during his tenure. And, for some stupid reason, this country has gotten quite lax in enforcing ethical guidelines. Perhaps one way that this might be accomplished would be for Trump to be forced to keep Loretta Lynch on as Attorney General? Thus, although Trump might purge the rest of his cabinet of incompetent political hacks, the Aegean Stables at the Department of Justice would have to wait for its catharsis until our next president.
