They say prosecutors can get grand juries to indict a ham sandwich. So, if the Biden DOJ wants the grand jury, already impaneled, to indict Trump on some charge related to document abuse or the January 6 Capitol riots, then this should be a simple matter … say right before the midterm elections.
And they might even care to carry things further in a partisan DC courtroom to try to get an easy conviction to keep him out of the 2024 presidential race. But like most things in life … timing is everything. This is because I don’t believe any such conviction will stand up on appeal … even if it has to go all the way to the Supreme Court.
Bottom line: If MAGA wins huge this November, I think any document case or Jan 6 efforts will be abandoned to keep the Orangeman from becoming even more popular in martyrdom. If not, then the trial would be timed so as to not allow an appeal before a 2024 election run or even election.
They are quite diabolical … and powerful … these never-Trumpers.
