Strange Happenings

Apparently the Wuhan virus hates Republicans and only Republicans — President Trump, Melania Trump, Hope Hicks, much of the Orangeman’s campaign staff, Chris Christie, 3 “R” senators, Kellyanne Conway and Ronna McDaniel all have tested positive ... see: The Hill story.

Is this all due to the supposed “super spreader” event over a week ago announcing Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court? The media would like us to think so. But, considering the extreme precautions taken by the White House to protect the president’s health, one has to wonder ... see: Def-Con News.

I am not a conspiracy theorists ... but I am certainly a skeptic. Anything strange happening this close to an election and Barrett’s confirmation process must be viewed with suspicion. How can Republican Senator Thom Tillis, who was wearing a mask at this event, still come down with Covid? And finally, it would seem to this observer that, while wearing a mask might be helpful in not getting the Chinese virus, a much better strategy might be to declare oneself a Democrat.

At War (Part 4)

Last night on Tucker Carlson, he had a Chinese female virologist who claimed that, because of the profile of the coronavirus genome, it is clear that it was man-made with malign intent ... quite likely in that Level-4 virology research lab right outside Wuhan, China. Wow! Can this be true?

I started zeroing in on this possibility before ... see: At War (Part One) wherein I laid out the predicate for what China was doing to tighten its insidious grip on world economies ... and what Trump was doing as the first president to push back against this threat.

I followed this with more particulars of what China was doing geopolitically and with possible germ warfare upping the ante with parallel aggressions, particularly using North Korea and with the coronavirus ... see: At War (Part Two) and, in particular, the embedded hyperlink: Xi Jinping.

Finally, I speculated that China may have possibly been ready to crack down on Hong Kong and also unleash a coronavirus follow-on to demonstrate to the world the seriousness of its retribution to Trump’s aggressive pushback to China’s world domination ambitions ... see:  At War (Part 3).

Now we have first-hand testimony that China was complicit in this world pandemic ... which I am now inclined to believe. Clearly Xi would prefer Biden to win the next election. He has already invested over $1.5 billion to this end. And, if Trump loses to Sleepy Joe, the coronavirus will be the primary causation. Yes, this is quite a drastic and dangerous solution ... but a solution nevertheless.

QED ...

Out of Sorts

With the pandemic, resulting economic swoon and widespread civil unrest, people are currently feeling all out of sorts ... and this doesn’t bode well for re-electing the party in power ... since incumbents often carry the blame for such problems. Will voters therefore throw the Republicans out of office in November?

The answer to this vital question depends on if it is a “head” or “heart” election. In other words if emotion carries the day, the Orangeman and his posse are toast. If somehow logic prevails ... a realization that Biden is not the solution to all this distresses, then the Republicans have a chance ... a slim chance ... but nevertheless a chance.

How might this minor miracle happen again? Well, a vaccine for the coronavirus would help. And some good employment numbers in the current quarter. And finally, some oil on the civil unrest waters ... maybe some high-profile arrests of anarchists? All would sooth voter dyspepsia ... and not force Trump back to Mar-a-Largo.

Skyrockets

Has anyone become fatigued by the constant media leaks that reveal the Orangeman has done something heinous? (The latest being the Russian-Afghani bribes to kill Americans.) Only to see these bombshells fade like the falling stars of a skyrocket... until the niggling next one bursts.  Since Trump came down that escalator about five years ago, there must have been over twenty of these “fatal” fake revelations ... Trump calls the hoaxes ... none of which did the trick.

One has to admire the close collaboration between the media and the swamp for their doggedness and imagination to keep producing these bombastic brickbats on such a syncopated schedule. My guess is that there will be at least four mote of these glittering gems before Election Day.

You, kind reader, have any guesses?

Impeachment

The Orange Man and America’s Mayor —A Liberal Media View of Things
“It’s Rudy Barr the door!” — Anon.

If the Democrats want all the dirty laundry of 2009 to 20017 to be aired in public, then I suggest that they impeach President Trump and then face in the Senate the cross examination of just about every slimy dirtball operative in the Obama administration ... including, hopefully, B.O. himself. I find it hard to believe that they would allow this airing to occur ... so, I figure that they will do their best to sully Trump in the House with oodles of Schiff-Nadler innuendo ... but never quite get around to voting out the actual indictment ... delaying things so long that the 2020 election would  be adversely affected against the GOP.

I’ve got to believe that the Trump team will try to push things along as best and as fast as they can. If the Dems seem to be slow-walking things ... you’ll know that I’m correct.

In any case, things should get teal bloody .... and the media will be coining money ... one reason they are whipping up a frenzy.

Afterthought: The outcome of Trump’s impeachment cannot be good for two reasons:

1) He loses, which means that many if not all of his agenda items will be scuttled by he Libs and the Clinton crime family will be back in operation

2) He wins, which would mean that his power would be greatly increased. This might be bad if Trump believes that this is a clear mandate ... and it brings out his more autocratic tendencies.

The Acid Test

President Trump and President Xi of China are now engaged in a hot trade war ... after, apparently, a cordial start at Mar-a-Largo soon after Trump was inaugurated and Xi was elevated to president for life. The back and forth escalation of tariffs and broken commitments is complicated ... so, if you need a reprise, please visit: US-China Tariff Timeline.

As seen in the above, China’s obvious strategy in defeating the United States in this trade war is to trump Trump in the 2020 election  ... hoping for a more pliant Democrat to replace him ... Biden, for instance, who it has already greased with a $1.5 billion “investment” in his son, Hunter’s “hedge fund.” Most people suspected this slow-walk strategy when the mutual trade talks leading to a tentative pact was abrogated by China this past May. This complicated deal had been arduously hammered out over the many previous months. And this slap was followed by a Chinese agricultural purchasing agreement that was also shortly reneged on.

Needless to say, this trade war is now getting hotter and the back-and-forth quicker. Trump has even just labeled Xi his “enemy” which seems appropriate ... given the duplicity China has engaged in since May. So, a thinking person has to conclude that no good will possibly come of this tariff pissing contest until after November, 2020. And this then is the acid test.

The American voter quite likely will be given a choice in the next general election ... overcome any distaste for Trump’s reality-TV personality and vote for him ... or vote for the Democrat and signal capitulation to China ... in this extremely consequential trade war ... so consequential that it might well mean the beginning of the end of American hegemony in the world. I realize that this all sounds melodramatic ... but this contrast and it’s consequence is bound to be drawn more sharply in the months ahead.

So, kind reader, study up.

Afterward: Me thinks that China is banking on a substantial portion of the American public voting to have us step back from center stage and let someone else take over ... after all we voted twice for the man who clearly had this as an objective ... and the world cheered ... they even gave him the Nobel Peace Prize ... his name of course: Barack Hussein Obama.

Boiling the Frog

“The era of economic surrender is over.” — President Donald J. Trump

Trump is turning up the heat on China. He says that he will impose 10% tariffs on the remaining $300 billion of imports from China starting September 1st. Last December he slapped 10% tariffs on $250 billion of imports from China ... then raised them to 25% in May when China reneged on a deal that had been almost fully negotiated. If China does not make the huge agricultural buys that it has committed to (but already reneged on once), I fully expect that this second tranche of tariffs will go to 25% sometime next year. Trump is slowly boiling the frog ... or, should I say, dragon.

As I have often predicted, China is obviously hoping against hope that Trump will lose the election next year and that he will be replaced by an Obama clone (maybe even Michelle) in order to be restored to the old status quo. Obviously, the tariffs that Trump has so far imposed have slowed down capital investment by US companies ... which has, in turn, slowed our economy by about one percentage point. If and when higher tariffs go into effect, economic growth may slow further which would reduce Trump’s chances of getting re-elected ... which is also likely part of China’s strategy. However, if this gambit does not work, China will end up with a worse deal in 2021 (as Trump has warned.)

The other predicted bugaboo is the threat of US domestic inflation. This has been anticipated from our previous tariff impositions ... but, so far, nada ... a good sign that China is mostly paying these tariffs with lower prices and a devalued currency. Also US companies are beginning to move manufacturing out of China ... a trend that may well accelerate this Fall if China continues to be recalcitrant. This cannot be a trend that China relishes. But will it blink first and jump out of the boiling pot? As Trump often says, “We’ll see what happens.”

Brownie Points

Right now China, North Korea, Iran and others are slow-walking any compromises with the United States based upon the upcoming presidential election, a year from November. They obviously are hoping, even expecting, that some Democrat Obama clone will prevail and their contest with American will be won by default.

It seems that Trump understands this and so he keeps predicting that these negotiations should drag on for quite a while. However, dear reader, if there are any breakthroughs in any of these stand-offs, it will likely be because such adversaries have become convinced that Trump will prevail ... and want the brownie points therefrom. And, of course, such an event will make Trump’s victory even more assured.

So watch for it.

Normalcy

A primary reason that Joe Biden is leading in the Democrat polls ... and a possible reason he might be elected is that he offers “a return to normalcy.” This supposedly means that all the lunacy and chaos that America has supposedly experienced over the last three years will supposedly disappear and the country’s anxiety level will be substantially reduced.

Clearly there is some genius to this strategy ... if the Dems and their media can convince the American voter that this will occur.   But there are some speed bumps to be reckoned with:

One will likely be AG Barr’s investigation into the investigation. If this inquiry turns up substantial wrongdoing on the part of the Obama administration ... as I believe ... then it will become obvious that the previous presidency, although appearing “normal” on the surface, was corrupt underneath. And Biden binding himself to Obama means this might not have been such a good idea.

Also, Donald Trump can make the argument ... as he already has started doing ... that he has been cleaning up the debris from former administrations ... the last of which included Biden as a key player. He has acted as the sanitation department sweeping up the road apples left by, to name one, Obama’s parade.

And lastly, the Republicans can point out that the old normal was constructed on a foundation of globalism ... and that our country’s destiny is now nationalism. Giving up all the progress that Trump has made in this direction will be counterproductive and a loser in the long run. In other words, America cannot throw in the towel in round one of our competition with China for world hegemony.

Yes, Trump has changed the game ... a game in which we now have a chance of prevailing ... where we were sure losers under the old normal.

Cover Up

“‘Revelation is a cover up.’ This is right out of George Orwell”  — Joseph diGenova

A friend today asked me at lunch if I thought Trump had “covered up?” I took it to mean — has he ever cut any corners, so I replied, “probably.” But now, upon reflection, I realize he meant — do I agree with Nancy Pelosi when she accused Trump of a cover up?

In this context, I should have answered in the negative ... because, if I have to guess, the dowdy dowager must be accusing Trump of covering up in the House’s attempt to redo the Mueller investigation. Nobody who is fair and campos mentis believes that Adam Schiff or Jerry Nadler have any but raw political motivations in their attempt to redo the Mueller witch hunt. Besides, Trump’s order to his intelligence agencies to provide AG Barr with any documents he wants ... and he may declassify them if properly redacted ... is the absolute antithesis of a cover up. As Joseph diGenova notes, Trump is revealing Deep State dirt ... not covering it up.

One obvious purpose of the initial Mueller Russian collusion hoax was to cast a pall over Trump and his party so that the Democrats could retake Congress in 2018. Well they did win back the House and have since asked for a Mueller redo so that they can further smear Trump ... and bamboozle the American electorate in 2020 ... to finally rid us of this orange-hair swamp creature exterminator.

So Trump has said, “NO, I’m not going through this gauntlet again.” Trump was extremely open and cooperative with Mueller in his toxic but impotent investigation. Trump’s White House counsel, Don McGahn, was interviewed by the Mueller tag team for 30 hours ... and shouldn’t need to do this again. Trump had no need to permit McGahn’s first testimony because of executive privilege and clearly doesn’t need to allow a kangaroo court rehash of this same inquisition.

If this is what Nancy Pelosi and my friend meant by this new Democrat talking point “cover up,” I clearly side with Trump. It is a smarmy and purely political slur ... and I applaud Trump for pushing back ... and for giving Barr this extraordinary power to open the blinds on what many intelligence communities were doing to submarine Trump and his presidency.

If Nancy Botox has some other definition of “cover up,” I think she is obliged to come forward with the details ... before her House caucus becomes a laughing stock.

Juggling Numbers

Is anyone surprised that our government has just announced ... 11 days before the elections ... that our economy grew much more vigorously ... at 2.9% in the third calender quarter of this year? This compares to roughly 1% growth in the first two quarters. This can easily be seen to be a cynical attempt to help Hellary in her bid for the presidency ... and to buff up Obummer's legacy. But I am again suspicious. Can not the federal number crunchers in Washington have stolen a smidgen of economic growth from each of the first two quarters of this year and dropped it into this quarter?

We are pretty sure that Obummer's Labor Department had previously juggled employment numbers for political purposes in 2012 right before his re-election ... so why not do it again ... but this time with the big Lubowski ... our whole economy?

On the breaking news that the FBI is reopening its investigation into the Hellary e-mail scandal, I suggest that Trump supporters not get too ahead of this story. The Clinton crime family is notoriously nefarious and I would not be surprised if other revelations come forth over the weekend that take two or three more turns in this affair. I am suspicious that there might be dramatic counter measures taken by the Clintonistas. The bacon might be in the fire ... but it is yet to be totally consumed by flame.

From Russia with Love

In the last week the number of hits to this blog has grown exponentially ... and they are mostly from Russia. I've been scratching my head over this anomaly until I saw the dump of 20,000 embarrassing e-mails that Russian hackers had siphoned off of the Democrat National Committee servers ... which is causing havoc right before the Democrat convention ... see: Daily Mail Article. I can't help but believe that the Ruskies are monitoring all kinds of political blogs for the  run-up and reaction to this dump.

There is even speculation that this e-mail exposure by the Russia is engineered to get Donald Trump elected. Wouldn't that be interesting! Does this mean then that, come late October, we will get to see those 30,000 "personal" e-mails that Hellary had scrubbed from her e-mail server? Gee, Vladimir, I hope so!

Ham and Eggs

I have a little egg on my face about my blog on General Carter Ham's replacement surrounding the Benghazi, Libya incident (see: Ham Sandwich).  Apparently General Ham is still on the job and I am unsure as to how much of my narrative regarding him is valid.  I am sorry about this misinformation.  However, I still believe that much of the rest of the referenced blog is accurate ... and, in fact, I am now even more convinced that the death of many of the Americans there could and should have been avoided.  Stay tuned ... as I suspect it will not be until after the upcoming election before we hear "the rest of the story."
