Legislative Fibrillation

A rapid irregular heartbeat is called cardiac fibrillation ... and it often precedes a heart attack or even death. The irregular and frenetic stunts emanating out of the House of Representatives of late, centering around Trump’s impeachment, put this observer in mind of legislative fibrillation.

The Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler tag team seems to be orchestrating a staccato disruption of the norms usually enjoyed on Capitol Hill ... with the clear intent of emasculating our president ... using whatever weird and twisted tactics it takes ... a solemn sinister plot.

This unconstitutional and farcical finagling might well be presaging a heart attack for this Deep State cabal ... hopefully resulting in its figurative demise.

Rash

The mindless media has decreed that healthcare reform was the reason that Democrats won the House of Representatives in 2018. Balderdash! It was the Mueller investigation into Republican collusion with Russia in order to get Trump elected in 2016. This sham probe sullied the GOP enough to flip 31 House seats in districts that Trump had previously carried ... 41 in total.

Now the voters in these districts have learned that Mueller was merely a dotty figurehead in a huge Democrat hoax ... and many will also understand that Trump’s laughable impeachment is nothing more than Mueller warmed over — just another attempt to smear Republicans enough that Trump will not win against Biden. This is all a donkey wet dream.

Voters are often politically naive but not that naive. The Republicans will not only win back the vast majority of the House seats that they lost in 2018, but they will carry many more ... to easily take back the House ... expand their lead in the Senate ... and the Orangeman may even win the popular vote.

I realize that these are rather rash predictions a year out from the actual election ... but this rash is itchy and I am compelled to scratch it.

Cover Up

“‘Revelation is a cover up.’ This is right out of George Orwell”  — Joseph diGenova

A friend today asked me at lunch if I thought Trump had “covered up?” I took it to mean — has he ever cut any corners, so I replied, “probably.” But now, upon reflection, I realize he meant — do I agree with Nancy Pelosi when she accused Trump of a cover up?

In this context, I should have answered in the negative ... because, if I have to guess, the dowdy dowager must be accusing Trump of covering up in the House’s attempt to redo the Mueller investigation. Nobody who is fair and campos mentis believes that Adam Schiff or Jerry Nadler have any but raw political motivations in their attempt to redo the Mueller witch hunt. Besides, Trump’s order to his intelligence agencies to provide AG Barr with any documents he wants ... and he may declassify them if properly redacted ... is the absolute antithesis of a cover up. As Joseph diGenova notes, Trump is revealing Deep State dirt ... not covering it up.

One obvious purpose of the initial Mueller Russian collusion hoax was to cast a pall over Trump and his party so that the Democrats could retake Congress in 2018. Well they did win back the House and have since asked for a Mueller redo so that they can further smear Trump ... and bamboozle the American electorate in 2020 ... to finally rid us of this orange-hair swamp creature exterminator.

So Trump has said, “NO, I’m not going through this gauntlet again.” Trump was extremely open and cooperative with Mueller in his toxic but impotent investigation. Trump’s White House counsel, Don McGahn, was interviewed by the Mueller tag team for 30 hours ... and shouldn’t need to do this again. Trump had no need to permit McGahn’s first testimony because of executive privilege and clearly doesn’t need to allow a kangaroo court rehash of this same inquisition.

If this is what Nancy Pelosi and my friend meant by this new Democrat talking point “cover up,” I clearly side with Trump. It is a smarmy and purely political slur ... and I applaud Trump for pushing back ... and for giving Barr this extraordinary power to open the blinds on what many intelligence communities were doing to submarine Trump and his presidency.

If Nancy Botox has some other definition of “cover up,” I think she is obliged to come forward with the details ... before her House caucus becomes a laughing stock.

Bubble Brain

I've often thought that nobody should be allowed to vote unless they can name the three branches of our government (legislative, executive and judicial), Now, newly-elected New York City Congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has exhibited stunning ignorance of even this simple fact. She thinks this answer is the "the president, the Senate and the House" (her new venue). If you don't believe me, please watch: Daily Wire News Video.

Now this 29-year-old new Representative has gone from being a Bronx bartender to a $175,000 per year gig helping to guide our ship of state. She has a cum laude degree in economics from Boston University and has promised her equally-clueless voters free healthcare, free housing, free college and just about free everything else ... without any clear idea of how to pay for this largess. (She also wants to eliminate the Columbus Day holiday.)

She clearly is a babbling bubbling brain ... naive as to what she is getting into. Unfortunately, she is not by herself in that reform school under the dome in Washington, DC.

No Reverse Gear

It seems that liberals like to drive without a reverse gear.  A bill is now wending its way through the U.S. Senate once again extending unemployment benefits beyond 99 weeks.  Although this bill is likely to be stopped in the House ... particularly if the Democrats cannot find spending offsets ... it will surely still become grist for the 2014 election mill.  As too will the Democrats' attempt to increase the national minimum wage by almost three dollars from the current $7.25 ... see: Politico Story.

Now if our bettering unemployment rate is truly reflective of an improving U.S. economy, then it would seem that now might be the ideal time to cut back on such pork-barrel largess being doled out by our Washington lefty pols to their potential voters.  Of course this is too much to ask ... we are talking about Democrat politicians after all.  But if our figurative car-of-state can never back up, we most surly will eventually run headlong into a brick wall.  Are the current sponsors of these social benefits not counting on being passengers when this occurs?

Sadist-in-Chief

Anyone with a pulse should understand our Administration’s strategy regarding the government shutdown and the consequences of not increasing the government’s debit-limit.  That is to inflict maximum visible pain on the American public … generally on those people who have the least ability to fight back … and to where our Snidley-Whiplash President (now at a 37% approval rating) and a cooperative media can shine a tsk-tsk spotlight.

Thus, veterans are excluded from an open-air World War II memorial and those violating this ban are arrested, National Institute of Health monies to treat children with cancer are eliminated, death benefits are denied for soldiers killed in Afghanistan, money generally available for fuel-oil assistance is cut, motorists are forbidden from stopping at roadside pull-offs to view Mt. Rushmore, dire warnings are given by our Treasury Secretary as to how the world will end on October 17th unless the debt limit is raised, etc.  (For many more instances, see:  Breitbart Story)

The fact that Republicans in the House of Representatives have daily been passing bills to eliminate most of these petulant public punishments (only to be killed by Harry Reid in the Senate) doesn’t seem to make it into the nightly network news. Meanwhile, illegal immigrants are given free-access to the National Mall, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting just got a $445 million grant, Obama-phones are still being given away en masse, etc. … see: Daily Caller Story

It seems that President Obama and his minions want the American public and the Republicans to cry “uncle” rather than to have them chant “Uncle Sam.”
