Today’s Poser

Perhaps, just perhaps it is because Donald Trump is so reviled by so many Americans that this becomes his motivation to fix so many of our nation’s problems ... such as calling out China ... and draining the swamp that is Washington, DC?

STAND UP FOR AMERICA!

Skyrockets

Has anyone become fatigued by the constant media leaks that reveal the Orangeman has done something heinous? (The latest being the Russian-Afghani bribes to kill Americans.) Only to see these bombshells fade like the falling stars of a skyrocket... until the niggling next one bursts.  Since Trump came down that escalator about five years ago, there must have been over twenty of these “fatal” fake revelations ... Trump calls the hoaxes ... none of which did the trick.

One has to admire the close collaboration between the media and the swamp for their doggedness and imagination to keep producing these bombastic brickbats on such a syncopated schedule. My guess is that there will be at least four mote of these glittering gems before Election Day.

You, kind reader, have any guesses?

Abuse of Power

There have been very few periods in recent American history when the party in power has not grievously abused that power. ... FDR, LBJ, RMN, WJC, GWB, BHO.  At the moment, likely because he has been distracted by his attempts to reverse the previous administration’s carry-over despotism, we are enjoying a relative autocratic lull. The real measure of his presidency will be how well Trump behaves once he has effectively drained the swamp that has been, until now, tirelessly working to take him down.

The Truth

President Trump has been very effectively painted by the media as a serial liar (something like 13,000 lies since he took office) ... when, in fact, he is possibly the greatest truth-telling politician of our lifetimes. That is why he is president and has such adoring crowds. It is the media liars who refuse to recognize this truth (and his truths.)

Here are a few of Trump’s truths:

- American leaders have allowed China to steal us blind over the last 30 years

- The American economy could be a lot better

- The US needs to have the best military in the world

- Our judicial system too often creates laws, does not interpret laws

- Many European allies have stepped back and let the U.S. carry the majority of the responsibility for keeping the world safe

- The United States will never be a Socialist country

- Spending our treasure and the lives of our youth to “fix” other nations is foolish

- Global warming is a gigantic scam

- Washington is a swamp filled with too many self-serving and often dishonest bureaucrats

- Republican campaign colluding with Russia was a media/Deep State attempted cabal

- Russia under Putin is a bad actor ... but it can be useful in countering China and the radical Muslim threats

- Nations without borders are not nations

- Patriotism and respect for our flag is not a sin

- Much of our media dispenses “fake news” shaped by Liberal politics

- Immigration, even large immigration, is good only if controlled and selective

- Iran and North Korea are dangerous enemies and need to be put in a box

- There are a number of other despotic nation’s around the world which are not our friends but, nonetheless, need to be dealt with so that they don’t become our enemies

- Israel and Great Britain are our closest natural friends and need to be treated as such

- The UN is a very expensive, yet ineffective “world government”

- Liberal-run cities ate generally failing their citizens

- Blacks and Latinos have been ill-served by their Democrat masters

ENOUGH?

Reality Show

The Apprentice

Donald J. Trump is  mocked as being nothing more than a washed-up  reality show host who stumbled into the American presidency. There is a certain juicy irony to this insult ... in particular because Trump has finally brought reality to our governance ... perhaps because of the clear eyes acquired on his reality shows. He has:

- recognized the reality of Jerusalem being the capital of Israel and moved out embassy there.

- acknowledged that many of our previous trade deals are bleeding this country dry ... and need to be renovated or scrapped.

- realized  that Washington, DC is infested with self-serving reptiles ... a swamp that badly needs draining

- saw that immigration into the United States is regulated by many cockamamie laws.... assuming that they are even obeyed. The whole process needs to be revamped and our borders secured.

- understood that our continually appeasinfg of North Korea and Iran has produced no good results. Our approach needs to be  hardened and confrontational if we have any hope of averting a nuclear holocaust.

- deciphered that the only thing that had been driving our economy has been the Federal Reserve's easy money  policy ... and that tax cuts, regulation reform and infrastructure spending are required to get our economy and employment back on track.

-  realized that the global warming  hysteria was a gigantic hoax and an covert attempt at wealth redistribution.

- sensed that our mi litany had been hollowed out and needed to be rebuilt.

If Trump's reality show experience has helped open his eyes to these and other realities our country was suffering under, then, rather than a mocking slur, this has been a positive... and provided him the keys to the White House.

Semantics

As Aldous Huxley recognized in his book "1984," semantics have a lot to do with persuasion. The right word or phrase can often win the day in a political food fight or an advertisement. Here are some recent examples of such for good or for bad:

Little blue pill = Viagra

 The Swamp = Washington, DC

White male privilege = reverse discrimination

Diversity visas = visa lottery

Male enhancement = bigger penis

Dreamers = (often adult) children of illegal immigrants

Principled press = Meryl Streep's idea of newspapers

Leading from behind = following the flow

Undocumented citizens = illegal immigrants

Strategic patience = modern term for lasse faire

Earned Income Tax Credit = a form of welfare using tax refunds for taxes not paid

Performance in the bedroom = sex

Mud Wrestling

What is plentiful in a swamp? Why, mud of course! And this mire is being thrown around in Washington "like it's candy. " It's not wrong to point out that President Trump has had a lot to do with much of this slime-ing  ... justified or not. However, Marco Rubio quickly learned last year that trying to play this same game did not help his cause. His taunts of Trump just made him look petty.

But, not learning this lesson, other daring-dos are jumping into the ring trying to out-insult Trump. Even the Bushes, who carefully had avoided taking on Obama during his term (which would have been justified), are instead going after the current president.

Still many others are slinging mud balls at Trump ... Chuck Schumer, Mitch McConnell (both the minority and majority leaders of the Senate for heaven's sake), Mika and Joe, a host of CNN hosts, Mark Cuban, the Congressional Black Caucus, Jeff Flake, Kim Jong Un, Robert Corker, Lie-a-watha, etc. But most of Hollywood have pulled in their horns because of their metastasizing sexual scandals (which demonstrate a different set of horns). Still they were big players in this game for a while.

Unfortunately the referee in this mud wrestling match is Special Counsel Robert Mueller ... who has caked and dried mud all over his shoes and up to his "I'm with her" button. A neutral arbiter, he is not.

Quote of the Day

I take it back. Washington isn't a swamp. It's a cesspool, a sewer. -- President Trump

Afterward: If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog. -- President Truman
