Groundhog Day

Today is Groundhog Day ... again. Somewhere in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania Nancy Pelosi is waking up to a beeping clock radio ... preparing to collude with Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler to impeach the Orangeman.

Legislative Fibrillation

A rapid irregular heartbeat is called cardiac fibrillation ... and it often precedes a heart attack or even death. The irregular and frenetic stunts emanating out of the House of Representatives of late, centering around Trump’s impeachment, put this observer in mind of legislative fibrillation.

The Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler tag team seems to be orchestrating a staccato disruption of the norms usually enjoyed on Capitol Hill ... with the clear intent of emasculating our president ... using whatever weird and twisted tactics it takes ... a solemn sinister plot.

This unconstitutional and farcical finagling might well be presaging a heart attack for this Deep State cabal ... hopefully resulting in its figurative demise.

Stock Funds

Believe it or not, this whole impeachment hoax has an upside ... IRAs and 401Ks around the country keep inflating along with the rhetoric heat of these never-Trumpers ... my funds included. So pilgrim, when I see Schiff, Nadler and Pelosi praying for America or solemnly quoting our founding fathers in their condemnation of President Trump ... I find solace by calling up the growing balances of my stock funds.

Abuse of Power

For the sake of this discussion, let us assume that President Trump was seeking political advantage by asking the Ukraine to investigate its interference in the 2016  presidential election and Joe Biden’s possible quid pro quo in getting his son appointed to the Board of Directors of Burisma at $83K per month. This request,  according to the Democrats, is abuse of power ... in that Trump was trying to influence the results of the upcoming presidential election by demeaning a potential opponent.

Now, carry this charge forward to today ... are Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler also trying to influence the next election by investigating and accusing Trump of all sorts of wrongdoing ... using their impeachment process? Of course!

Ergo, the Democrats are engaged in exactly the same supposed malign process that they are trying to impeach Trump with ... from which it is pretty certain he will be acquitted. But this process is intended to leave a political stain ... obviously designed to damage Trump’s chances next November. Why would one be wrong and not the other? Should Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler also be impeached for their sinister abuse of power?

Gaetz Gets My Vote

Representative Matt Gaetz from Florida #1 took those three ivory-tower twits, claiming to be law professors, to the woodshed yesterday in the Nadler impeachment circus. Play the above ... multiple times for effect. If I lived in his district, I would vote him lifetime tenure.

Pedagogical Pedantry

Jerry Nadler has struck-out once again! He started off his impeachment inquiry hearings yesterday with testimony from three smug liberal law professors ... loudly sniping their hatred and condemnation of President Trump ... each vying for next year’s Profiles in Courage award. Yes, there was another liberal law professor, Jonathan Turley, who also testified softly and logically ... asking for due process and fairness ... but everything was done to ignore or deflate his sensible statements.

After listening to these three never-Trump professors pontificating in front of the House Judiciary Committee as to what was an impeachable offense ... quite strangely and uncharacteristically for legal scholars ... stating facts where there were no facts ... and mouthing the Red Queen’s “off with his head” ... I was struck by something strange. Assuming that their suppositions and presumptions were valid ... I became convinced that President Obama should have been impeached.

Afterward: We now know that Nadler fell asleep during his own hearing. I can understand ... except for Professor Turley’s testimony ... this rehearsed kangaroo court was a snoozer.

Trump v. Pelosi

Rep. Jerry Nadler is giving President Trump until Friday to name his witnesses and decide if he will have White House counsel present in the upcoming House Judiciary Committee hearings on impeachment ... see: Nadler Deadline Letters.

This throwing down the gauntlet is meant to call the Republicans bluff on their complaints lodged against what went on in Adam Schiff’s Intelligence Committee Kangaroo Court hearings last week ... and therefore pose a dilemma for the Trump defenders — put forward a strong defense of Trump in the House impeachment phase ... or wait until the Senate trial where defensive actions can’t be voted down by a partisan Democrat majority.

This Trump vs. Pelosi strategizing all gets very complicated on both sides ... in terms of timing relative to the Horowitz IG report on the FISA court abuses ... and the Barr/Durham ongoing criminal investigation into the predicate for the Russian collusion investigation. Chairman Nadler (really Pelosi) has said that his hearing won’t just be on the Ukraine/Burisma matter but also on the warmed-over Russian collusion issue. How’s that for throwing all the balls in the air?

Clearly, if Trump calls witnesses involved in either of these charges, he could be undercutting their impact upon the public with their revelations ... because such revelations would be forthcoming in a hostile environment where they could be blunted by rulings of the chairman or the full committee votings. This would not be the case in a Senate trial. On the other hand, Chairman Nadler has done a rather ineffective job in previous hearings meant to embarrass Trump: Mueller’s report testimony and the Corey Lewaindowski debacle.

There is even a chance that Pelosi is hoping that the Nadler hearings might be a way of backing Trump down so she might quietly kill this whole impeachment thing ... which has not gone as she and Schiff had expected. In any case, I predict that it won’t be a Pelosi win.

But it should be riveting ...

Extra! Extra!

Read all about it!

The White House has taken the logical position (to me) that it does not have to respond to Adam Schiff subpoenas unless and until Nancy Pelosi holds an impeachment inquiry vote in the full House ... see: CNBC Article. This of course should evoke a three-alarm fire in the hair of Democrats and the media. Watch for it.

So far, Pelosi has tried to have her cake and eat it too ... by holding off on a full House vote to save those Democrats in swing districts from having to jump on the impeachment train. Now, she either must hold a impeachment inquiry vote in the House, or litigate this Trump decision and try to maintain momentum as this controversy moves through the courts.

Unless, of course, Representative Adam Schiff (or Nadler) can manufacture another media-supported hoax. Wait for it.

Impeachment

The Orange Man and America’s Mayor —A Liberal Media View of Things
“It’s Rudy Barr the door!” — Anon.

If the Democrats want all the dirty laundry of 2009 to 20017 to be aired in public, then I suggest that they impeach President Trump and then face in the Senate the cross examination of just about every slimy dirtball operative in the Obama administration ... including, hopefully, B.O. himself. I find it hard to believe that they would allow this airing to occur ... so, I figure that they will do their best to sully Trump in the House with oodles of Schiff-Nadler innuendo ... but never quite get around to voting out the actual indictment ... delaying things so long that the 2020 election would  be adversely affected against the GOP.

I’ve got to believe that the Trump team will try to push things along as best and as fast as they can. If the Dems seem to be slow-walking things ... you’ll know that I’m correct.

In any case, things should get teal bloody .... and the media will be coining money ... one reason they are whipping up a frenzy.

Afterthought: The outcome of Trump’s impeachment cannot be good for two reasons:

1) He loses, which means that many if not all of his agenda items will be scuttled by he Libs and the Clinton crime family will be back in operation

2) He wins, which would mean that his power would be greatly increased. This might be bad if Trump believes that this is a clear mandate ... and it brings out his more autocratic tendencies.
