Election Politics

There are a number of complex moving parts that may impact the November presidential and Congressional elections. Here are a few that I see:

- If many colleges move to virtual teaching and do not repopulate their campuses, then this typically liberal student block will be only voting from home ... and not from home or/and from where they go to school. This might help the Republican candidates in New Hampshire and Maine.

- Trump’s polling on his handling the coronavirus pandemic is currently unfavorable. If cases continue to spike ... with deaths to follow, this can’t be good for his re-election chances. However, a vaccine and effective therapeutics might be a game changer if they come soon enough.

- And the coronavirus has also been beneficial to Biden because this is the excuse for his interactions with the media being carefully managed. It might also be the rationale for his ducking some or all the debates with Trump. This would be of great benefit to his chances. Even worse, the pandemic also now eliminates Trump rallies which have provided much of the data for his get-out-the-vote efforts.

- The Durham/Barr investigation may (or may not) culminate with indictments and lots of captured news cycles ... hopefully before the voters go to the polls.

- If mail-in voting becomes pervasive for this coming election, then voter fraud could be a game changer ... and is something that worries Trump quite a lot.

- If it becomes obvious that new cases and/or new death numbers for COVID-19 have been cooked and were used as a Democrat political weapon, this might change things somewhat for those voters who follow such stuff.

-If certain Blue states, like California and New York resist sending their children back to school in September, then their economies will suffer ... possibly dramatically when compared to those states that choose schooling. Generally these are Blue states and I don’t expect that they will flip to red ... but you never know.

- If Biden wins, it will not be because voters adore him ... it will be because they are voting against that onerous orange ogre Trump.

Brought to Heel

SloJoe Biden has pledged not to pardon Trump were he to beat the odds and get elected president next fall. Interesting!  On the other hand, AG Barr has contemporaniously indicated that it is very unlikely that either Obama or Biden will be hauled before the docks in what Trump has dubbed “Obamagate.” In other words, even if our previous administration was up to their eyeballs in trying to overthrow their follow-ons, because of a vague notion of preserving a semblance of peaceful transition of power,  the previous villanous top conspirators will skate.

Now, I understand the logic of Barr’s stance ... and am not surprised at Biden’s petty campaign grandstanding ... but there needs some sober reflection on this giving a pass to previous presidents and vice presidents from any criminal prosecutions. I tend to think that Biden’s stance makes more sense ... but let’s be frank ... if Obama and Biden  were involved in subterfuge against Trump and the Trump administration, they should be prosecuted and appropriately punished.

Why do I feel this way?

If justice is not served, then as we have repeatedly seen, the next offense is even more audacious ... and I think that the Obama miscreants crossed a threshold of tolerance. Barr is wrong. Even if their crimes implicate the top dogs, the previous administration needs to be brought to heel.

The Dems have already telegraphed that, if Biden were to win, they will try to prosecute Trump. Turnaround is fair play.

2020 House Election

How can the Republicans win back the House of Representatives next Fall? Well, how about this? Many of the Democrats flipped GOP seats by swearing to oust Nancy Pelosi as the House tyrant. This hasn’t happened ... in fact she has become even more despotic. Republicans should rub the noses of their election opponents in this hypocrisy.

However, one problem ... I fully expect that this next election will exceed anything we have ever seen in the amount of voter fraud practiced mostly by the Democrats (practiced? hell they’re professionals) ... particularly if vote-by-mail becomes widespread like just occurred in California.

Anything is justified if it cuts the legs off of the Orangeman!

Also: I am personally convinced that the Mueller investigation was also part of the Democrats’ winning the House in 2018. Perhaps, just perhaps the American public has had the scales fall from their eyes over this gigantic hoax ... if not now, maybe after the Durham/Barr revelations later this year?

Out Like Flynn

If, dear reader, there is anymore concrete proof that anti-Trumpers are compliant sheep, look no further than how they (you?) are reacting to the General Flynn exoneration from his conviction of lying to the FBI.

Typical Liberal: Baa, baa, baa ... AG Barr is a partisan ... covering for Trump!

Me: Have you read any ... or even about any ... of the documents that are the predicates for this Flynn exoneration?

Typical Liberal: Baa, baa, baa ... no I don’t need to. I have heard what Comey and Schiff have said in response to this legal travesty! These public servants are obviously innocent of any collusion ... and didn’t Flynn plead guilty! Enough for me ... baa, baa, baa.
