Trump v. Pelosi

Rep. Jerry Nadler is giving President Trump until Friday to name his witnesses and decide if he will have White House counsel present in the upcoming House Judiciary Committee hearings on impeachment ... see: Nadler Deadline Letters.

This throwing down the gauntlet is meant to call the Republicans bluff on their complaints lodged against what went on in Adam Schiff’s Intelligence Committee Kangaroo Court hearings last week ... and therefore pose a dilemma for the Trump defenders — put forward a strong defense of Trump in the House impeachment phase ... or wait until the Senate trial where defensive actions can’t be voted down by a partisan Democrat majority.

This Trump vs. Pelosi strategizing all gets very complicated on both sides ... in terms of timing relative to the Horowitz IG report on the FISA court abuses ... and the Barr/Durham ongoing criminal investigation into the predicate for the Russian collusion investigation. Chairman Nadler (really Pelosi) has said that his hearing won’t just be on the Ukraine/Burisma matter but also on the warmed-over Russian collusion issue. How’s that for throwing all the balls in the air?

Clearly, if Trump calls witnesses involved in either of these charges, he could be undercutting their impact upon the public with their revelations ... because such revelations would be forthcoming in a hostile environment where they could be blunted by rulings of the chairman or the full committee votings. This would not be the case in a Senate trial. On the other hand, Chairman Nadler has done a rather ineffective job in previous hearings meant to embarrass Trump: Mueller’s report testimony and the Corey Lewaindowski debacle.

There is even a chance that Pelosi is hoping that the Nadler hearings might be a way of backing Trump down so she might quietly kill this whole impeachment thing ... which has not gone as she and Schiff had expected. In any case, I predict that it won’t be a Pelosi win.

But it should be riveting ...

Irrational Animosity

There is a whole lot of hate directed at President Trump ... and, when one tries to peer behind this animus, one does not find rationality ... one finds only gut-level rancor. Asking for a list of reasons for this hatred produces: “he’s a serial liar,” “he demands loyalty above all else,”  “he is totalitarian,” “he is overweight,” “he is a racist,” “he is a bully,” and so forth ... lots and lots of ad hominems.

Most of the substantive criticisms directed at the Donald ... “he colluded with Russia,” “he attacks freedom of the press,” “he tried to bribe the Ukraine into sliming a political opponent,” etc. have not been proven or do not resonate throughout America. This, of course, drives the spittle-flecked Trump haters even more nutso.

It would seem to this observer that the more rabid becomes the haters’ hate, the more Trump supporters are annoyed by this irrational animosity and support the Orangeman even more.

The Resisters’ strategy to get rid of Trump is not working ... a circumstance they refuse to recognize. They believe if just John Bolton were to testify ... or if Zelensky were to say he felt pressured to investigate Biden ... then Trump’s support will collapse ... and our country will return to the good old ways.

Fat chance!

The Real Russian Collusion (Updated)

Why was our Ambassador Marie Yovanovich recalled by Trump the very night before the new reform Ukrainian President Zelensky was inaugurated?

Could it be that Yovanovich had been too close to the former corrupt Ukrainian President Poroshenko and seemed to be a pebble in the shoe of any future U.S.-Ukraine relations ... working against Trump and his attempt to get to the root of the previous Biden-Burisma corruption and 2016 U.S. election-meddling fraud? Could it be that Zelensky didn’t want her to attend his inauguration and that is why she was told to get on “the next plane?”

Obviously I don’t know this for sure, but such timing cannot be coincidental ... and it is revealing that, if this nexus got out, it would not be beneficial to either country.

But Zelensky clearly favors Trump over Obama ... see: Washington Exanimer Story. After all, Obama and his Ambassador Yovanovich were hostile ... and had favored the Russians ... and I surmise were colluding with them (evidence: no Obama arms assistance to the Ukraine, nor any real pushback when Russia annexed the Crimea. Also don’t forget Obama saying to Medvedev on a hot mic to tell Putin that “After my election I’ll have more flexibility” (see below). That was in 2012 ... Russia annexed Crimea in early 2014.

Like most Democrat accusations, too often, they themselves are doing what they are accusing  ...

Prediction: In the Barr/Durham investigation into the origins of the Russian collusion probe ... which has now turned criminal ... the first person to be flipped and turn states evidence to reveal all the dirty secrets of the cabal against Trump will be ... [drum roll] ... Clapper!

And he will sing like a canary ... unless he is first taken down into that Arkansas coal mine full of dangerous gases.

Deflection

The Democrats are masters at deflection. All these California wildfires are not due to forest mismanagement on the part of these woke Libs. They are caused by that ogre “climate change” which, in turn, is Trump’s fault for pulling out of that Paris climate fraud.

Increased crime rates in many cities around the country are not due to open borders and sanctuary-city policies.  They are caused by Trump’s xenophobia and his racism.

Trump was involved in Russian collusion to win against Hillary ... when just the opposite was true. This trope is classic deflection or also known as transference by the shrinks — accusing me of doing what you, in fact, are doing.

I actually am surprised that the Dems haven’t started to make this same case — Trump is the true deflector ... and his investigation into all the intelligence community‘s malfeasance in 2016, 2017 and 2018 is to cover up for what his minions are doing today. This would be known as deflecting a deflection.

Smoking Gun

James Clapper, Obama’s Director of National Intelligence (a misnomer if there was ever was one), has admitted on national TV that his then Commander in Chief, the Chosen One, personally directed Peter Strzok to open operation Crossfire Hurricane, the Russian collusion investigation against Trump BEFORE HE WAS ELECTED! If this is not a smoking gun, I don’t know what is ...

Sour Pickle

If it is an impeachable offense for Trump to prompt an investigation of a possible opposition candidate for president during this candidate’s campaign, what then was the Russian collusion probe  ... with all its Obama intelligence agency intrigue ... when Trump was in the final months of his candidacy? This truly is a sour pickle to chew on.

All In

Now that Nancy Pelosi has been buffaloed by Pencil Neck Schiff into opening an impeachment inquiry, the Democrats have pushed all their chips into the center of the table ... betting that they can either impeach and convict Trump ... or so damage him that he will lose in 2020. Pelosi has even indicated that it would  be worth losing the House of Representatives if this means Trump is no longer in the White House. Not a good idea ...

Now, in mathematics, there have been extensive studies on how to win such games ... centering around which strategy offers the best payoff. I won’t take you kind readers into the technical weeds here, but suffice it to say that, by far, the best decision rule is “minimax” meaning minimizing your potential maximum loss ... which is exactly the opposite of what the Dems are now doing.

Yes, it is possible that this all-in bet on the Trump impeachment might just fool the American people and Trump might be deposed. But, if this next sure-fire tactic, the Ukrainian Connection, fails like the Russian Collusion, the Stormy Daniels Payoff, the Government Shutdown, the Emoluments Violation, etc., etc., then the Democrats may well suffer what Pelosi most worries about.

If this Ukrainian balloon deflates ... as it most probably will ... then the Botox lady’s dire prediction may well be prescient ... and the Democrats will spend the next twenty years in the wilderness ... repenting their evil ways and wishing that they had some chips left.

Media Cabal

A recently revealed New York Times editorial “town hall” meeting dealt with the Gray Lady’s strategy to defeat Trump next year. The gist of this confab was, now that the Russian collusion hit on Trump has failed, the new tact was to paint our president as a RACIST ... see: Slate Story.

This strategy has already been evident in the NYT and much of the rest of the lefty media ... even to the point of abandoning the term RACIST as becoming over-used ... and moving on to the more damning pejorative WHITE SUPREMACIST. This obviously is designed to cut into Trump’s growing popularity with black and Hispanic voters.

I suppose that it is not surprising that the NYT has chosen sides in this political battle. But I am a little taken aback at such open editorial direction for its reporting ... and the implicit coordination with other media outlets.

Trump has survived the Russian collusion cabal between the media and Deep State. Will he survive this one?

Bowel Blockage

Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his posse of 18 partisan attorneys as well as legions of FBI agents and others spent 22 months and tens of millions of dollars trying to prove that Trump or his campaign colluded, conspired or cooperated with Russia to win the 2016 election. Mueller came up empty on collusion and took a pass on obstruction of justice ... possibly the only noble thing that he did in this whole sordid affair.

Since pretty much the whole Democrat establishment and media was convinced that Mueller would take down Trump, his report became indigestible. Now the Democrats have a serious bowel blockage and are taking increasingly desperate moves to stay regular ... including Mueller’s demagoging yesterday.

And so dear reader, their purgative actions in the House and media probably will result in predictable results. The question becomes who will be soiled in the process. I have some obvious thoughts.

Russian Collusion

As James Holzhauer approaches the $2 million level on the Jeopardy quiz show, something seems a little strange to me. How come James seems to know almost every single obscure question ... but appears to step aside and allow the other contestants capture many of the simpler ones?

If I were to speculate on one solution to this puzzle, it would be that he may know all the answers and questions ahead of time ... and maybe even the locations of the Double Jeopardy answers. In all his appearances he has not missed a single Final Jeopardy question and only one Double Jeopardy one.

Yes, Holzhauer may have a photographic (eidetic) memory or may have deciphered to patterns of how the Jeopardy clues are put together. But somehow his background doesn’t suggest to me that he is the intellectual giant that his performance suggests. He seems more cagey to me. He is a gambler ... a high stakes gambler who has figured out how to beat the house. And, is ... big time.

I do not speculate on his performance out of jealousy ... only out of curiosity. I hope we  eventually figure out how this phenomenon came about.  And I also hope he (and the show) is legit ... and there is no Russian collusion involved.

Lemonade

The Mueller Special Counsel report on the Russian investigation found that Donald Trump and the Trump campaign did dot collude, conspire or cooperate with Russia in the 2016 presidential election ... and did not uncover enough evidence to find, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Trump obstructed justice during  this investigation ... although, strangely, added that it could not “exonerate” him either.

Now Democrats, the mainstream media and much of the deep state seem to be living in an alternative universe in that they are still swearing that Trump did collude with Russia in order to best Hillary Clinton. Additionally, this same cabal is trying to squeeze the last bit of juice out of these dry obstruction-of-justice lemons to keep this controversy alive until at least the 2020 presidential election ... for obvious reasons.

The lemonade that they are pulling out all stops to make seems quite weak indeed. So weak that I have to doubt that it will slake the fair-minded thirst of American voters in the next election. It will just accentuate the pucker of those Democrat sourpusses who made it.

Pundits are not shy about making predictions ... and this includes non-pundits like myself. And some of these predictions take on a life of there own and become generally-accepted memes.  A few examples of these popularized memes being — global warming, Russian collusion, cold fusion, AI hegemony, 5G, vaccination dangers, simulated reality, driverless cars, a social media society, meatless nutrition, totally renewable energy, colonizing our solar system, etc.

Some of these memes have an enormous economic cost ... and the rub comes if and when they turn out to be wrong. Oops! What happens then? What if global warming driven by human fossil fuel usage is finally debunked? Is Al Gore going to be made to pay for all the economic dislocation he caused? He certainly benefited greatly from his prediction. Perhaps he could be made to pay alimony to the American people as well as Tipper?

Diagones

I have ben surfing the liberal media trying to find an honest Trump accuser who, after some soul searching, has had an change of heart in response to Mueller’s exoneration of Trump in the fake Russian collusion charges. You would think that, given Trump’s clean bill of health, some stand-up Democrat would realize that it might be a good idea to get contrite and on the right side of history ... maybe some recently-elected representative from a purple district?

Despite scant evidence of such clear-eyed honesty, I have found only one liberal who has sidled up to this embarrassing moment — David Brooks, opinion writer for the New York Times. He has conceded that the media needs a little self-examination as a result of the Mueller findings ... see: NY Times OpEd.

But I don’t expect a tsunami of such half-hearted attempts at honesty.

Afterthought:  The Mueller witch-hunt was really not in vain ... the Dems did win the House last Nov.

It’s Mueller Time!

Today might be the day ...

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s staff is departing for Greener-New-Deal pastures ... and the world is waiting with debated breath for his report that is supposed to finally drive a well-done steak through Donald Trump’s non-black heart.

Mueller has been charged with determining if Trump and his campaign colluded with Russia to overturn the results of the last presidential election ... and, subsequently, obstructed justice in the investigation of this offense. Mueller is clearly a dichotomy. As a former head of the FBI under Bush ‘43 and Barack Obama, many swear to Mueller’s apolitical and impeccable integrity. While others, like myself, feel that Mueller is in the vanguard of a slow-motion coup against a sitting president. Absolutely shameful!

Why do I feel this way? Because during the last two years enough evidence has presented itself to suggest exactly the opposite ... that it was Hillary Clinton and her henchmen who conspired with Russia to affect the outcome of the 2016 election. Through a cut-out  law firm, the DNC paid for the infamous “PeePee Dossier,” a manufactured and unsubstantiated document which attempted to tie Trump and Company with the Ruskies. It was used illegally to wiretap the Trump campaign and collude with the main stream media to constantly besmirch Trump and destroy many around him.

If Mueller had been an honorable prosecutor, he would have, in the first months of his investigation, swung to investigation the obvious culprits in this drama, Peter Strzok, Bruce Orr, James Comey, Lisa Page, Rod Rosenstein, John Brennan, Loretta Lynch, Andrew McCabe, Sally Yates and possibly dozens of others in this Deep-State cabal who came very close to pulling off this disgraceful spook coup.

Many of the innocent have been smeared by Mueller and his thugs ... and all the truly giilty are walking ... a forever stain on our Democratic governance.

Barr Tab

It seems a reckoning is coming in our previous fast and loose federal justice system. It is not so obvious yet ... but everyone will soon see it and it may not be as expected. It’s revelations should occur in just the next few months. William Barr has been confirmed as our new attorney general and decisive things are beginning to occur. It is hoped and expected that the deep-state bias and wishy-washiness at the Session’s DOJ is now a thing of the past.

Rod Rosenstein is to be leaving the DOJ in a few weeks and Bob Mueller is rumored to be preparing his final report ... which many are whispering will not amount to what liberals around the country have been salivating for: Donald Trump has not been colluding with the Russians. Donald Trump did not obstruct justice before and after his election. No one in Trump’s campaign has colluded with Russia and it is not clear that Russia changed even one vote in the 2016 election. The only Mueller indictments and convictions that have occurred as a result of this witch-hunt were either for events that occurred years before Trump came down his escalator ... or were process crimes of “lying” to his kangaroo court.

But the rampant lying by FBI and DOJ employees and former employees, the Clinton crime family, and many others in the Obama administration ... have been broomed by Mueller investigators. This averting of eyes hopefully should disappear under AJ Barr. This certainly would be a refreshing change.

Who?

What president has overridden his military generals on battle plans ... has castigated and investigated the national media ... has been suspected of colluding with the Russians ... has defied Constitutional scholars and courts with his executive orders ... his foreign policy has been confused and disruptive ... has demanded complete loyalty from those around him ... has been accused of crony capitalism ... his economic judgments have often been questioned ... has been a divider not an uniter ... yet is still adored by a good percentage of Americans as he is comfortably ensconced in a D.C. mansion.

How has he weathered all that has gone wrong ... and yet he still preserveres? A huge ego and self confidence, that's how!

Of course, we're talking about Barack Hussein Obama ...

Back when Saturday Night Live was funny, Gilda Radner played a reporter named Roseanne Rosanadana who would weave an elaborate animated news story based upon a semantic premise. After it was pointed out by her partner that her semantics were in error, she would pause and, with a flip, say "never mind ..."

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's DOJ boss Rod Rosenstein held a press conference on Friday in which he announced indictments against 13 Russians and 3 Russian companies for engaging in "information warfare" to sew discord in America's election process ... both for and against Trump and other candidates ... likely deep-sixing the whole Trump-Russia collusion allegations ... which were the original basis for this Special Counsel.

Never mind ...

However, Mueller has not closed up shop ... so he may still be working to pin Trump with something, like having extramarital sex with a Playboy bunny ...
