Media Cabal

A recently revealed New York Times editorial “town hall” meeting dealt with the Gray Lady’s strategy to defeat Trump next year. The gist of this confab was, now that the Russian collusion hit on Trump has failed, the new tact was to paint our president as a RACIST ... see: Slate Story.

This strategy has already been evident in the NYT and much of the rest of the lefty media ... even to the point of abandoning the term RACIST as becoming over-used ... and moving on to the more damning pejorative WHITE SUPREMACIST. This obviously is designed to cut into Trump’s growing popularity with black and Hispanic voters.

I suppose that it is not surprising that the NYT has chosen sides in this political battle. But I am a little taken aback at such open editorial direction for its reporting ... and the implicit coordination with other media outlets.

Trump has survived the Russian collusion cabal between the media and Deep State. Will he survive this one?

Intimidation

A clear tactic of the left is to intimidate its opponents. Joaquin Castro, twin brother to Texas Rep. Julian Castro who is a  Democrat presidential candidate, has put out a hit list of Republican donors (called doxxing) to try to get them punished by their employers, friends or neighbors. Kind of a low-life thing to do IMHO ... and not something seen (yet?) on the right. Also the left has organized flash mobs to loudly protest outside the homes of Mitch McConnell, Tucker Carlson, Brett Kavanaugh, etc. to intimidate them into submission. Thankfully, it didn’t work.

But the Castro boys and other menacers are not alone. Intimidation from the left is a popular political pastime. What was the Mueller investigation but an attempt to throttle the Trump team from fixing the carnage that Obama left in his wake? The masked ANTIFA is organized to intimidate, physically intimidate. Biden threatens to take Trump behind the barn. While Kathy Griffen cuts of his virtual head. The spittle-flecked rhetoric of the Democrat talking heads — RACIST, NAZI, WHITE SUPREMACIST, etc. — is designed to cower their opposition ... a tactic that they learned from Trump, but have escalated it to the moon and beyond ... no slackers they.

So Trump has helped create a monster ... a monster that is now out to devourer him. Will it succeed? Or will it devour them? We’ll see what happens.

The Nazi

It is almost uncountable ... the number of times that President Trump has been likened with Hitler. He is a Nazi.  A racist. He is anti-Semitic. A white supremacist. A KKK lover. He is a Fascist. A NATIONALIST!

He is going to have the army shoot stone throwers in the Central American caravan. He is fulminating all the ANTIFA violence. He wants to outlaw the First Amendment to the Constitution. He is colluding with Putin. He winks at Khishoggi's Saudi assassins   ... it goes on and on ..

I guess all those who hate Trump and see him as Il Duce are delighted that the Democrats have won the House and impeachment proceeding can begin in the new year.

Sticks and Stones

White supremacists, xenophobes, Islamophobes, anti-Semites, sexists, Nazis, KKKers, racists, even Putin's cock holster -- these are some of the brickbats that the left loves to throw around "like candy" to keep conservatives off balance. And, all too frequently, they work to stifle many voices of those who actually fit none of these slurs. That old saying that "sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me" may work in the playground ... but not on the political stage. These "names" have been effective at silencing the right.

Whose fault is it that these epithets do take hold? Obviously, if they didn't work, they wouldn't be in wide use.Well, not the accused ... since very few actually meet these descriptors. But Trump did get this game going with his often-clever nicknames for his opponents, both Republican and Democrat. Now, in retaliation, the left and the media have found a few unfortunate molehills (like those few dopes in Charlottesville) that they can now turn into these Everest smears ... the starting list given above.

Moreover, of late, the left has apparently  decided that slanders are not sufficiently vindictive, So its ANTIFA, Black Lives Matter and other Trump-resistance sects have resorted to those old reliables ... sticks and stones.

Nasty Nazi?

The media is working up a sweat trying to brand Donald Trump's new Chief Strategic Adviser, Steve Bannon, as a racist, anti-semite and white supremacist (neo-Nazi if you will).  And if you didn't know much about this man, before he became the head of Breitbart.com, he produced and/or directed 18 mostly documentary movies often centering on conservative subjects. So a story in Politico by Adam Wren who binge-watched all of Bannon's movies and wrote about his experience caught my attention ... see: Politico Article.

You can read this hop scotch, highly-hip and overly written analysis if you wish, but there is one passage that captured my attention. I can save your slogging through the entire rest of this word safari by just reproducing this revelation below:
But one thing I was sure of was that the Bannon that emerges in his documentaries is occasionally a contradiction from the Bannon we’ve come to know in recent months. For as much gnashing of teeth as there’s been about Bannon’s white nationalist ties, his documentaries largely steer clear of racial themes, though most of his subjects and talking heads are white Christians. There was Shelby Steele, the Hoover Institution fellow who calls himself a “black conservative.” In “Generation Zero,” Steele wonders how “white guilt” contributed to the financial crisis. “Since the 60s, white Americans have been in a place where they constantly have to prove that they are not racist,” he says. “It is that phenomenon of white guilt that presses people in the government to say things like ‘Everybody has a right to a house.’ Unfortunately, capitalism doesn’t work like that.”
Now would Bannon give such a film spotlight to this black thinker, Shelby Steele, if he were a white supremacist?
