Change

Barack Obama promised “hope and change” when he ran for president. Once elected, he did institute change ... lots of change ... change that favored immigrants, the greenies, China, Russia, the Ukraine, Muslim countries and those south of the US border. But never came through with the “hope” part. When Trump took over, he too has changed things ... mostly by reversing those damaging Democrat policies.

So why were Obama’s changes so readily accepted and Trump’s so vehemently resisted?

May I suggest that Obama’s changes advantaged those above-noted third parties while disadvantaging the unaware American middle class. Trump’s changes have mostly reversed these Obama wealth and hegemony flows.

And the resisters to this change are the environmentalists, globalists, media, Deep State and some foreign governments ... all whom had benefitted under Obama’s reign.

Middle Americans sense this u-turn and the resulting relief to their political frustrations. This is why Trump’s rallies are overflowing and why he will likely be re-elected with a larger electoral margin than he received in 2016. Americans will not be whipsawed once again with re-heated Democrat give-aways.

Freedom

Yes, many legal and illegal immigrants come to America for our handouts and for our permissive criminal climate ... and, even though I have at times been a sourpuss, I still want to believe that our primary appeal is ... FREEDOM!

(Maybe we should try to make like-minded Hong Kong our 51st state?)

Just Us

The back and forth in the courts surrounding Trump’s immigration policies and wall funding makes it blatantly clear that our court system has become so politicized that justice is now almost totally relative and not based upon legislative intent. Mostly liberal judges ... and even some Supreme Court justices ... feel that they can make executive decisions on how immigrants are housed, processed and transported ... independent of the clear text of our laws.

Just recently a Ninth Circuit judge has enjoined the White House from enforcing previous immigration law that explicitly states that asylum-seeking  migrants must apply for asylum in the first country they enter after leaving their “oppressive” homelands. Trump has decided to follow this law and deny asylum to any Central Amman migrants who first didn’t apply for refuge in Mexico. That is what the law says ... but, to a liberal judge, this makes no difference ... and Trump has been so enjoined ... see: Politico Article.

Like many other Ninth Circus decisions, this one will likely be overturned in the appeal process. But these judges apparently don’t really care for their legal legacy. Because they have once again thwarted Trump and delayed his agenda ... and that is what is important. Just us in San Francisco!

Toilet Water

AOC has claimed that at one of the “concentration camps” (immigrant detention centers) on the Mexican border, women and children are being made to drink out of toilets. Although Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her posse have not actually witnessed this debauchery, she avows these indignities are occurring in bathrooms “without running water.”

The important questioned not asked by her sympathetic media entourage: “How can a bathroom without running water have any water in its toilets?” I actually think that AOC hasn’t enough brain cells to realize the incongruity of these two statements.

A responsible media would challenge AOC’s sliming of our border patrol ... asking who was so degraded, who degraded them, where was this bathroom for inspection ... and who was the firsthand source of this claim? Then, following things up with interviews of these parties.

Have you noticed any media seeking this information? Neither have I. Fake news? Therefore I can only conclude that this despicable Bronx House Rep is as phony as a two peso bill. And she should be held to account for her slandering of our public servants. But I’m not holding my breath.

Sweet Irony

The Democrats have been waging an obvious strategy of throwing open our border to pack this country with legal and illegal immigrants with the expectation that these appreciative newcomers would counter a growing national conservative trend toward Republicans.

A great many of these immigrants, particularly in the southwest and far west US, are Hispanic ... and, as Diane Feinstein is learning, they may not maintain a loyalty to those who opened the doors to them. Senator Feinstein wanted to run for reelection in California and has just been shocked to lose her party's backing to ... drum roll please ... a Latino. What's that old chestnut, "hoisted on her own petard."

Twenty or thirty years from now, if current trends persist, there will likely not be a single elected politician in America's southwest and far west who is not of Hispanic origin. And to increase the treacle tone of this irony, since this ethnic group is naturally conservative, they may even identify then as Republicans.

Anyone, who doesn't find lip-smacking justice in how this Democrat voter-packing strategy is beginning to backfire, is not paying attention.

Semantics

As Aldous Huxley recognized in his book "1984," semantics have a lot to do with persuasion. The right word or phrase can often win the day in a political food fight or an advertisement. Here are some recent examples of such for good or for bad:

Little blue pill = Viagra

 The Swamp = Washington, DC

White male privilege = reverse discrimination

Diversity visas = visa lottery

Male enhancement = bigger penis

Dreamers = (often adult) children of illegal immigrants

Principled press = Meryl Streep's idea of newspapers

Leading from behind = following the flow

Undocumented citizens = illegal immigrants

Strategic patience = modern term for lasse faire

Earned Income Tax Credit = a form of welfare using tax refunds for taxes not paid

Performance in the bedroom = sex

Open Borders

"A nation that cannot control its borders, is not a nation." -- Ronald Reagan

A devoted reader, who happens to agree with us that global warming is a scam, however does believe that the United States needs to open our boarders to anyone and everyone who wants to settle here. Now, I can understand and even admire that someone whose ancestors have benefited from past liberal immigration policies, might want to extend such a benefit today to the less fortunate of the world (a number in the billions). However, the U.S. is filling up. We now have hundreds of millions more people than during past immigration surges. And today we also have an incentive almost as powerful as the past immigrant draw, freedom ... lots of free stuff ... free stuff that liberal states love to provide illegally to these newcomers ... whether here legally or not. The impetus to provide this largess too often comes with a quid pro quo -- give us your (often illegal) votes.

We lock the front doors of our homes for a good reason ... because, if we don't, bad actors will likely invade our homes and take what is our family's ... or worse. And since we all want the fruits of our labors to go to our own and we like our charity to be voluntary, not forced, we don't want our neighbors to force us to open our houses to possible mischief or even mayhem. I strongly suspect those advocating for open borders also lock their own home doors. They may want me to leave my portals open, but I chose to ignore them unless they leave their doors open too ... at which point I will be forced to question their sanity ... and mine.

When we do invite people into our homes, I think at a minimum we have to know that:

- this is voluntary and not compulsory
- our guests would not harm us
- they would not steal from us
- they would not be exposing us to disease
- if they are staying, that we have the necessary space and accommodations
- if they are staying, that they would eventually leave if we asked
- if they are staying, that they would be contributing to the commonweal
- if they were staying, they could not invite in others
- and finally, they could not take possession of our home

Cannot we ask the same of immigrants to our country?

Ban Ban

Image result for bam bam

No, this is not about the Flintstone's baby ... it is about the Trump administration's travel ban from those seven terrorist-laden countries and why its replacement has been repeatedly delayed. We have learned that over five thousand migrants have entered the U.S. since the courts have blocked Trump's travel ban. And we are now into possibly the fourth postponement of the remake of this ban. What's the delay? See: CNBC Story.

Is this all about synchronizing the news cycles? Is it about the perfidious Ninth Circuit Court? Is it about expectations for subtrafuge from leftover Obama bureaucrats (the Deep State)? Is it because of Jeff Sessions' troubles at the DOJ? I wish I knew ...

If a terrorist attack occurs because of this ban hiatus, most of the media will most certainly blame these administrative delays ... and not the Ninth Circus.
