Where are the Left leading their snowflake acolytes? Like the Taliban did to that huge stone Buddha in Afghanistan, they are jackhammering the presidents' faces off of Mt. Rushmore. The above picture was taken when they were 3/4s done. The plan is to replace these old dead white presidents with likeness of Barack Obama, Hugo Chavez, Mao and Pol Pot.

Next, the plan is to dynamite the Confederate generals' likenesses off of Stone Mountain, Georgia. Suggested replacements include Ho Chi Minh, Saul Alinsky and Bill Ayers.

David vs. Goliath

Donald Trump is in an epic struggle with the establishment media and much of our elite society. He has vowed to "drain the swamp" in Washington and the swamp seems equally dedicated to draining him. This is a cage match where there can only be one winner and, considering the odds, this winner is unlikely to be Trump. Yes, Trump does have huge chunks of middle America on his side, but his enemies are targeting various pockets of his supporters by slow-walking his campaign commitments ... and concocting devious narratives to turn them against him.

And they are quite likely to succeed because of their sheer numbers and the ferocity of their attacks. It is David vs. Goliath... and  David's only effective weapon is his Twitter account. And even there, Trump's aim is sometimes errant. So my realistic expectation is that Trump's sizable opposition will eventually grind him down and he will leave the White House a beaten man.

But what if he wins? What if David fells the giant Goliath? This is almost unthinkable, but what if he does? What might be the consequences? Here are some thoughts:

- Online media might then dominate the news business. Some cable news channels (CNN) might disappear ... but most will surely be eclipsed.

- Our traditional two party system (some might claim it's a one-party system)  might expand into three or even four contenders. Trump, like Teddy Roosevelt, might be the father of one of these newbies.

- Hollywood will start making some pro-conservative movies.

- Most politicians will take to Twitter (or its equivalent) to communicate directly with their public.

- The "resistance" will go underground ... hoping to reemerge at some later date.

- Trump might eventually find his way onto Mt. Rushmore. Gasp!

- America will be great again ... at least for a while.

Anyone with a pulse should understand our Administration’s strategy regarding the government shutdown and the consequences of not increasing the government’s debit-limit.  That is to inflict maximum visible pain on the American public … generally on those people who have the least ability to fight back … and to where our Snidley-Whiplash President (now at a 37% approval rating) and a cooperative media can shine a tsk-tsk spotlight.  

Thus, veterans are excluded from an open-air World War II memorial and those violating this ban are arrested, National Institute of Health monies to treat children with cancer are eliminated, death benefits are denied for soldiers killed in Afghanistan, money generally available for fuel-oil assistance is cut, motorists are forbidden from stopping at roadside pull-offs to view Mt. Rushmore, dire warnings are given by our Treasury Secretary as to how the world will end on October 17^th unless the debt limit is raised, etc.  (For many more instances, see:  Breitbart Story)

The fact that Republicans in the House of Representatives have daily been passing bills to eliminate most of these petulant public punishments (only to be killed by Harry Reid in the Senate) doesn’t seem to make it into the nightly network news. Meanwhile, illegal immigrants are given free-access to the National Mall, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting just got a $445 million grant, Obama-phones are still being given away en masse, etc. … see: Daily Caller Story

It seems that President Obama and his minions want the American public and the Republicans to cry “uncle” rather than to have them chant “Uncle Sam.”

Ronald Reagan … let me start by ashamedly admitting that I didn’t vote for the man … either time. (“He’s just a B-movie actor.”) Can I write this off to the misguided, fuzzy-thinking liberalism of my youth? But, by watching all the tributes being paid to Ronnie running up to what would have been his 100th birthday (tomorrow), I now realize how totally wrong-headed I was. Not only do I admire this man now, but I realize that he may well have been our best President of the 20th century.

So let me here be (one of the) first to propose that his likeness be added to Mt. Rushmore … say to the left of George Washington.

And let us take all the granite chips that fall to the base of the mountain from this sculpting endeavor … and form them into Barack Obama’s scrawny backside.
