Obvious Truth

“Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative ...” — Johnny Mercer

Read the establishment media (you know the ones). Watch CNN, NBC, MSCDC, CBS, ad the rest of these liberal outlets. Follow the Trump haters on the Internet. It becomes clearer and clearer that, in the midst of this Wuhan pandemic, the nitpicking liberal media are not part of the solution to this crisis ... they are a major part of the problem.

Networks

Ever wonder what the letters in the alphabet networks stand for? Well, you’re in luck. I recently found an old dog-eared copy of TV Guide and, on page 52: found the following revelations to help us decode these network abbreviations:

CNN — Colluders’ News Network

MSNBC — Maligners Shoveling Noxious Bull Crap

CBS — Crazy Before Sanity

CNBC — Can Not Be Candid

ABC —  Actively Berating Conservatives

PBS — Pretty Banal Simpletons

NBC — Nasty, Bilious Cowards

 NPR — Neo-Progressive Radicals

I was not surprised at these translations ... are you?

Crazy Toxic Stuff

From his bully pulpit, President Obummer is once again attacking the right-wing media for poisoning the minds of Americans by "pumping out crazy toxic stuff." Apparently it is not enough for the libs in this country to have most of the mainstream media in their corner ... CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, NPR, BBC, CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post, the New York Times, USA Today, Time magazine, the Atlantic Constitution, the Chicago Tribune, the LA Times and (increasingly) Fox News, etc., etc.

What is the toxic right-wing media? Some talk radio such as Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, Howie Carr, etc. and a few Internet blogs/news sites, such as the Drudge Report, Powerline, Breitbart, Michelle Malkin, Fletcher's Castoria, etc. And even these new media outlets are being manipulated and surpressed by virtually all the social media sites ... which are now clearly lining up on the left.

Are we Americans still allowed to pick and choose how we get our news and opinion? It would seem that, if Obummer has his way, the answer is "no". Those perceptive writers of our Constitution anticipated demagogues such as our current president and gave us the First Amendment guaranteeing freedom of the press ... now expanded to all our media outlets. But this freedom seems too much for our current political leadership. And, if you peruse the many comments on this blog, this poison supposedly is corrupting my thought processes to the point where I am requested to use only thought-police-approved sources.

I don't recall ever castigating any commentaters on this blog for how they get their news or opinion ... so why should I be so conscripted? All too often the arguments I make here are refuted by Trump-style pejorative comments, not reasoned logic ... something one should not expect from ACLU card carriers. So I would dearly appreciate it if our president and his acolytes stop calling me and mine names or asking us to limit our reading only to lefty-endorsed outlets. Refute us with your burning reasoning ... not that of Obummer-approved spin-meisters. This is dangerous rhetoric coming from our POTUS.

Back-Door Firings

The culture of Japan is such that it is humiliating and therefore difficult to fire people. So the interesting solution there is to create a subsidiary and move all of a company's dead wood into this spin-off. Then, being that there is little to no talent there, this subsidiary invariably goes bankrupt and all of its employees find themselves out of work ... with these back-door firings. Problems solved ...

So this back-door solution may be also what NBC has found for Brian Williams ... transfer him to MSNBC as a working partner of Al Sharpton, Chris Matthews, and Special Ed Schultz ... and then let the devil take the hindquarters. MSNBC is now on life support with its ratings plummeting on a regular basis ... see: Politico Story. So when this network eventually sinks under the waves, Brian Williams and his fat multi-million dollar contract will be obviated in kind.

Space Shot

The London Sunday Times has a downer story on Richard Branson’s pie-in-the-sky space endeavor, Virgin Galactic.  This effort, started in 2006, was to transport regular citizens into space.  So far this Virgin enterprise president has collected $80 million in deposits (@ $250,000 a pop) from aspiring neophyte astronauts for the trip of a lifetime … see: The Sunday Times Article and Branson has spent a few hundred million himself.

The only trouble is that some of these depositor’s lifetimes may run out before this spacecraft actually rockets them into space (apparently for only a few short minutes).  The initial launch date set was 2007 and this has been continually revised back … the last ETD being Christmas, 2013 … which didn’t happen.  The next target is August, 2014 for which NBC has promised extensive coverage … see: Next Big Future Piece.

Apparently the rocket that was used in the first VSS Enterprise (now version 2) was underpowered for passengers and had only been able to achieve two sub-orbital test-flights… for extensive details on this evolving process and newer developments see: Dailytech Story

I am not usually as skeptical as I am for this type of endeavor, but I have, in the past, expressed doubts about Richard Branson’s vision and New Mexico’s excessive spending on a spaceport … see: Beam Me Up Scotty.  Now that such flights may possibly (someday) happen, it just seems to this blogger that a few minutes in suborbital space is hardly worth $250,000 and being exposed to the many risks involved … let alone Branson turning it all into a commercial success.

The 11th Commandment

One of the boat anchors on Republican Presidential chances in 2012 was the many heated debates between the numerous candidates in which they repeatedly scoured one another.  This was, of course, relished and abetted by the leftist national media … many of whom gleefully moderated these brawls.  By the time Mitt Romney emerged as the GOP’s candidate he had already been well tarnished by these debate fusillades and the numerous Democrat-sponsored ad smears.  These Democrat brickbats had largely gone unanswered since Romney’s media spending was limited during the primary season.

It seams that this pattern is beginning to repeat itself for the 2016 election.  Rand Paul and Chris Christie already are going at it tooth and nail … see: Breitbart Story ... while Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democrat candidate, sails on upon unruffled seas.  If I find it difficult to imagine Chris Christie ever ripping into her the way he is savaging fellow Republicans, why should he have any standing as a potential Republican candidate?

But perhaps, just perhaps, the Republicans may be learning from their 2012 failures.  The Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman, Reince Preibus, has already indicated that CNN and NBC are unlikely to be hosting the 2016 Republican primary debates … see: The Hill Story.  Given Candy Crowley’s moderating performance in one Obama/Romney debate, I think that this decision is a slam-dunk … at least for CNN.  Of course, if the RNC uses only conservative-leaning moderators, it will probably lose coverage in the left-leaning media … BFD.

The remaining fault-line for the Republicans is this continued internecine warfare.  Strong leadership from the RNC might also help solve this problem.  This group could easily decree that repeated sliming of fellow Republicans equals a disqualification for participation in future Republican Presidential debates … an enforcement of the “Eleventh Commandment.”  The Eleventh Commandment is usually attributed to Ronald Reagan.  It goes “Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.”  Yes, this would be a little dictatorial on the part of the RNC, but then, if Ms. Chipmunk Cheeks wins in 2016, we would be living in an audacious autocracy anyway.

Full Eclipse

The Barry has announced he would like to schedule his "jobs speech" to a joint session of Congress for the same night (Wednesday) and at the same time (8:00 PM) as the next Republican debate at the Reagan Library (see: Schedule Conflict).  Clearly this timing is meant to eclipse the audience and news coverage of this debate (the first to include Rick Perry.) This otherwise important debate event is to be broadcast on NBC.  The White House has suggested that, if this conflict is a problem,  the debate can be rescheduled.  Small-minded is a complement for this Administration action and I'm sure it is designed to get Republicans "all wee-wee-ed up" (to use an old Obama quote.)

An opening salvo such as this suggests that the coming election campaign on the part of Democrats will be beyond dirty ... it likely will be despicable.

Postscript:  The Barry's "jobs speech" has been petulantly moved to Thursday night.
