Networks

Ever wonder what the letters in the alphabet networks stand for? Well, you’re in luck. I recently found an old dog-eared copy of TV Guide and, on page 52: found the following revelations to help us decode these network abbreviations:

CNN — Colluders’ News Network

MSNBC — Maligners Shoveling Noxious Bull Crap

CBS — Crazy Before Sanity

CNBC — Can Not Be Candid

ABC —  Actively Berating Conservatives

PBS — Pretty Banal Simpletons

NBC — Nasty, Bilious Cowards

 NPR — Neo-Progressive Radicals

I was not surprised at these translations ... are you?

Ukraine Intervetion

The revered Schiff testifier, Dr. Fiona Hill, assured us that the Ukraine did not interfere in the 2016 presidential election ... it was only Russia ... see: Hill of Beans. Why is this important? Because Trump was asking the new Ukraine President Zelensky in his famous July 25th phone call to look into this supposed hacking by the Ukraine into the DNC server (remember Crowd Strike?) ... and, if this and other interference was bogus, then Trump is stupid and his request was clearly an attempt to bribe Zelensky ... according to Schiff, an impeachable offense.

Well pilgrim, here are a set of hyperlinks to articles that raise the specter of 2016 Ukraine interference ... all pointing to events over two years before Trump raised this issue with Zelensky and something our security expert on the Ukraine, Fiona Hill, must have had come to her attention:

The Hill Story

The Nation Article

CBS News Story

New York Times Article

Yes, for sure pilgrim, Fiona Hill must have misspoke or mis-remembered when she testified that only Russia, not the Ukraine had interfered in the 2016 election ... under oath no less. Don’t forget she was the uber-expert! But that wasn’t her only failing ... she previously had advocated against arming the Ukraines against the Russians. Such Trump-bias buffoonery!

Boarding-House Reach

For those readers who don't even know what a boarding-house was, let me explain. Back in the day there used to be such places that, not only rented you a room, but also included meals (board) ... usually just breakfast and dinner. So, those, who were the hungrier of the guests, would greedily reach across the table for servings before their turn ... or they had "boarding-house reach" or rude avariciousness.

Today this term can easily be applied to politicians who greedily grab for headlines ... or items featured on TV news programs. An example: the salacious story that the lefty media is currently pushing (yes, the landlords can participate in this game too) is that President Trump had an affair some twelve years ago with Stormy Daniels, a porn star. The idea of this "reach" headline is obviously to detract from all the good economic news of late and the possible disarmament breakthrough with North Korea. So this porn star story is featured, often just to exclude the other good news ... and to demean Trump and stir the pot with his family.

Of course, the Trump organization tries to fight back by hyping the Kim Jong-Un possible breakthrough or easing up on promised tariff impositions ... all very much like a wild scramble for the mashed potatoes at the boarding house.

Now, CBS is to feature an interview with Stormy Daniels on "Sixty Minutes" partly to distract from new developing allegations of sexual misconduct within its own executive ranks .. see: Rush Limbaugh Scoop ... and partly to set up a story that will be repeated over and over leading up to midterm elections that Trump is somehow a perv too -- "Did he use any force in your sexual encounter?", "How many times?" and even "How big is his member?"

All very sensational stuff. And be not surprised if CBS airs this interview the same week as Trump's meeting with Lil' Kim. CBS is not used to asking, "Please pass the gravy."

Cough Sufferers

The social, cable and network media are all abuzz over Stephen Colbert's comment that President Trump's mouth was good as Putin's cock holster ... with many calling for Colbert's ouster for this "homophobic obscenity." First, I don't believe that this "joke" was homophobic. This argot is a well-known idiom in the gay community and was likely retrieved by one of his writers in a monologue creative session. Second, yes this line is obscene and, as such, the CBS network and Colbert's Late Show show producer should suffer any FCC financial repercussions for allowing this taped smut to go out on the air.

Obviously the Late Show is on late and doesn't have a large underage audience. But this comment became social-media viral and has since been seen by a great many little Johnnies and Janes. Therefore, some additional FCC wrist slapping might be in order ... maybe asking Colbert for a sincere social media apology ... if he could pull off eating such a big portion of crow. I kinda doubt it. I suspect that he would take it as an opportunity for even more mockery.

Instead, maybe Trump could counter in kind with a tweet suggesting that Colbert and his writers might be a little under the weather ... "cough sufferers" ... easier to get this "punny" passed our sleeping TV censors.

Crazy Toxic Stuff

From his bully pulpit, President Obummer is once again attacking the right-wing media for poisoning the minds of Americans by "pumping out crazy toxic stuff." Apparently it is not enough for the libs in this country to have most of the mainstream media in their corner ... CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, NPR, BBC, CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post, the New York Times, USA Today, Time magazine, the Atlantic Constitution, the Chicago Tribune, the LA Times and (increasingly) Fox News, etc., etc.

What is the toxic right-wing media? Some talk radio such as Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, Howie Carr, etc. and a few Internet blogs/news sites, such as the Drudge Report, Powerline, Breitbart, Michelle Malkin, Fletcher's Castoria, etc. And even these new media outlets are being manipulated and surpressed by virtually all the social media sites ... which are now clearly lining up on the left.

Are we Americans still allowed to pick and choose how we get our news and opinion? It would seem that, if Obummer has his way, the answer is "no". Those perceptive writers of our Constitution anticipated demagogues such as our current president and gave us the First Amendment guaranteeing freedom of the press ... now expanded to all our media outlets. But this freedom seems too much for our current political leadership. And, if you peruse the many comments on this blog, this poison supposedly is corrupting my thought processes to the point where I am requested to use only thought-police-approved sources.

I don't recall ever castigating any commentaters on this blog for how they get their news or opinion ... so why should I be so conscripted? All too often the arguments I make here are refuted by Trump-style pejorative comments, not reasoned logic ... something one should not expect from ACLU card carriers. So I would dearly appreciate it if our president and his acolytes stop calling me and mine names or asking us to limit our reading only to lefty-endorsed outlets. Refute us with your burning reasoning ... not that of Obummer-approved spin-meisters. This is dangerous rhetoric coming from our POTUS.

Pantomime

A cub reporter in Arizona recently spilled the beans … relating a off-the-record comment from that common streetwalker and White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney, that his daily press briefing is virtually rehearsed … questions being submitted ahead of time and answers returned in writing for the reporters convenience … see: Weekly Standard Story.  After a salvo of arm-waving denials, this poor reporter was given a variety of tasty condiments in order to eat her words … which she promptly did.

Now Sharyl Attkisson, that courageous veteran CBS reporter, who just resigned for being continuously squelched by her network, has verified at least parts of this original revelation … see: Breitbart Story.  Reporters do, from time to time, engage in this kind of pantomime with Jay Carney … making them little more than stenographers (Rush Limbaugh’s term) for the administration’s message.

This all goes to show how closely this and other administrations understandably try to manage the news.  However, what seems to be different today is how milk-toasty the media reporters now appear to be.  Think back to George Bush’s press briefings … was David Gregory reluctant to go after a story hammer and tongs?  Much as I dislike David Gregory’s politics, he was then a good reporter … and was doing his job. Now, reporters who attempt equivalent vigor are either denied access to the White House or are squelched by their bosses … witness Ms. Attkisson.

Perhaps the American public would realize what a farce these daily White House press briefings were if Jay Carney was in white-face and pretended to be blocked by an imaginary piece of glass?

The Smiling Cobra

Once Jim Aubrey, who then ran CBS, was known as the "smiling cobra" for his ruthless interpersonal tactics ... while he also maintained an ebullient visage (see: Wikipedia Entry).  I once heard an apocryphal story (of unknown veracity) on how he disposed of worn-out girlfriends.  He would invite them to join him on a cross-country Pullman-car trip.  When he didn't appear in their private compartment for the "all aboard," he would have delivered money, flowers, jewelry, fruit, candy, and ... a "Dear Jane" letter to his perplexed concubine ... shades of Mad Men!

I'm not accusing Barack Obama of similar dalliances, but I do believe he has a parallel personality to Jim Aubrey in that he is ruthless in slaking his vengeance.  In fact I am often perplexed and even a mite fearful to see The Barry's eyes as burning hot coals of anger while he, at the same time, is showing from ear to ear, a mouth full of pearly-whites.
