Self-loathing Insanity

America seems to be becoming unglued. But this is just a thin veneer of our elitists who thought that they ran things ... yet have been bamboozled at every turn by our undeserving president. As a result, they are thrashing about in a frenzy of self-loathing and self-destructive insanity.

Don’t believe me? Just look at the “peaceful protests” centered in the cities run by these lunies ... attempting to destroy everything that is sacred ... and looting what is left. 

And powerful pols are springing the lawless from prisons, protecting foreign criminal interlopers, pushing for eliminating the police and all hydrocarbons, selling out our country, tearing down our historic monuments, kneeling down in front of anarchists in some misguided hope that they will like them, killing a half million unborn babies a year, saying that there are no longer genders, eliminating even rational drug laws, committing treason to maintain their grip on the levers of power and money, subverting justice in the name of justice ... and claiming all sorts of irrational rants are rational.

If this thin layer of our elite society were a person, “it” would be in paroxysms of manic frustration, foaming at the mouth, in a straight jacket, thrashing around in a padded cell ... demanding succor from its perplexed guards.

Fortunately, although they have the megaphones of the equally manic media, these spittle-flecked grape-nuts are quite few in number and do not represent America. Americans are the guards in the previous analogy waiting for their shifts to be up so they can go home for a burger and a beer ... and play catch with the kids.

Why No Inflation?

I think I finally figured it out ... why we have had no inflation after years of our Fed (and other national banks) flooding the world with cheap money ... remember Quantitive Easing? Starting with the financial crisis in 2008, the Federal ReserveBank has been burning up the presses printing money ... as have the central banks in the European Union, Japan and most of the rest of the world. So why don’t we need wheelbarrows full of worthless bills to buy a loaf of bread ... like in Germany after World War One?

Well the coronavirus has exposed the reason. During our present pandemic we discover that over 90% of our critical drug components are made in China. And this seems just the beginning. For decades, ever since Bill Clinton invited China into the World Trade Organization, American companies have been shipping our manufacturing jobs to China ... because it was very cheap and provided results. Add to drug manufacturing transfers  ... electronics, toys, clothing, auto parts, furniture and on and on ... all at a mere fraction the cost of what it was here in the U.S.

This obviously has meant a continued large reductions in the cost of goods for American companies ... and fueled 7+% growth for China for almost 25 years ... a seismic economic shift happening right before our eyes ... yet we did not grasp the downside consequences.  Lower cost of goods has encouraged these American companies to keep prices low in order to expand market share (read Walmart, etc.). The United States has been on a consumer buying binge ... all fueled by hundreds of millions of very cheap Chinese workers (and the resulting strategic supply-chain fix we now find ourselves in due to the Wuhan virus.) We have built up a potential enemy in exchange for cheap manufacturing .... and more profits ... a massive strategic blunder given China’s desire to dominate. There is always an obverse side to every shiny coin.

Bingo ... no inflation ... despite enormous monetary expansion during the Obama administration. Now it all makes sense.

Afterthought: Will fixing our trade imbalances with China finally bring about the inflation we all have been expecting?

Our  once Golden State, Cali-not-for-ya, is coming apart at the seams with crushing homelessness, multitudinous genders, rampant drugs, uncontrolled annual wildfires, militant free-speech opponents, preventable droughts, massive numbers of illegal aliens (and concomitant voter fraud), fecal-paved streets, a middle-class exodus (U-Hauls leaving the state cost 15x more than those entering), a governor who giddyups on a moonbeam, prancing Hollywood effetes, officials attempting to nullify federal immigration laws, and numerous unctuous Silicone Valley lefty billionaires. All in all, this once glorious and beautiful state is rapidly becoming a festering third-world hellhole.

California has 1/8 of this country's population yet 1/3 of our welfare recipients. And despite some tremendously wealthy tech moguls, it has sadly become our nation's poorest state ... and is seemingly determined to continue to chart its own disastrous course ... even if this means departing from our American union. Perhaps the San Andreas fault might first accomplish this as a geographic reality

Our president is as healthy as a horse. For almost an hour yesterday his examining doctor took questions from the MSM about Trump's latest exam. His conclusions: Trump has slightly elevated cholesterol, he should lose 10 to 15 pounds, scored 30 out of 30 on his cognitive tests and has great genes ... see: Vox Story. Trump doesn't smoke, drink or do drugs ... never has. On the other hand, Obama has done all three but the MSM could have cared less about B.O.'s health or mental acuity. Why the difference?

George Soros is the equivalent of a sinister antagonist in a James Bond movie. He is an octogenarian multi-billionaire who likes to use his money to buy politicians and to create mischief in the Western world. He has Hellary Clinton and most of the Democrat party in his back pocket. He snaps open his billfold and they respond with Pavlovian servitude. In leaked e-mails and memos, it has recently been revealed that he basically was issuing marching orders to the United States' State Department through his then Toady-in-Chief, Hellary Clinton ... see: Breitbart Article, Another Breitbart Revelation and Daily Caller Report.

This Hungarian-born naturalized American citizen has a number of favorite causes -- open borders (in the U.S. and Europe), legalization of recreational drugs, anti-Israel organizations, community organizing, assisted suicide, Occupy Wall Street, felons' voting, the Arab Spring, Kosovo independence, Black Lives Matter, etc. ... see: Discover the Networks ... and probably many other causes on which his fingerprints have been wiped clean. (Do we see a correlation to the Clintons' decades-long priorities here?) The only other common denominator that I can discern to all these causes is that Soros champions a sinister push back towards American values and democracy ... strange ... for a person who has benefited so much from the country he apparently hates.

And "We The People" are traveling under the naive assumption that our politicians are beholding to us. No, no, no, for at least the last twenty five years, our politicians have mostly become acolytes of the dead presidents printed on our currency. Truman wasn't in it for the money. Eisenhower wasn't in it for the money. JFK wasn't in it for the money. Ford wasn't in it for the money. Reagan wasn't in it for the money. Even Jimmy Carter wasn't in it for the money. And someone who has truckloads of this green paper ... and knows how to spread it around ... like Soros ... obviously has huge political purchase. A discouragingly large proportion of our today politicians are more interested in personal gain than they are in the betterment of the country over which they govern. This is a recipe for national ptomaine poisoning.

Another Lost Generation

I am sadly coming to the difficult conclusion that the current generation of coming-of-age Americans has been so inculcated with PC hogwash and liberal newspeak that, as a group, their ability to think independently and affirm our nation's traditional values has been irreparably lost. Witness the recent mess at the University of Missouri.

The evidence is rife ... the plethora of popular bubble-headed glitterati, disturbing college campus demonstrations advocating repressive policies, the tidal wave of teenage illicit drug usage, the continued crowding-out of once-basic college education by meaningless feel-good courses, the youth vote helping to twice elect President Obama, the ennui and ignorance of this generation toward American history and our place on the World stage, and their overweening selfie vanity.

Yes, there was at least one previous American "lost generation" ... those born at the turn of the Twentieth Century. This group ushered in the Roaring Twenties and its consequence, the Great Depression. However, this, in turn, brought us to the Greatest Generation which turned our economy around and won World War II. So, all may not be truly lost. The legacy of this current bunch of misguided misfits might well be a reawakening of moral rationality and patriotic energy in those who then follow our current Lost Generation.

I certainly pray so.

A Good Walk Spoiled

A Japanese Golf Course

I better be careful here for my son is a golf aficionado and I myself have played a few rounds in my salad days. But Mark Twain was on to something when he called this links game "a good walk spoiled." I guess I didn't mind President Eisenhower playing so much golf as he seemed to get his other work done. But for some strange reason President Obama's obsession with golf gets under my skin. And President Clinton's constant use of Mulligans while on the golf course bothered my sense of fair play ... as did the man himself.

Now the Chinese leadership seems to feel the same way about golf as they do about prostitution, gambling, bribery, drugs and gluttony. Dozens of golf courses have been shut down for excessive use of natural resources ... and government officials in one province have had restrictions placed on their playing times. Golf is increasingly viewed as a "capitalist pastime" (shh ... don't tell Obama) ... see: CNBC Story.

The General Secretary of the Communist Party, Xi Jinping, seems to be behind much of this crackdown ... as he is against the other mentioned excesses in China ... even having some government officials executed for corruption. I don't know but I  have a sense that golf handicaps can be much better trusted in Beijing.

That gifted singer, Whitney Houston, has died ... resulting from a presumed overdose of whatever drug(s) ... see: EOnline Story.  Much of our nation and media are gnashing their collective teeth at her passing.  However, I prefer to hang some black crepe for the thousands of innocent Mexicans who have died at the hands of the drug lords down there.  They have been supplying, at great profit, Whitney and her ilk among the Hollywood glitterati the pills, powders and plants that alter their minds ... so they cannot see the grievous damage they are inflicting on others.  All too often anyone who stands in the way of these feel-good suppliers is brutally offed
