Luegenpresse

Some Germans have an interesting term for their main-stream media, it is “liar press” or luegenpresse in German … see: Breitbart Article. I guess that it was inevitable that a polarization like this would occur when militant Islamists in Europe keep pushing their agenda and the media there keeps papering over what is occurring. Eventually demonstrations, like what have occurred in Leipzig, Dresden and elsewhere in Europe, boil over and things start getting uglier and uglier on both sides.

The PEGIDA (Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West) movement in Europe and now in Germany is disturbing in many ways. It is reminiscent of the fascist anti-Semitic frenzy that characterized Germany during the Second World War with all its brutal consequences. Yet it is also in some ways similar to the Occupy Wall Street movement and anti-Ferguson police riots here in the United States … both of which were instigated and encouraged by a biased media determined to scandalize our societal norms by pushing an unrealistic agenda.

To this observer, it seems that the consequences of the Second World War are still being felt in the West’s obsession with tolerance and diversity … perhaps to a fault. There is so much diversity in Europe that many countries there are in danger of losing their national identity. And many European countries are so tolerant that they allow sharia-law “no-go” zones where non-Muslims dare not go. (Could we possibly call them “ghettos”?) Both of these over-reactions to the horrors of the last big war have created a vacuum into which Muslims have stepped. Who really knows what percentage of these Muslims are militant extremists … but it is big enough to intimidate those who aren’t.

This is obviously a dangerous situation which is also slowly creeping into the social fabric of the United States … augmented by a president and much of this nation’s luegenpresse who have not yet had the scales fall from their eyes. I actually believe that a more realistic treatment of these diversity and tolerance issues relative to our Muslim communities here would serve them far better in the long run.

But unfortunately, I don’t expect that this will occur anytime soon.

Conflicted

President Erdogan of Turkey has just claimed that Muslims discovered the new world and not Columbus (nor, presumably, the Norsemen) ... see: Yahoo News Story. Now this machismo boast presents an interesting opportunity to push back against the growing hegemony of Islam. There are many loony liberals in this country who are prone to embrace sharia law while at the same time denouncing Columbus for what his voyages wrought upon the indigenous people of the Americas ... see: Minneapolis Star Tribune Story and Atlas Shrugs Story.

Perhaps if we were to relinquish the kudos for discovering America to the Muslims, then these very same liberals would be so conflicted that they might screw themselves into the ground?

Deflation

Despite all the best efforts of our Federal Reserve Bank and other national banks around the world to promote modest monetary inflation, we now appear to be entering into a period of increasing worldwide deflation. This is prompted by the geo-political turmoil and by the decision of the Saudi Arabian government to push down the price of oil … see: The Bow. In many ways this oil price decrease is good for the United States since it strengthens the dollar, reduces the cost of living for normal Americans, and makes our enormous national debt an easier burden. (But it also makes our exports more expensive to the rest of the world.)

However, falling oil prices will cause major problems elsewhere in the world … in particular, many OPEC members’ budgets are dependent on higher oil prices and may suffer major economic dislocations if such lower prices persist … see: UK Telegraph Story. Like, for instance they might not be able to subsidize terrorist activities around the world … or may have to cut back on their development of atomic weaponry … or they might even have to stop promoting the adoption of Sharia Law (and all the evil that this entails) in non-Muslim countries?

But, unfortunately, I also believe that these deflationary pressures might eventually grease the skids for rampant inflation when it eventually does re-appear its ugly head. So enjoy things while they are good.

He Ain’t Heavy …

He’s my Brotherhood.  The Obama administration, with Hillary Clinton’s, John Kerry’s, and Chuck Hagel’s assent, has been a much too ardent supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood, that extremist group that almost sunk Egyptian “democracy” in the name of democracy… and has been behind much of the bloody fulmination of the Arab Spring.  From the day Obama was first inaugurated he has shown a tilt toward this dangerous sharia-law, caliphate-driven Islamist organization. 

Now that the Egyptian military has realized the danger of Morsi and the Brotherhood running things and managed to reverse the tide … yes, unfortunately, at the cost of much blood … our Islamist-sympathizing President has chosen, in the slimy-secret way that is his wont, to cut off aid to the Egyptian military (see: The Daily Beast Story).  This fortunately will be of little consequence because Saudi Arabia, UAE, and other Gulf States have stepped up with monetary offers that dwarf our puny leverage … see: NY Times Story.

It is clear why the twenty-two million Egyptian rioters, who presaged this military takeover, felt that the U.S. and the Obama administration had betrayed them … we had.  Now we are trying to twist the knife.  Rather than standing on that phony shibboleth of “democracy” which meant nothing to the Muslim Brotherhood, the U.S. foreign policy should propound modernity and freedom from the chains of a theocracy.  We certainly support the notion of separation of church and state here at home … why not for the Arab world?  And it seems that even some mush-brained Republicans such as John McCain and Lindsey Graham are supporting Obama’s wrong-headedness.  This is unfortunate ... for it gives Obama cover for his perfidy.

The U.S. foreign policy is on the wrong track in many ways, but especially because of our support for the Muslim Brotherhood and, by proxy, for the Islamists.  The irony of this posture is that, even though we may be alienating much of the more moderate Middle East, the consequences of this bull-headed support of Islamists might be the continued undermining of Muslim theocracies and wanna-bes around the region (Iran, Turkey, etc.).  Egypt’s near-death experience has been an object lesson for these countries and I pray they may take it to heart.

The Fix

There are myriad theories about why Romney lost the recently-completed U.S. Presidential election … changing demographics (perhaps Rubio would have been a better V.P. choice after all), class warfare used as the wedge issue, voter fraud, etc. But, to me, I return to my oft-repeated theme … it was an election in which the heart prevailed over the head. Women, who vote in increasingly greater numbers than men, voted for Obama 55% versus 44% for Romney. This was a voting margin that outstrips all others in terms of importance.

Therefore the problem for the Republicans in future elections is enormous … not one that can be reversed with small solutions. Thus, to get back on the winning track, Republicans need a sea-change fix … and I think I have their answer … Sharia Law. I believe that, if the Republicans were to co-opt the Democrats and urge that our Constitution be modified to comport with Sharia Law (see: Sharia Law Tenets), our country would benefit greatly. For instance:

- The 19th Amendment would be obviated, particularly for Christians and Jews, and these women would lose their right to vote. This clearly would solve most of the Republican’s electoral problems.

- The current trend toward public nudity or near-nudity would also be reversed. Lady Gaga could not appear on stage except according to the hajib dress code.

- Since women would be severely restricted as to what jobs or education they could seek, our unemployment problem would be solved overnight.

- Women would be forbidden to drive cars … suddenly solving many of our traffic jams.

- Iran would stop its nuclear sabre rattling and embrace the United States as brothers … Israel, not so much.

- Homosexuality would be forced back into the shadows (so as not to elicit stoning to death) … no more Gay Pride parades with their concomitant public displays of sexual acts.

- Our Supreme Court Justices Breyer and Ginsburg would be mollified in their notion that the laws of foreign lands must be considered in adjudicating domestic legal cases.

- Our crime rates would drop dramatically or, otherwise, we would have legions of one-handed thieves.

- Our divorce rates would also plummet … as adultery would no longer be an acceptable diversion from the monotony of marriage.


Need I go on?.

Afterthought:  Perhaps alcohol consumption in the United States might also be dramatically reduced under Sharia Law?
