Cold Hard Reality

America’s 43rd president, George W. Bush was not quite the pragmatic realist that his dad, H.W. was. He squandered trillions of American dollars in a quixotic attempt to “fix” the Middle East (which I now abashedly confess, supported.) Although he was a patrician of relative honesty (for a politician), he was nonetheless frozen when dealing with the growing sub-prime mortgage crisis, the clearly burgeoning trading and military threat from China ... and unwilling to face head-on North Korea's nuclear insanity. 

He was pushed around by the deep state and main-stream media without serious complaint ... opening the door to Obama-inspired Socialism. But, by far, his crowning accomplishments were that he defeated those nincompoops Al Gore and John Kerry. For that we must be eternally grateful.

Name Game

Ever since Bill Clinton won the presidency over George H.W. Bush, the candidates with the fewer letters in their last name generally have won at the polls — Bush over Gore (tie), Bush over Kerry, Obama over McCain, Obama over Romney and, finally, Trump over Clinton.

Before that ... there were a few modern exceptions to this rule ... Carter over Ford, Eisenhower over Stevenson, Kennedy over Nixon and Raegan over Carter ... all of which can be explained away due to extenuating circumstances.

If this loopy trend holds, the only Democrat who has a chance against a Trump second term is (promising $1,000 per month per US resident) Yang ... while Biden ties. All the other possible Dem opponents ... Warren, Buttigieg, Harris, Sanders, Booker, Klobuchar, O’Rourke and Castro would suck wind.

There is a dramatic rift in the chicken-little club of those who have believed that we are doomed by the modestly increasing carbon dioxide levels in our atmosphere which then is supposed to be causing global warming or climate change or some other terrifying global events. What is this rift? Why even Michael Mann, the inventor of the bogus "hockey-stick effect" to dramatize global warming, has now been forced to admit that there has been no significant global warming since before the year 2000. Wow! This is not just a rift ... it is a reformation in this pseudo-religion of the warmists!

It seems that this "settled science" is finally becoming unsettled ... see: Breitbart Article ... and there will be a lot of pompous politicians and loony luminaries such as that rotund fellow called Hanging-Chad Al and that skinny president with the nickname Bathhouse Barry who are in very awkward positions. They have gone balls-out in their pronouncements about this climate science about which they really know very little ... and so they will need either to stage a hasty and humbling retreat, like Michael Mann ... or viciously attack their detractors like the Queen of Hearts in "Alice in Wonderland"... screaming "off with their heads!"

It is going to be very interesting to watch which course each of them takes ... any predictions?

The Polar Vortex

There is a new rationale for why the Northern Hemisphere is experiencing record-setting low temperatures in the midst of our Gore-curse of galloping global warming. This excuse is now called the “polar vortex.”  This somehow is a swirling mass of extremely frigid air that has decided to depart the North Pole and is raising havoc in what were, previously, our more temperate areas … see: LA Ttmes Story.

Of course, this new term makes things sound a lot more ominous than they really are … and, the American public, being patsies for such media drama, once more are pulling the covers over their heads and praying to the pundits at East Anglia University in England to release them from the grip of these evil CO2 genies.  But as it turns out this polar vortex is not new… it’s been around for eons … and it just new to the uninitiated in the weather processes.

So take a deep breath you climate chicken-little’s, all is not lost.  If such a brutal winter comes, will spring then abandon us forever?  I sincerely doubt it … unless of course those grant-happy climatologists can somehow get hold of that Halliburton weather machine.
