Obvious Truth

Now that the Supreme Court will likely be comprised of 5 conservatives, 3 liberals and one squish, it would seem prudent that the conservatives should take some extra precautions against Arkancide (since liberal emotions are running so very high).

Toilet Paper

My granddaughters gave me a roll of toilet paper with Trump’s picture on each sheet. I thought it was funny and put it in our guest bathroom. If I gave any of my liberal friends toilet paper with a picture of Obama on each sheet, I wonder how this might be received? In fact, this seems the significant difference between today’s dogmatic liberals and more open-minded conservatives.

Shrinking Violets

For a long time we Conservatives have been shrinking violets. No more! The Progs have finally become too aggressive in pushing their loopy agenda ... right in the face of Conservatives who have believed in “fairness.” Well fairness and comity haven’t been working ... the Progs are using every dirty trick and their media buddies to prevail ... so an increasing number of Conservatives (we, after all, are the majority) have decided to push back. Enough of this bullying! Time to start asserting our advantage in numbers and right reasoning!

And you know why we have finally gotten some backbone? Why it’s that we finally realized our potential? Very simple! It’s the Orangeman, Donald J. trump.

For all his flaws and faults, he has shown the Right that they don’t need to keep rolling over for the  Left. The Progs are much more wrong than they are right ... and their leadership, both at the local and national level, has not kept us winning. Yet somehow we are magically still number one ... on the strength of our “greatest generation” ... but, if we don’t wake up soon, we’re doomed to hold that fingered “L” to our foreheads ... to the muffled giggles of the George Soros posse and the America Lasters.

I know I am sounding jingoistic ... but one needs not to look far across this great country to realize how low we have sunk in the last thirty years ... while much of the rest of the world has played us for suckers.

After winning the Cold War, we were resting on our oars while others took advantage of us. Now, no more! Unless our snowflake generation behaves as their pedagogical betters have programmed them to, our country now has a chance to recover our greatness ... and bequest a genuine legacy of freedom and prosperity to all our issue.

And we are starting, ever so slightly, to prevail. Thank you, Donald for opening our eyes!

Obvious Truth

It is healthy for our country to swing back and forth between liberal and conservative policies ... as long as neither one destroys the other completely. Both political philosophies, if given their complete leash, will destroy America.

Don’t take this comment as endorsing pure socialism however.

Teeter-Totter

In the long span of American history there have been periods when Liberals ruled and those when Conservatives held sway. So far the US Constitution has almost magically allowed this teeter-totter transition of power to occur without revolution. And this has been a good thing for these periodic changes cleanse the toxins that always accumulate under one-party tule.

It appears that the left now has a partial hammerlock on this process ... and the next time they completely control things may bring an end of this political back and forth. Our last terms of liberal rule came very close.

I can only fear for our future.

Juicy Ironies

The juicy irony of modern-day liberals is that they are far from freedom-loving ... and, of contemporary conservatives, that they are no longer against government excesses. -- Anon.

The Dope Pope

I don't think I need to add much to all the criticism being directed toward Pope Francis over his attempt to swim in America's political pool ... clearly without his water wings. He recently held a Catholic mass at the border between Mexico and the United States and said that we Americans should be building bridges and not walls. Then he implied that Donald Trump is not a Christian for his pronouncements about illegal immigration from Mexico and Syria. This is the same man who recently called capitalism "the spawn of the devil."

This current Vicar of Christ has done almost nothing to remedy the repulsive pederast evils that are eroding the foundations of his Church ... nor has he rigorously spoken out against the Christian massacres occurring almost daily in the Middle East and Africa. He obviously has rather set his praying priorities so that his special God might smite carbon dioxide, conservatives and capitalists.

I predict that he shall forevermore be known as the Dope Pope ...

Afterward: And he is for Castro, condoms and communism ...

Political Loyalty

The untimely passing of Antonin Scalia has got me to thinking about political loyalty ... primarily because this is a key element in the picking of Supreme Court justices. There seems to be a very strange divergence between liberals and conservatives insofar as their loyalty to their party's causes. Has there ever been a lefty Supreme Court justice who has suddenly ruled for the right in an important case? Whereas the opposite has frequently happened ... most recently David Souter, Earl Warren, William Brennan and some would even include John Roberts.

This can't be accidental ... only because it so consistent a divergence. The question then is why do these turncoats (from the right to the left) so often happen? It must be peer pressure. Our social scene and media bias is consistently left-leaning ... and, one must assume that turncoat justices feel and then fail to resist this force.

There is one other, less-likely possibility ... perhaps conservatives are more suseptible to blackmail than liberals?

Crow

Liberals are crowing (see: AP Story and Washington Post Story for their slant) and conservatives (including myself) are asked to eat crow as a result of the Friday's surprising House of Representatives Intelligence Committee's report on the Benghazi attack on 9/11/12. This report seems to dismiss that there were any intelligence failings leading up to this attack, deny that there were any "stand down" orders during this attack, and partially justify Susan Rice's claims about an Internet video being the motivation for these attacks (when she went on five Sunday talk shows shortly after the attack.)

However, there is obviously some push back from conservative commentators (see: Powerline Story and the more powerful Breitbart Story) who point out many of the issues and contradictions that were not answered in this Friday report. I myself am willing to eat some of that cornfield blackbird depending on a few outstanding questions. 1) Why would conservatives on this committee like Michele Bachmann and Peter King sign on to this report without any exceptions voiced? Are there intelligence issues that would be uncovered if all the facts were to be finally aired? And 2) Will Representative Trey Gowdy's Special Committee investigating Benghazi now fold its tent as a result of this other House committee's findings (see: Western Journalism Story) or will it soldier on?

My knife and fork are poised ...

Isn’t It Funny …

that conservatives, who are generally painted by the mainstream media as racists, actually are the ones who are the pro-lifers? Whereas, liberals are generally the ones who are “pro-choice” … which translates into avid supporters of the abortion industry (see: Fox News Story) which “eliminates” roughly 450,000 Afro-African babies a year (see: Operation Rescue Statistics).

Is it racist then to cause the deaths of almost half a million black babies a year? Apparently not … whereas those who are fighting to save these very same innocent Afro-American lives are so castigated.

Isn’t it funny?

I Give Up

Uncle! I surrender! No mas! Call off the dogs! You win! I turn over my king … Obama, you have check-mated me!

It is clear that our President holds all the high cards and it is futile to resist.  I’m sure he knows that I have contributed to the Republican Party and he can sic the IRS on me at the drop of a metaphor. I sense the NSA presence in all my phone calls and hacked into this computer.  I have seen how Attorney General Eric Holder has dropped the hammer on conservative voices across the country and I don’t want to suffer a similar fate.  He seems to have the FBI on a short leash and is not hesitant to use them to go after those of us "racists" who don’t want to go along to get along.

And I certainly don’t want to lose my health insurance or incur the wrath of future death panels.

I have seen how quickly the main stream media can destroy someone who poses a threat to this administration and the Democrat party. Witness Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, Robert McDonnell in Virginia, Dinesh D'Souza, and too too many others. And I have seen how the Chicago machine politics works … electing their friends time after time … seemingly against the will of the people.  I have witnessed President Obama use the Constitution like a napkin at one of his lavish dinners … and seen him castigate anyone with more money than he deems appropriate. Yet I have also watched as billions upon billions of government dollars are also funneled to his friends. I want to become one of those “friends.”

I sense to all-powerful nature of our government in picking corporate winners … such as Google and Solyndra … and losers … such as Koch Industries and JP Morgan. I cringe at the arbitrariness of our economic future under such leadership and worry if my nest egg of stock investments will be destroyed in a fit of pique by our Fearless Leader. As Charles Krauthammer observes, we are rapidly becoming a banana republic … and I want to be put all my money in Chiquita Brands Inc.

I have witnessed how Nancy Pelosi once used the House of Representatives as her personal playpen and how Harry Reid still does the same in the Senate.  I don’t want to get on their radar screens as being a miscreant. And I see the continued growth of the Clinton juggernaut … such as de Blasio in New York City and McAuliffe in Virginia … and worry that I have somehow offended them … and that they may seek vengeance after they once again control everything.  Please forgive my past sins! I promise I will vote for Chelsea whenever she runs for something!

We conservatives are finished ... we are on the ropes and I formally throw in the towel.

NOT!

Culture Warrior

Apparently the race for the Republican Presidential nomination has shifted away from fixing our economic malaise and reining-in our national deficits toward the remedying of traditional right-wing cultural issues ... abortion, gay marriage and sterilization services.  The evidence for this is Rick Santorum's three primary/caucus victories in Colorado, Minnesota, and Missouri on Tuesday.  Some of the precipitating events for these upsets occurring, I think, may be the better-than-expected unemployment statistics that were recently released by the Obama administration ... coupled with the recent HHS's Sebelius's abortion/sterilization health-care-coverage edict that has roiled the Catholic Church ... and the recent overturning of the gay-marriage ban in California by the 9th Circuit of Appeals.

My take on this political sea change is that it is a huge mistake on the part of American conservatives.  To paraphrase James Carville ... "it was, is and will be the economy stupid."  I honestly believe that we have not yet even begun to reverse our forced march toward national penury.

Eeny, Meeny, Miny ...

A commenter on my previous blog suggests that Rick Santorum might make an interesting choice for Vice President once Mitt Romney locks up the Republican nomination for President ... possibly after the New Hampshire primary next Tuesday.  I have previously suggested that Marco Rubio might be the best choice for Veep ... while others have championed Chris Christie, Governor of New Jersey.  As a consequence I think it might be worthwhile to investigate the pluses and minuses of each of these possibilities:

Rick Santorum -- Pluses: could solidify the Republican base for the ticket by attracting Evangelicals and social conservatives; appeals to Reagan Democrats with his blue-collar family background; Senate experience; might secure Pennsylvania's electoral votes.  Minuses: his stances on abortions, contraceptives, and gay marriages; no management experience; his last large election loss

Marco Rubio -- Pluses: could appeal to Hispanics due to his heritage; probably would secure Florida's electoral votes; is a tried and true conservative; Senate experience; his physical appearance.  Minuses: might not appeal to Mexican-Americans; still a bit of a political neophyte; no management experience

Chris Christie -- Pluses: knows how to reach across party lines to achieve consensus; strong management experience; avid fiscal conservative; combative style; might bring New Jersey's electoral votes into the Republican column; appeals to independents.  Minuses: his physical appearance; not a social conservative

Moe -- Plus: would be better than Biden
