Yesterday, President Biden said that in the first week, applications for forgiveness were submitted by 22 million srudent-loan borrowers. Now assuming that all of these applications are valid … and are $10,000 per … this would sum to $220 billion.
Add to this weeks more of applications and many Pell Grant recipients who will receive $20,000 of loan forgiveness … means that, if this giveaway goes all the way, it should easily cost taxpayers the estimated $400 billion … and likely a lot more.
Afterward: And most applications should be valid since the only major disqualified … annual income limits … are not solicited on the existing on-line applications … an invitation to fraud.
