“I know that X killed Y by stabbing him 18 times … but A accidentally stabbed B on his hand. A is therefore just as guilty of ‘knife-wielding’ as X !”
It’s easy to see the obvious semantic fallacy behind this above rhetoric? Yet, we are fed such tripe over and over again in the political arena … and, I’m sorry to say, fall for much of it. For more rhetorical slights of tongue see: Rhetorical Tricks
