Today’s Poser

Both Elon Musk and Donald Trump tend to attack their adversaries … and both are accomplished businessmen. Yet, Trump has legions of spittle-flecked enemies … whereas Musk has a boatload of adoring acolytes. Pilgrim, why the difference?

Musk is self-made billionaire (255) who creates products people want to buy. He avoids paying taxes because he has a bevy of clever lawyers.
Trump got millions to start with and shuckstered his way to a puny $2 billion of which half is debt. He evades taxes because of his many bankruptcies. (See "Everything Trump touches Dies.")

Trump is one of the least likable humans on the planet, even many of his former and current supporters agree. They just seem to hate America more.

At least you are spittle-fleckedly consistent. But I don’t think you answered my poser.

Trump’s attacks are ad hominems Musk’s are challenges on business acumen. Plus musk has talent for subverting the dominant paradigm (financial, space travel, cars). Trump owns a bunch of hotels and golf courses Yawn!

Musk has pushed the envelope with the SEC, Sen. Warren, Jack Dorsey, etc. and benefited greatly from govt handouts (Sen. Warrens point). And we do need golf courses and hotels. But there is something about Trump that evokes manic hatred that Musk doesn’t have. That’s what I am looking for.
