Plagues

Swarms of locusts devastating East Africa ... and now entering China, the coronavirus approaching a pandemic ... and the African Swine Fever killing hundreds of million pigs in China. These are three of at least eight plagues threatening our world order (I don’t consider earthquakes and volcanoes as plagues) ... see: 10 Plagues for deeper explanations.

So far we haven’t seen a plague of frogs (in a biblical sense) ... but China seems to be suffering the brunt of these catastrophes. For the latest on the coronavirus see: Latest Numbers.

I wish I could predict how all this all was going to turn out ... but in the meantime I am keeping my head down.

Prescience

"Logic is logic, that's all I say." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes

Earthquakes that are associated with the pull of the sun's and moon's gravity have made a lot of sense to me in the past. If these orbs can affect the rise and fall of water ... the ocean tides ... why can't they affect the Earth's crust in a similar way? I have speculated on this in the past ... particularly during supermoons ... see: Supermoon. Now, it appears that I was onto something. This phenomenon apparently has been repeatedly detected in the San Andreas fault in California ... see: LA Times Story.

It would seem to me that those living in earthquake zones should pay close attention to the relative positions of the Earth, the sun and the moon. Just a thought ...

More Consequences

I have commented in the past about what things, like terrorism, are being caused by global warming ... see: Consequences. As an homage to last week's Earth Day, the following items have also struck me as obviously being consequential of our not banishing carbon dioxide and worshiping the godess Gaia:

- It gets warm in the United States in August and is freezing in January, whereas in Argentina it is just the opposite ... weird!

- Earthquakes happen on a regular basis on Mars ...  clearly as retribution for our environmental neglect.

- Each generation of Americans are getting more and more obese ... except for The One, Obummer, an indication of his being a true believer.

- Democrats represent 97% of all climate scientists ... a settled statistic.

- Polar bears and penguins are flourishing and their populations expanding ... surely as a result of the more temperate nature of our polar regions.

- China's economy is only growing at about 7% per year ... obviously as punishment for its skepticism toward the effects of carbon dioxide on our atmosphere.

- Most celebrities and politicians have been forced to take their private jets to climate-change conferences.

A Flat World

This AM on CNBC there was a discussion on the outlook for housing prices in which the term "better neighborhood" was used. This caught my attention because such a designation still persists in our nation that seems in a headlong race toward an egalitarian society. If Bernie Sanders has his way a "better neighborhood" would be outlawed in concept if not in fact. Why should one group of citizens be permitted such an advantage over another? Are we not all equal in God's eyes? So why should some have better homes or better roads or better parks or even better schools?

No! This is not permitted! We all must live in a constructed paradise like Havana, Cuba ... where no one has a cultural or environmental advantage over  his neighbor. No one will live in higher ground. We will level all the topologies until everyone lives at the same elevation ... a flat world. And the climate will be the same for everyone. If it rains somewhere, it must rain everywhere. All residents need to enjoy the same clime, the same temperature, the same intensity of sunshine, even the same number of hours of daylight. If some people live on the shoreline, then everyone who so wants must live by the ocean. If some residents want beautiful views, then everyone must have beautiful vistas. Earthquakes, typhoons, floods, volcanoes ... even meteor strikes are no longer permitted.

The government under The Bern will insure that the climate, the economy, the topology, the flora, the fauna, the medical care, the entertainment, the abodes, the diets, the bank accounts, the employment, the apparel, the education, everything that citizens experience must be flat or equal ... except for Bernie and his flat head friends, that is.

Climate Change Horsesh.t

An Effect of Climate Change
CNBC has posted a slideshow listing 10 countries predicted to be hit hard by climate change …see: CNBC Story, The countries that they tag are the Philippines, Nigeria, Vietnam, Haiti, Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea, Malawi, Fiji, Sudan, and Japan. The effects of climate change listed by these Chicken Little’s are typhoons, hurricanes, cyclones, sea-level rising, flooding, and droughts as well as (guffaw) volcanoes, landslides, earthquakes and decreased tourism.

When I was younger these events (except for decreased tourism) used to be called natural disasters, acts of God, or even forces majeure. Now, the climate alarmists have co-opted these things, labeling them “climate change,” and blaming them all on that evil gas, carbon dioxide … the very same gas that is the primary reason that life on Earth is possible. Without it, we would not be here. And these yoyos have gotten the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to dub this gas a “pollutant.” Excuse me, but they all need to go back to school and re-study their science.

Quaking in Our Boots

I have written in the past about the implications of our moon coming closer to our Earth. This is called a “supermoon” … see: Copy Cat. Now we find that we are coming up on a series of these close-encounter events (see: Yahoo Story) and what will likely follow? You guessed it … more earthquakes around the world. And it may be starting … see: Japanese Earthquake and Oklahoma Quakes.

Stay tuned …

The Unraveling

Do you have the uncomfortable feeling that things around here are unraveling? I do:

- Iran is preparing its people for the emergence of the twelfth Imam (see: Mahdi Is Near ) signaling the apocalypse.
- Japan is handling the nuclear catastrophe at Fukushima a little like “Brownie” handled Katrina.
- The global-warming farce has devolved into “climate charge.” Does this then mean we are now headed into the next Ice Age?
- Many American states are facing the specter of bankruptcy as opposed to more public-union coddling.
- Regarding Libya, our man-child President, Obama, has now taken both sides of the Qadaffi-must-go and our-national-vital-interest issues.
- Bahrain, Syria and Yemen are in full popular revolt with other Middle Eastern nations teetering on the brink.
- Serious earthquakes are now rumbling around the world: Japan, New Zealand and Myanmar. The one in Japan shifted the island by a full eight feet!
- The housing and employment crises in the United States seem insoluble by an administration distracted by world events and vacation planning.
- Many people are distressed by the Mayan calendar’s indicating that the end of the world may occur late next year (see: Mayan Calendar).
- Back in the United States, Democrats are playing chicken with the Republicans about a government shutdown ... seeming to prefer national insolvency rather than losing the next elections.

So, “keeping our heads when all others are loosing theirs” will become much more difficult … particularly once Shiria law is endorsed by our Obama-packed Supreme Court.

Afterthought: If, as predicted, the twelfth Imam doesn't make an appearance in a reasonable period of time, will Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Iranian Ayatollahs take the Heaven's-Gate way out of this embassament.  Gee, I hope so.
