It's Over!

Watching television this morning, it seems clear that Hellary Clinton has already won the presidency. There was lots of smug discussion about who was being considered for her cabinet members. And Hellary has promised to maintain Michelle Obama's vegetable garden at the White House. On Morning Joe, John Heidlemann revealed that Trump has shut down his fund-raising operation and hasn't put any more of his own money into his campaign this October ... meaning that he already considers it a lost cause.

So it is a fait accompli ... Hellary is to be our first female president ... and the Clinton crime family is shifting into overdrive calculating how to turn hundreds of millions of dollars of political graft into billions. Illegal immigrants are flooding through our southern border expecting to be allowed to stay and made citizens. And the two year vetting process for Muslim immigrants has been cut to two minutes in anticipation of massive new acceptance quotas. A rate schedule has also been published for overnight stays in the Lincoln Bedroom and rides on Air Force One.

On the other hand, Trump has scheduled a two month cooldown at Mar a Largo and then a fund raiser to help recover some of his out-of-pocket campaign expenses. His children are hard at work starting the Trump TV Network from the ashes of Fox News. Speaking of which, Megyn Kelly has been invited to be an honored guest at the Clinton inauguration.

All in all there is muted celebration among the establishment pols in Washington ... which is pretty much all of them. No need to wait for November 9th!

A Bear Hug

Megyn Kelly has leveled her public-relations bazooka at her boss, the head of the Fox News Network ... Roger Ailes, clearly in order to bring him down. What did Ailes do to deserve this fusillade? He gave her a peck on the cheek and a bear hug ten years ago ... and this, to Ms. Kelly, was sexual harassment. Of course Megyn Kelly has risen through the ranks at Fox News during the interim period ... praising Roger Ailes all the while for his mentoring ... to the point where she is now a multi-millionaire media star with a prime-time program on Fox.

I have written in the past about Megyn Kelly ... about how her severe mien and whiskey voice has struck me as a would-be dominatrix ... see: A Foxy Question. My instincts about this woman seem to match Donald Trump's who clearly didn't and doesn't like her ... although, in typical Trump fashion, he tripped clumsily over his tongue during the presidential debate that she co-hosted.

Now apparently as many as 50 of Fox's superstars, Bill O'Reilly, Greta Van Susteren, Sean Hannity, etc. have threatened to leave Fox if Ailes goes ... see: American News Story.

SCOOP: Today on the Boston talk radio show, The Kuhner Report, the rumor was revealed that the Trump family is ready to fund a new cable network ("balanced and fair" Wolf News?) and hire this whole group who are threatening to leave Fox. Wouldn't it be an interesting twist of fate tf Ms. Kelly's traitorous payback of Ailes spawned this competing network. She would then be maybe the last standing star at Fox ... a once proud cable network with no more viewers!

And then who might Cruella Kelly dominate?

Unvetting

Remember that veterans' benefit event that Donald Trump held when he ducked out of the Republican debate in Des Moines, Iowa  (featuring Megyn Kelly) this past January? I mentioned in a blog then that I was disappointed that the money collected therein was going into Trump's personal foundation. Now the Wall Street Journal, in a good piece of follow-up journalism, has determined that, of the $6 million collected then, only $2.4 million has since been passed on to veterans' groups ... see: Breitbart News Story.

Although this could be a typical sleazy political move, I am quite disappointed that Trump, who hopefully doesn't need this money, has been so slow in passing these funds onto the veterans he so publicly praises. I will be watching and reporting on how well Trump lives up to his commitment to veterans. I clearly hope he fulfills this sacred pledge.

A Foxy Question

Is it just me, or does Fox News's Megyn Kelly, with her severe hairdo and her aggressive whiskey voice, appear to be auditioning to be the network's next dominatrix?

Playing to the Peanut Gallery

I think Donald Trump realizes he might have made a mistake in dropping out of the Republican debate in Iowa tomorrow night. So what to do? He obviously can't eat crow and asked to be taken back ... his ego would not permit. Alternatively he is going to stage his own charity event for the benefit of the Wounded Warriors Foundation ... hoping to draw attention and audience away from the debate ... see: Military Times Article.

The choice of this charity is to deflect criticism away from his petulant fight with Megyn Kelly and Fox News who are also big supporters of veterans' causes. In other words, Trump, as he most often does, has assessed the maturity of the Iowa voters and found them wanting ... in that he can pull off this obvious misdirection.

It is clear Trump thinks he will be playing to the peanut gallery in Des Moines during the time of the Republican debate. Somehow I suspect he may be underestimating the maturity and perspicacity of the evangelical voters there ... and they should easily be able to see through this righteous ruse.

If I am right, then the Iowa caucuses on Monday will tell the tale.
