Cloud of Suspicion

There is a growing cloud of suspicion surrounding our former National Security Advisor Susan Rice ... for her past escapades, including, it seems to be more and more obvious, her using our intelligence agencies to spy on Donald Trump's presidential campaign team. This is an extremely serious charge which may involve other Obama political appointees ... maybe even B.O. himself. President Trump has even suggested that Ms. Rice may be guilty of a crime ... particularly if she requested unmasking of more than two dozen intelligence intercepts that apparently had no national security or Russian contact references ... only political value and personal information.

I know. I know. It it quite early in this investigation to make these leaps of logic. But, like when President Reagan was embroiled in Iran-Contra, it is the seriousness of the charge that is paramount. We are peeling this onion ... and, like it has been over the last week, this obvious misfeasance is looking more and more like the early days of Watergate. ... serious malfeasance. I will not be surprised that, if over the next months, Susan Rice is joined in the docks by such luminaries as Rice's aide Ben Rhodes, Obama's confident Valarie Jarrett, the former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former CIA head John Brennan,  and even former AG Loretta Lynch (her meeting with Bill Clinton came shortly before the first FISA request to wiretap Trump Tower).

I suspect it might be a very entertaining summer of congressional TV hearings swirling around this spying on Trump and his people matter.

Deep State

In an effort to keep you, dear reader, (and me) current with the rapidly changing political vernacular, I bring to you the term "deep state" ... an ominous description of those Obama holdovers still within the administration and who are actively working against Trump and his agenda ... see: Breitbart/WSJ Story. I have previously referred in a blog to this dangerous development as the "resistance" ... see: The Resistance ... but now this more descriptive pejorative has taken over.

I say that this is a dangerous development mainly because of its apparent size and scope ... reaching well into our intelligence community. And now that this cabal has taken the scalp of General Flynn, I am confident that they will be even more emboldened. I wish I could identify the players in this intrigue, but my spider senses tell me that former CIA chief, John Brennan's loyalists might be a good part of this Deep State. The new CIA Director, Mike Pompeo certainly has his swamp-clearing work cut out for him. And I expect plenty more subterfuge directed at Trump before all the alligators have been eliminated.

This could get messy ...

Spy Fry

Spies are supposed to be slippery ... and is there anyone more opaque and shady than John Brennan who heads the CIA, our major spy organization? He has even stated that the US should not be spying on other countries! What, our spy organization, not spying on other countries? Are they just going to read foreign newspapers and write boring reports? (Something like what I do here.)

The CIA recently was known to be the source of the leak that Russia was supposedly hacking the Democrats' e-mails to help Trump get elected president ... a clear political move on the CIA's part. Why would the CIA allow itself to become so involved in such partisan nonsense? Perhaps because John Brennan is also an Obummer stooge?

I have written before about the clay feet that Brennan too often sports ... see: Connecting the DotsHeads Should Roll, It's My CIA Now, Acolytes and I Spy Not (wherein Brennan questions the role of his agency). Could it be that Brennan is the one orchestrating these oblique attacks on Trump?

Now more information has come to my attention about Brennan's political and religious leanings ... see: American Thinker for some careful insights and, a little bit more sensationalized, yet also well researched, Intrepid Reporter. (Please read them ... they are engrossing.) Basically, the worrisome implication of these two pieces is that Brennan is a Muslim convert ... and a Wahhabist at that ... as a result of spending many years on post in Saudi Arabia. It is also speculated that he has drawn around him at the CIA other Muslims in positions of influence. This, to me, is quite disturbing ... and reinforces my suspicions about Obummer's too kind feelings toward the Religion of Peace.

For you liberals, I'll save you some time ... Snopes deems this speculation as UNPROVEN (see: Snopes) which, to me ... considering the current reputation of this lefty site, is as good as verifying things.

I Spy NOT

I have in the past criticized the current CIA Director, John Brennan, as being an ineffective Obummer toady ... see: Head(s) Should RollIt's My CIA Now and Acolytes. But now his warts are on full display with his recent comments in an NPR interview that our nation should not be engaged in spying ... see: Powerline Blog. Our spy agency should not be engaged in spying? What a complete boob!

This mismatch between talent and position is a lot like a community organizer becoming president of the United States ...

Job One

President Obama at his news conference this afternoon confessed that his administration has not yet evolved a strategy to deal with the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq (aka, ISIS or ISIL) … see: Washington Times Story.

Perhaps, Mr. President, a little less golf?

Afterthought: And also perhaps, on the nineteenth hole, you might chew over with all your high-powered advisers (e.gs., Susan Rice, John Brennan, Valarie Jarrett?) how to deal with Putin and his invasion of the Ukraine? (See: Krauthammer Comments)

It’s My CIA Now

There is a great anecdote from the early days of the Clinton presidency when, during a ceremony, there was a fly-by by some Air Force jets. One in the president’s group started booing and was shushed by another who said, “It’s our military now.” Now, President Obama was exhibiting equivalent partisanship in yesterday’s news conference when he expressed “full faith” in John Brennan, the Director of the CIA, who is now under fire for spying on Congress ... and then lying about it. In effect Obama is saying, "It's my CIA now."

As Paul Mirengoff in the Powerline blog put it:
It’s sad when a U.S. president is more outraged by CIA efforts to obtain information from hardcore terrorists than by CIA spying on the legislative branch of government. The post-9/11 CIA interrogators were trying to protect this country from deadly attacks. The Obama era CIA snoops were trying to protect the CIA from the Senate.
To read the full context of this quote see: Powerline Blog.

I have never been a fan of John Brennan as I view him as a self-serving hack who puts his loyalty to the president ahead of his loyalty to his country … see: Acolytes and Heads Should Roll. I believe that, like many others of his ilk that have infected our government, John Brennan could be a very dangerous person in his position of power. Now, even two Democrat Senators are calling for his resignation… see: Politico Story. And I’m reasonably certain that another Democrat, Senator Feinstein, would not be saddened by such an event.

Politicians

I thought of titling this blog “Corrupt Politicians” but then that would be a redundant appellation.  Judicial Watch has just named the ten most corrupt U.S. politicians … and it has a couple of surprises.  Here is the reference: Breitbart Story ... and then here is the list:

1 - Barack Obama (no surprise here)
2 – Hillary Clinton (the American public seems oblivious)
3 – Eric Holder (nice to have an Attorney General on the list)
4 – Harry Reid (just look at how he pulled off his last election victory)
5 – John Brennan (see my previous comments at Acolytes)
6 – John Boehner (finally a Republican!)
7 – Janet Napolitano (perhaps corruption was a gating item for the original Obama cabinet)
8 – Stephen Miller (former IRS chief … isn’t that special?)
9 – Saxby Chambliss (another Republican and … gasp! … also a Senator)
10 – Kathleen Sebelius (corrupt? … or just stunningly incompetent?)

Go back and read the Breitbart story above to see the litany of sins that these bozos have committed … and I’m sure that this is just scratching the surface.  Judicial Watch also includes an interesting list of dishonorable mentions … such as former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell (another Republican), new Democrat Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe (Virginians having traded a headache for an upset stomach), former Republican congressman Rick Renzi (now in prison), and finally Susan Rice (remember Benghazi?).

Why, for heaven’s sake, is Nancy Pelosi not on this list … or even a dishonorable mention?  Oh hell, why not just do a roll call of most of Congress (paying particular attention to the Massachusetts delegation) and pretty much  the whole Obama administration?

Connecting the Dots

Retiring Senator, Joe Lieberman, said today that it should have been easy to prevent the recent Boston Marathon bombings and that it was a failure to “connect the dots" between federal intelligence sources and local law enforcement agencies … see:. CBS News Story.

Now as it turns out our federal government spent $50 million dollars from 2005 to 2008 with The Analysis Corporation to develop a system that was meant to do just this.  (And I wager we have spent considerably more with this company since.)  Now for the critical question, Joe ... who was CEO of the Analysis Corporation during this period?

Please scroll down …

None other than our current director of the CIA … John Brennan

What else has this $50 million "connect the dots system" missed?  See: Heads Should Roll for another (of many) instances.

Head(s) Should Roll

President Obama recently called it a "screwup" in the U.S. intelligence community over the Nigerian Islamic terrorist's attempted crotch-bombing of an airliner over Detroit. Now our President is pointing his finger at these same intelligence agencies for their inability to connect the dots. But as the old canard goes: "When you point your finger outward, three more fingers point back at you." By this I mean that Obama's National Security Czar, John Brennan, after a dismal performance on Fox News this past Sunday (see: Dodge and Weave), has, up until now, evaded any culpability for these "systemic failures" (also Obama's words).

But, what hasn't been generally reported is that John Brennan was the primary person responsible for the software and database that was built to connect these dots, see: the Rest of the Story. He,"having designed and built our multi-agency terrorist threat integration center", now is charged by our empty-suit (but stuffed-shirt) of a President to fix things. From 2005 to 2008 he was the CEO of Analysis Corp. (see: The Analysis Corporation) which spent $50 million of taxpayers funds to build the terrorist-screening system that was supposed to be the ultimate in dot-connectors. Oops.

May I humbly suggest that John Brennan's head clearly should be the first to roll ... closely followed by Janet Napolitano's.
