That outcome was not clear at all at the time. He was counting on complete fealty by Mike Pence. Witnesses have testified that he enjoyed watching the spectacle on TV. The emails and phone conversations were further evidence of his hope for a coup.
Perhaps you should stand up for reason and truth for once.

I don’t understand. How can emails or texts TO him indicate that he was hoping for a coup? Wouldn’t his hopes need to be reflected in emails or texts FROM him?
