I distinctly remember President Trump saying that he thought therapeutics would be more important than vaccines in combating the “China plague.” And this was after it was clear that his Operation Warpspeed had produced three effective vaccines. And I also remember scratching my head at this comment.
Now the new Wuhan-Fauci virus variants are emerging from South Africa to scare the piss out of the world … since, apparently, our current vaccines may be useless against them. So, we must pivot to therapeutics until our vaccines can be re-engineered.
We, once again, see the genius of the Orangeman … for, despite the media’s disinterest in anti-viral drugs, they may be our saving grace. Now Merck and Pfizer have pills which are apparently highly effective in reducing hospitalizations and deaths from this plague. IF we can get them through our government’s bureaucracy and approved. Are you listening Sleepy Joe? Or are you focused on racism this week?

This post was inspired by a burglary in a friend’s neighborhood.
I’m going to recall the following from memory so please excuse any minor flaws.
Louis Pasteur once did some experiments on the contamination of Petri dishes filled with agar-agar. Stay with me … you’ll soon see the connection.
He first left one dish uncovered to the air and overnight it had a bacterial culture growing in it. He then covered a fresh one, but with an open straight glass tube through the cover. It took two days to get contaminated. Then he put a L-bend in the tube to the next Petei dish. It took a week for a culture to start growing. Two bends kept the surface clean for two months. And finally, three bends never allowed contamination to take place within his window of patience … even though air could go through the bent tube.
Interesting … but I think this Pasteur experiment has application outside of the biology of bacterial contamination. What is that you ask?
Well pilgrim, if you want a home that is relatively safe from being burgled, make sure that it is at least three street turns required to get there from from a main thoroughfare.
No guarantees … but it seems to work. I think it has something to do with a burglar needing a quick escape without getting lost in an unfamiliar neighborhood.

Liberals are living inside a bubble of silly ideas that they have elevated, with the help of an unhinged media, to loopy dogma status:
- Battery power will one day run heavy machinery, 18-wheel trucks, jet planes, space travel, even ocean liners.
- Gender is determined by a state of mind
- Our national media is unbiased … and seeks the truth
- Carbon dioxide and now methane are the only things affecting our climate
- Socialism will succeed if only properly implemented
- America is as racist today as it has ever been
- China is a competitor and not an enemy
- Guns are inherently evil and should be outlawed
- Government is top-down and not bottom-up
- Open borders are humanitarian, moral, and not at all dangerous
- President Biden is on top of things
- Trump colluded with Russia to win in 2016
- Voter fraud does not exist … or minimal at most
- The U.S. Constitution is hopelessly outdated
- Law enforcement is the problem, not the criminal set
- The current inflation is transitory
- If you are white, you are necessarily evil

- Bail needs to be abolished even for violent felons
- All abortions, even right before birth, are a woman’s right
- It’s a human right to live, shoot up and defecate on public streets

- It’s alright for government to lie and cheat for the greater good — e.g., vaccine mandates
