Professor Hillary

Hillary Clinton is in negotiations to become a professor at Columbia University ... see: NY Daily News Story. There are a few questions and stipulations surrounding this possible development:

- Will she be charging $250,000 per lecture?

- Will her classroom be under a broken glass ceiling?

- What subject(s) will she be teaching -- Gender Bender Studies? Cattle Futures Trading? The Teachings of Saul Alinsly? Keeping Law Firm Billing Records? Political Ethics? Cookie Baking? What' s Wrong with Constitutional Law? Marital Fidelity? Wine Tasting? The Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic Studies? The Path to Socialism? Ashtray Throwing? Arkansas Real Estate Speculation? Public Speaking for Fun and Profit? Managing a Travel Office? FBI Files Data Mining? Spirit Cooking? The Advantages of Charitable Foundations? and/or How to Run for Political Office?

- She will only teach one hour a day, two days a week ... and never before noon.  She may have substitute guest lecturers chosen from among her friends -- Hubby Bubba, Harvey Weinstein, Ayatollah Khamenei, Barack Obama, John Forbes Kerry, John Podesta, Huma Abadin, Madelaine Albright, Mohamed Morsi, and Beelzebub. She still will be paid the same under these circumstances.

- The name of this university must be changed to something more PC.

Mt. Rushmore

Where are the Left leading their snowflake acolytes? Like the Taliban did to that huge stone Buddha in Afghanistan, they are jackhammering the presidents' faces off of Mt. Rushmore. The above picture was taken when they were 3/4s done. The plan is to replace these old dead white presidents with likeness of Barack Obama, Hugo Chavez, Mao and Pol Pot.

Next, the plan is to dynamite the Confederate generals' likenesses off of Stone Mountain, Georgia. Suggested replacements include Ho Chi Minh, Saul Alinsky and Bill Ayers.

Style vs. Substance

OK folks, here goes another Obama versus Trump compare and contrast. We have seen enough of both men to begin to understand the effects that they cause on us, their humble subjects. My conclusion is that Obama was a victory of style over substance and Trump is exactly the opposite.

Barack Obama was Mr. Smooth. His TelePrompTer presentations were mellow and folksy. He always had that David Brooks razor-like crease in his trousers. Every time he descended a flight of stairs he did it with a graceful aplomb ... paws cocked in front (no handrails for this cool dude) and almost a Fred Astaire light touch on his feet. His presence commanded the present.

However, Obama's policies seemed secondary. Somehow, it wasn't so important what he said ... but that he said it with grace. Yes, his politics were ultra-liberal. But somehow it felt that his policies were not paramount. He was dancing with the Saul Alinsky partner that brought him. And as long as it was consistent and appealing, he was ready to push it ... independent of the ultimate result. Yes, he and Valarie Jarrett do have a sympathetic ear for Shiite Muslims and Socialism ... but those seemed their only burning issues.

On the other hand, Trump has the style of a pinkie-ring casino floor manager. His hair looks like a dead orange animal. I know that Trump thinks that he is smooth. But last year's campaign revealed that he has lots of rough edges ... even though his pants are always pressed. His insults were often and raw. His compliments are usually overdone and sound insincere. He often contradicts himself without realizing it. He is an archetypal blowhard. His style is the exact obverse of Obama.

However, what Trump lacks in style, he clearly makes up in substance. He leads not from behind but from in front. One by one he is trying to remedy all of Obama's failings ... and they are many ... see: Fixin' Things. Despite the ugly often violent "resistance" on the left, Trump is making things right. He seems to know just what needs to be done and then sets about doing it. As, one by one, Obama's screw-ups are remedied, the right is cheering and the left is melting down.

Many more Americans are now realizing how a smooth style didn't and doesn't compensate for a lack of substance. So, although we don't have, like Reagan, a comic-book hero as a fixer, at least we have a fixer.

Aw, Shucks!

Obummer's folksy style is his greatest asset. How can a family man who seems so down-to-earth be anything but honest and trustworthy?  This is the smiling disguise he wears and he carries it off with aplomb ... dangerously so ... as we, who are awake, are repeatedly reminded of his duplicity and mendacity. He talks directly to the great masses of Americans like he was their best friend ... kinda like the eventual villain in a film noire where his sinister intent is not revealed until the last reel. He is Jimmy Stewart for most of the film ... only to turn into Freddy Kruger in the last fifteen minutes ... teaching his audience the danger of relying on outward appearances. And we Americans have yet to learn fully this lesson.

This Saul Alinsky devotee has spent almost eight years offering his bucolic banter, playing golf, stealthily dismantling the American middle class, ceding our world hegemony ... and fomenting racial divide. This apparently was what he really meant by "hope and change." He must be extracting revenge on his adopted country for some deep, dark sin that was visited on him in his childhood. Was it his socialist mother whispering in his ear, his vanishing Kenyan father, his indolent Hawaiian choom gang, or the fact that he felt white but looked black. The fact that he has skated through life ... receiving most plums with little or no effort has enforced his sense of entitlement ... yet caused him to question the perspicacity of his non-black brethren.

Robert Mitchum was once asked to what he attributed his acting success. His reply, "They never found me out." I somehow wonder if Obummer could ever be so self-aware?

Blinders

I was on a Skype call yesterday with some college classmates and I was put in the uncomfortable position of having to explain why I am going to vote for Trump. To a man, my classmates, many of whom profess to be Republicans, were down on The Donald ... and I do understand their aversion ... because Trump has an uncanny way of sticking his finger in the eyes of the establishment. I won't say that they were looking down their noses at him, but they clearly weren't in awe. Nor am I ... but I still think I would prefer having a finger in my eye than a suicide vest going off next to me.

Maybe it is my humble background ... but I have never considered myself as refined. For instance, I still like Dick Cheney when most liberals ... and many conservatives ... hate him with a passion. For what? Because he showed a determination and uncanny competence in protecting us after 9/11. Our current president, Obummer and his presumptive successor, Hellery, refuse to show half the competence to protect us as both Cheney and Trump obviously engender. Those two elite Democrats, Hellery and Obummer, are wearing blinders to our grave dangers for reasons that confound me. Perhaps it is their predilection for globalism? Maybe it is their desire to hold on to power by not admitting incompetence? Maybe it is inherent anti-Semitism that has caused them both to be so pro-Muslim? Perhaps, it is just a Saul Alinsky style revolutionary fervor? Maybe it is all those things and more?

But whatever it is, they both are wearing blinders and Donald Trump, as crude as he comes across, isn't. He is a realist of the first order ... perhaps the reason why he has been so successful in business. That is why I will vote for him whatever are the ancillary risks. I do know that, if Trump is elected, he will do some un-conservative things that I won't like ... and he will blurt out some unpresidential zingers. (So I guess I can also be accused of wearing blinders.) But I am convince that he will do enough good things to help put our country back on a path toward renewed greatness.

D’Souza’s “America”

I dislike going to movies any more … full of annoying teen patrons, expensive snacks, bad acting, lefty messages, and over-the-top special effects. But today my wife and I decided to give it a whirl with Dinesh D’Souza’s “America” … mostly out of curiosity. We went to the 1:00 PM show this past Friday. Not surprisingly, the theater was only sparsely filled.

The movie itself was a little plodding, preachy and pedantic but it did have a few uplifting moments. I do think it would have benefited from a professional narrator. Dinesh chose himself for this role ... he should have stepped aside for a little more sonority. Also, he inserted himself into too many of the scenes for my taste. My chief complaint is that this movie often lacks subtlety ... drawing obvious conclusions for its audience rather than letting then find their own way.

"America" is actually two movies spliced together … one, surprisingly, relating the oft-heard indictments of America for all of our supposed past grevious sins … which it then attempts to shoot down with both convincing and sometimes thin logic ... particularly its defense of capitalism. But it does have expensive historic re-enactment scenes, satisfactory but not great acting, professional production values, and passable music. It also tries to relate what the world would be like without the United States ... a clear winner. And this first segment also does render its climax in a dramatic and patriotic fashion.

But the second segment does seem a bit of an afterthought … maybe just to extend the movie’s run time. This part is more an indictment of what is currently going wrong in America (our newest sins) with pointed references to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton  ... along with their mentors, Howard Zinn, Noam Chomsky, and Saul Alinsky. My wife, who had slept through much of the first segment, paid more attention at this point ... as it was more political and less lawyerly.

All in all, "America" is a forgettable movie (like most out of Hollywood), but one that might just inspire some political activism from our mainstream populists. I do believe that teenagers might also benefit from its historic perspectives and from some of its many under-reported historical facts ... to help them balance out much of the claptrap they are being spoon-fed in their schools. It might just broaden their perspectives a tad.

Would I suggest you see it? Reluctantly, I think so ... if nothing more than to make a political statement ... and to annoy your liberal friends at parties ... like they have annoyed you with their Michael Moore kudos.

The I Word

Impeachment for President Obama is being bandied about more and more … particularly since his administration's scandals seem to be piling up faster than BMWs on a foggy San Diego freeway. The ones that are pushing even many lefties over the edge are the Veterans Administration mismanagement and Taliban prisoner swap deal … see: The Hill Story. Much as I would like our fearless leader to face this easily-justified well-of-the-Senate humiliation … it just isn’t going to happen for two reasons:

1)     President Clinton escaped this process with higher approval ratings than before he started … primarily because the gullible American public thought that it was about his assignations with Monica Lewinsky when it was really about his lying under oath. This realization that spin can easily trump truth has made the Republican Party quite gun shy (excuse the pun).
2)     No one really wants to impeach the first black American president … and Barack Obama knows it all too well. This is why we are suffering though these scandal escalations that will likely continue until the last wagyu steak has been consumed at the White House.

Even this Taliban prisoner exchange scandal still has a few wacko lefties trying to defend Obama with twisted logic and pained expressions. I guess Lincoln was right when he quipped about the various populations of foolish people. Surprisingly, I even believe that Mr. Haughty at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue may release Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (the mastermind behind the 9/11 World Trade Centers’ destruction) before he finishes rubbing American noses in the excrement left behind by his mentor, Saul Alinsky.

So we Americans will still have to suffer through 2 ½ more years of lavish presidential self-indulgences, foreign-policy disasters, and Constitution-defying domestic ukases by our tyrant wannabe. The only I-word that we will likely experience will be surrounded by “me” and “my” when we watch Obama’s chin-in-the-air Teleprompter claptrap.

Not a very happy thought.

Good News, Bad News

Vice President, Joe Biden said, in dialect no less, to a predominately black audience in Danville, Virginia yesterday that the Romney/Ryan policies are "gonna put y'all back in chains" (see: Free Beacon Story).  This is about as low as political discourse can possibly go ... and this is the good news.  The bad news is that Biden is digging himself such a deep hole with all his dubs and  flubs that Obama may be forced to find himself another running mate before the debates start this fall.  This would be a crying shame since Biden's mental decline is such a detriment to Obama's re-election chances that his removal could do nothing but help The Barry get four more years out of the Saul Alinsky playbook.

Addemdum:  To see more of Biden's recent gaffs ... many of which have gone unreported ... see: White House Dossier.  I think that it is increasingly likely that we will soon see Biden being dropped from the Democrat Presidential ticket (10:07 AM EST, 8/16/12).
