Can't Lose for Winning

Donald Trump must have a horseshoe up his but. Every time the referee has him down for the count, he bounces up, smiling ear to ear, to flatten his opponent. The Billy Bush tape didn't do him in. The Clinton "insurance policy" of the Russian collusion seems to be spinning its wheels, His buddy Bannon couldn't take him down. The Wolff expose book seems a distant past. His "shithole" comment, rather than taking him down,  is making his detractors look mouth-frothing demented.

He just can't lose for winning ...

Didn't he say that we were going to win so much that we would get tired of winning? And, in this, he may have misspoke ... because much of his winning ... the soaring stock market, the North Korea stare-down,  factory employment gains, corporate bonuses, crushing ISIS, illegal immigration reductions, soaring small business confidence ... I could go on and on ... is so embarrassing for his hoards of enemies, that they are forced to call it losing ... or claim it is Obama's legacy ... and continue to look supercilious in the process.

I am even a little afraid that he may not start losing until liberals finally concede that he is winning.

But in the meantime, this man surely must have a horseshoe secreted somewhere on his body.

The term that this list of fake accomplishments evokes in one supercilious reader:
"whistle-past-the-graveyard. Verb. (idiomatic, US) To attempt to stay cheerful in a dire situation; to proceed with a task, ignoring an upcoming hazard, hoping for a good outcome."
The uproar over the book, the comment and the investigation have not gone away - at least not on CNN.

My turn. While DJT has unshackled businesses to rev their engines, it is proven that you let the pundits note the market surge else you have to claim the correction that is rather overdue.

That said, DJT has a way of lighting backfires when the going gets rough. Bait for Fox News IMHO. Here are some fires has might light:

- What's with girls in the Boy Scouts and boys in the Girl Scouts? Which way do the gays and such go? Maybe it should be the Macho Scouts and the Pussy Scouts.

- I went to a super market for the first time in my life. There was all this fruit displayed loose. A huge Haitian woman with two dirty infants in the cart was picking up melons, touching each one to her nose, and then taking one. Then a righteous white woman from my base picked up one of those dirty melons. Why do we allow this? Can't we have separate stores?

- This silliness about electric vehicles where the electricity is produced from coal must stop. I want to see allowances and incentives for coal powered vehicles.

- Why do they call it Ovaltine? The jar is round, the cup is round... it should be Roundtine.

I"m confused. Are these backfires actually Trump"s ... or your imagining what backfires Trump might light?

These are conjectures of what DJT will do. And "backfires" was no intended in the sense of a muffler noise but rather as fires lit to stop on an oncoming brush fire.

The kind of backfires that California neglects to set when they can ... I like the Ovaltine one and the OCD one ...
