Listening to our AG, Maura Healey (famous for once saying, "It's not illegal to be illegal here in Massachusetts.") on WGBH here in Boston this PM, she was taking listeners' calls. One asked why would the mayor of Boston have turned off the sound system at the Free Speech Rally in Boston this past weekend? And, in typical liberal newspeak, she said, "Just because people have the right to speak, doesn't mean others need to be able to listen."
Wha?

Jesus gave the sermon on the Mount without using a sound system. There were only 100 people at the rotunda from what I recall. You should be able to speak clearly to that size group easily.
The transcripts of the speeches should be available to the public if that was really free speech. Where are they? Who spoke? What was their alleged affiliation?
You shouldn't be listening to liberal radio, it might get you to thinking positively. I think it's pretty clear from what she said that the first amendment does not guarantee a working sound system. "Free speech" only applies to what you can utter from a soapbox. It protects you from the government but not from people who want to punch you for speech that they find offensive. Next question.
100 for free speech vs. 20,000 against it. Sounds fair to me.
Sayeth James Madison ...
Nobody spoke. The organizer was a libertarian and a liberal. I don't think there were any neo-any things there. But we will never know because Mayor Walsh made them eat their scripts ...
