Comment Bait

Special Counsel Robert Mueller-dropped three shoes today. He indicted Paul Manafort and his sidekick Rick Gates for a bunch of white-collar crimes when they were working for the Podesta Group many years before they hooked up with Trump to lead his campaign for two months through the Republican convention in the summer of 2016. Their work for the Podesta Group involved doing PR for the Ukraine government ... rather than colluding with Russia. And the name Donald Trump does not appear in the Mueller indictments. Also Mueller revealed that an unpaid Trump campaign worked named George Papadopolous had been arrested this past July for lying to authorities about an attempted Russian contact.

The Podesta Group is a powerful DC lobbying firm and is run by the brothers John and Tony Podesta.  John Podesta had been Hillary Clinton's campaign manager in her failed attempt at the presidency.  Interestingly, Tony Podesta resigned today from the Podsta group after it had been revealed that he too is a target of Mueller's investigation.

And in another related development a former FBI informant is now been freed to testify to Congress (if he lives) about some actual campaign collusion with Russia ... but the other party here is not Donald Trump, but the DNC ... which paid some $12 million through an intermediary for the fake Russian pee pee dossier on Trump ... which was then likely used by the Obama administration to justify surveiling the Trump campaign. So the fox has now morphed into the rabbit. I and a lot of others wonder if Mueller will investigate this actual Russian campaign collusion ... by the Democrats?

Given his politics and that of his posse, this seems unlikely.

Gorilla Dusts

FBI Director James Comey's letter to the House of Representatives on Friday saying that he was re-opening the Clinton e-mail investigation has caused the Democrats to grab handfuls of gorilla dust to throw into the air to confuse things. In particular:

- Both Hellary and John Podesta claimed that Comey only sent his critical letter to House Republicans -- NOT TRUE, he sent it to an equal number of ranking Democrats.

- Democrats claimed that the FBI did not have a search warrant to peruse the Abedin/Weiner computer -- Anthony Weiner is said to have given the FBI their computer so it didn't need a warrant.

- Hellary and Campaign Manager Robby Mook have claimed that Tomey hasn't seen all the e-maiłs in this "ambiguity bomb" so how does he know that they are material ... and they could be duplicates of ones already in hand -- the FBI has had this info since September. I'm sure that they know everything that is in them. They were discovered in a file folder call "Life Insurance" ... probably culled from Huma's correspondence by either Huma or Anthony as insurance against stressful times. (My money is on Weiner.)

- Democrats have resurrected the specter of Russian involvement in our election ... pretty much a generic charge that is trotted out when nothing else is at hand.

- Harry Reid, in a letter to Tomey, has accused him of violating the Hatch Act which forbids the FBI of involving itself in elections. This charge needs to be investigated further but it is probably just more gorilla dust. Stay tuned.

It has just been revealed that there are 650,000 e-mails and documents in this treasure trove ... hopefully including all those that Hellary's people destroyed last March ... and then some. No wonder the FBI needs to take some time to resolve things.

From the People ...

Who brought you global warming.

John Podesta is leaving the White House after over a year heading up the president’s effort to combat global warming. Isn’t it just a little ironic that the man who claims that global warming is “settled science,” also believes in UFOs and space aliens … see: Yahoo News Story. And for further background, see: CBS News Story.

Podesta’s next gig is as a member of Hillary Clinton’s posse … perhaps to work on her campaign … perhaps to beam her up.

Class Act

John Podesta, President Obama’s new political adviser ... who has been brought into Obama’s circle of consigliores to try to quench the public relation’s fires that seem to be burning out of control there ... is a real class act.  Podesta is a former Bill Clinton henchman who, in the late 1990’s, helped Slick Willy stay in the White House and out of jail.

As an opening salvo from this high-brow low-life, Podesta has compared House Republicans to the Jim Jones’s Guyana cult who killed a Congressman and then committed mass suicide in 1978 … sees: USA Today Story (from whence comes the phrase "drinking the Kool-Aid").

Even with an apology, this is clearly not the right way to smooth things over for our feckless fearless leader. Perhaps Podesta needs to reread Gloria Vanderbilt’s book on etiquette.
