STAND UP FOR AMERICA!

Armageddon

There are quite a number of threats to the survival of our culture ... even our people. Whether they actually mean that the Earth will turn into Mars is dubious, but some actually might pose this menace. I have listed below real and imagined Armageddons ... in a descending order I consider reasonable. Each deserves its own extensive blog entry ... which I may well do. You may differ with the sequencing, but I doubt that you will dispute these items themselves:

Nuclear Proliferation — Nukes in the hands of lunatics

Top-dog Hegemony — China vs. Russia vs. USA vs. radical Islam ... unless the U.S. wins, things will be over

Plague — Biological weapons or natural pandemics might easily wipe out huge numbers of people

Artificial Intelligence — The nutroots are constantly predicting that robots will rule us. I am dubious.

Climate Change — the Earth has been getting warmer since 1750. Will it burn up as many predict? Maybe in a few million tears ... but not tomorrow.

Green Energy — I think that capturing energy from the wind and tides may present some unintended consequences.

Recreational Drugs — opium once almost took down China. It is conceivable that the legalization and propagation of mind-altering drugs could profoundly affect our future outlook.

Designer Babies — DNA-altering medicine will be changing our offspring and lives in ways not fully understood. Are we in for a planet full of Frankensteins?

Population Bomb — thirty years ago this was close to the number one fear. However populations are leveling off and declining everywhere bu Africa. Thus threat is therefore small.

Famine — the reduction of population pressure combined with higher crop yields reduces the possibility of widespread famine.

Big Data — although not threatening the end to civilization, the collection of massive amounts of personal data through social media and otherwise does pose a serious danger to our freedoms.

UFOs — Sorry Tucker ... not a threat.

The media is once again taking notice of UFO sightings ... watch: YouTube Video. Even Tucker Carlson on FoxNews has indicated his concern. Nobody, including myself, wants to completely discount these sightings ... particularly when reported by Navy pilots. But, saying that, I am convinced that aliens are not invading Earth ... see: Sapient Window Update.

Therefore these UFO sightings must be a function of an Earth-based technology or explainable by any number of natural phenomena. And since many observations involve physics beyond what is currently capable anywhere, these sightings must be explainable as natural ... I watched a video of the top 5 sightings and one was clearly the moon showing through a fog bank. There are lots of other possibilities ...

I am not sage enough to offer all these explanations. But, until one of these UFOs lands and a little green man asks to be taken to our orange-haired leader, I am not a believer in UFOs from outer space.

I don't believe that we have had visitors from outer space ... and have a simple explanation for many UFO sightings ... and it doesn't involve weather balloons or meteors. Think about it ... what could cause a bright light in the sky that hovers motionless for a while ...  then races off at a speed far beyond known aircraft rates? Analog: that cat laser teaser.

Imagine a very bright search light or laser beam reflecting off of low clouds, fog or even mist. Small quick movements of this ground-based light source would be greatly magnified in the sky ... matching many observed, even photographed, instances of "UFOs."

QED.

(Another less-likely possibility is St. Elmo's Fire or ball lightning ...)

John Podesta is leaving the White House after over a year heading up the president’s effort to combat global warming. Isn’t it just a little ironic that the man who claims that global warming is “settled science,” also believes in UFOs and space aliens … see: Yahoo News Story.
