White Nationalism (Updated)

I am a regular watcher of Smerconish on the CNN Saturday morning lineup. Because of the New Zealand mosque attacks, his survey question this AM was, ‘Does white nationalism pose a threat to liberal democracy?” The results were ... from 11,314 respondents 84% YES and 15% NO. This obviously is a self-selecting sample, so the results are biased. But the question itself does reveal something about the questioner ... namely: Are liberal democracies only run by whites?

Are there not liberal democracies run by those of other races? What about India? What about Chili? What about Ghana? What about Japan? What about Costa Rica? What about Israel.? What about South Africa? What about South Korea? What about Indonesia?

And do any of these countries have nationalistic tendencies?

Clearly nationalism of the non-white variety threaten the liberal democracies in some of these countries. And there is at least one white country which is not a liberal democracy ... namely Russia. So why would Smerconish limit his question to just white democracies?

Answer: “This is CNN!”

Afterthought: It is interesting that the New Zealand shooter most closely identifies not with Donald Trump ... but with Red China. Perhaps this is because how China puts Muslims in “re-education” camps ... and Trump doesn’t.

Chinese Hegemony

China is flexing its expansionist muscles ... making outrageous claims to large swaths of the South China Sea ... and building artificial islands to reinforce its sea lanes, oil exploration and fishing assertions in this region. All of its Asian neighbors (the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia) are pushing back and the Philippines just won a important victory in the Permanent Court of Arbitration at The Hague wherein China's claims have been denied ... see: AP Story. Unfortunately this decision in the Netherlands carries no force of real law ... just moral suasion ... and China is not swayed by suasion. This blatant Chinese hegemony presents one of the most serious threats to world peace in quite a few years.

In a related matter, President Obummer, after he returns from his current Black Lives Matter trip, is planning a few rounds of golf and a White House rap concert.

Afterward: See: Chuck Hagel Weighs In On CNBC and Enews: China Rattles Sword.

A Different Finger

While researching my previous blog,  One Finger Salute, I came across a different kind of one finger salute that President Obummer surreptitiously gave to the assembled African Muslim leaders at a U.S.-African Leaders conference last August in Washington, D.C. This stylized hand-sign, used by Muslims around the world, is called the shahada and is a show of solidarity and an affirmation of Allah being the one true God ... see: The American Thinker Revelation for a more complete description of how this sign is made and what it means to other Muslims.

If one questions how Obummer would know this symbolism, don't forget that he admittedly spent almost four formative years in Muslim Indonesia with his mother and step-father ... wherein he attended a madrassa school being taught the way of Islam.
