With Friends ...

like the United States, who needs enemies. Last year Israel revealed to the Obama administration, through Secretary of State John Kerry, it's plans to attack Iranian nuclear facilities in order to slow down that country's rabid race to the atomic bomb. Rather than then coordinating plans with Jerusalem, the U.S. threatened to shoot down any attacking Israeli planes ... see: Israel National News Revelation. Shoot them down! Let me repeat ... the United States would shoot down Israeli planes if they tried to destroy Iran's atomic weaponry facilities! Wow!

The Obama misadministration is so invested in trying to woo Iran ... now not even to the point of making it renounce and destroy its path to becoming an atomic power ... see: Charles Krauthammer's Analysis, that it is willing to attack just about our only "ally" in the Middle East.

This clearly is not a happy circumstance ... as I hope we all find out in detail when Bibi Netanyahu speaks to a joint session of Congress this Tuesday. I realize that, if the Israeli Prime Minister lays it all out then and there, that his speech might be a wake-up call to any Americans who still have an open mind. Yes, Netanyahu may well be burning his last bridge to the Obama administration, but, at this point, I don't see that his country has much more to lose ... given what we threatened to do to them last year.

Kicking the Iran Can

Iran wants the atomic bomb … and I have long been of the belief that the United States government (in its current form) wants Iran to have the atomic bomb … no matter what its snively pronouncements. After all it’s not fair that Israel has such a weapon and Iran doesn’t … independent of the fact that Israel would surely only use one defensively while Iran has sworn to use one offensively.

In March of this year we had unilaterally caused the lifting of some international sanctions against Iran which were beginning to bite … in exchange for vague promises out of Iran that they would somehow abandon its nuclear quest. One deadline in July passed for an agreement and now another is looming on November 24. If a deal is forthcoming, it is likely to be so lopsided that the Obama administration may try to circumvent Congressional ratification … see: NY Times Story … since such approval would be exceeding unlikely to happen unless there were stringent constraints on Iran’s nuclear ambitions … which are also exceeding unlikely to happen.

So what will happen later this month? Come on, we all know exactly what will happen … either a thinly-cloaked capitulation by the United States will occur … or no satisfactory agreement will be reached and we will kick the can a little further down the road. I’m betting on the latter.

The Bomb

Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel is warning us and the world that Iran's dovish nuclear overtures are a possible trap ... see: NY Times Story.  This olive branch from the new President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, for opening direct negotiations on its nuclear program  is such a u-turn from its previous hard-line position that I too am quite chary.  The fact that this attempt at detente is occurring just when Obama is back on his heels due to his Syrian policy failures is another reason to be suspicious.  Iran must figure that President Obama might grab at any life preserver during his diplomatic drowning.  I think Iran may well be right ... and using this ruse to get its sanctions lifted would be an added plus.

In fact, I will go even further than Netanyahu, I think this Iranian ploy means that it either has started building a nuclear bomb stockpile ... or, more likely, it already has one or more such weapons.  I think that Israelis are not sleeping too well these days ... nor am I ... nor should you.
