The Obama Agenda

Over the last seven years President Obama has revealed three major thrusts to his political agenda:

- Muslim accommodations -- by refusing to refer to jihadists or Muslim extremists by these appellations, by cozying up to the Muslim Brotherhood -- a clearly extremist organization, by offering only token resistance to the ISIS threat, by negotiating a sham agreement with Iran over its nuclear ambitions, by dissing Israel at every opportunity and insisting that it return to its 1948 borders, by admitting hundreds of thousands of Muslim "immigrants" into the United States preferring them over other religions, by staying mum as thousands of Christians are murdered and enslaved in Africa and the Middle East by Muslim extremists, by observing Muslim holidays in the White House, by repeatedly refusing to call terrorist attacks in this country by that name (workplace violence?) ... and too many more to mention.

- Black accommodations -- by inviting the Black Lives Matter radical organization to the White House, by saying the the Cambridge police force acted "stupidly" in the Chip Gates case, by refusing to condemn the recent rash of police officers killings by black miscreants, by saying that Trayvon Martin "could have been my son," by only proposing blacks to be Attorney General and to many other important government administrative positions, by continuously fanning the flames of racial divide by his speeches and his actions, by refusing to disavow Rev. Jeremiah Wright for his racist comments, by calling his grandmother "a typical white person" ... and too many more to mention.

- Gay accommodations -- by "evolving" to a position supporting gay marriage, by bathing the White House in rainbow lights after the gay-marriage decision by the Supreme Court, by removing the "don't ask don't tell" rule for military service, by naming an openly gay man to be Secretary of the Army, by having numerous gays as high-level advisory positions, by frequently pushing the gay rights agenda in speeches, by hosting a LGBT Pride event at the White House, by opening the Peace Corps to same sex couples, by backing gays as Boy Scout leaders ... and too many more to mention.

And there are other controversial causes he is also pushing ... but what, in fact, does the above track record suggest about the predilections of our president? One, possibly two are obvious. No more hints ...

Currency Wars

The world is a boil with currency devaluations, interest rate cuts and quantitative easings (QEs) by numerous central banks. Because of the recent slump in oil prices, the Canadian central bank has just cut its lending rate … with another commodity exporter, Australia, expected to follow suit shortly … see: CNBC Story. And today Mario Draghi of the European Central Bank is expected to announce the start of another QE program totaling perhaps 500 billion euros … see: Another CNBC Story.

I have in the past commented on what has degenerated into a major pissing contest between the central banks of the more developed nations and what the consequences that might result are … see: Race to the Bottom. It seems to this observer that the world has been lulled into an expectation, led by the now retired Chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank, Ben Bernanke, that central banks are the panacea for all the world’s economic woes.

Clearly monetary policy, in the long run, cannot solve basic economic malaise … yet the world’s stock markets now seem addicted to the opiate of easy money and very low, even negative, interest rates. This cannot all end well … at some point, possibly sooner than we wish, as Obama’s reverend, Jeremiah Wright, would say, “the chickens will come home to roost.”

What is now an illogical deflationary monetary and commodity spiral, I somehow expect, will flip into run-away inflationary in a nanosecond. Money is, after all, just gussied-up pieces of paper representing a political promise. Be prepared for these promises to be broken …

High Dudgeon

This nation’s media and our black leadership have their panties twisted in a bunch about the racists comments of the Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy (see:The Guardian Story.) and Donald Sterling, owner of the LA Clippers basketball team (see: Forbes Story.) Such naive and inappropriate utterances do deserve condemnation, but, for once, I would love to see the same media treatment of the equally offensive comments made by the likes of Louis Farrakhan, Jessie, Jackson, Bill Clinton, Al Sharpton, Harry Reid, Eric Holder, Jay-Z and Jeremiah Wright. I’m sure with a little thought or Goggling dear reader you can recall of what I write.

Such a narrative has always seemed to me to be strangely disproportionate when prominent blacks say offensive things. The media subtext usually reduces itself to “boys will be boys” and, with a wink and a nod, their mild discomfort never lasts more than one news cycle. And, even weirder, very often those actually condemning such hypocrisy receive the brunt of the media’s tsk-tsking. (And I am reasonably certain that many of you have already classified me as a racist for pointing out this gross disparity.) 

Very strange and diabolical indeed!

I Scratch My Head ...

I’ve often been curious as to why that race-baiter and supposed Reverend, Al Sharpton, has lived such a charmed life.  In the late 1980’s he defamed a police officer and a prosecuting attorney with the Tawana Brawley rape accusation, eventually losing a few hundred thousand lawsuit to the prosecuting attorney (later paid by others). He also instigated a riot in Harlem in 1995 which ended in the Jewish-owned store, Freddie’s Fashion Mart, being torched … causing the death of seven innocent people. The list of Sharpton’s scum-bag actions and utterances goes on and on … see: His Wikipedia Entry ... yet nothing seems to bring him down.  In fact his life keeps getting better. But now we possibly know why. Another of our President's close friends and frequent White House visitor, the rapper Jay Z (Beyonce's main squeeze) is also causing a ripple in the media with his apparent support of an organization called the Five Percent Nation which openly suggests that all white people are devils. I guess I am, once again, behind the times … and it’s now all right for our President to be so chummy with so many people who are clearly bigoted against white “folks” (remember Obama’s long-time pastor, Jeremiah Wright?)  This, to me, bizarre phenomenon eventually will be analyzed and put into perspective by historians.  But, till then, we clearly are living in interesting times when such obvious circumstantial evidence of presidential prejudice is repeatedly broomed under the rug by our liberal media. I scratch my head …

Our National Soap Opera

I have finally discovered how the Obama administration conducts its foreign policy.  The writers of the soap opera As the World Turns are locked in a room each weekend to come up with the latest international plot twists and turns.  Then our State Department actors are allowed to improvise on these delivered scripts ... without telling the White House how the week's episodes actually went during the show's taping.  Since there is a two week delay between these tapings and their airings, President Obama also has to ad lib what he thinks went on ... and he is usually quite a bit off the mark.  This obvious failing however is papered over by these same script writers because they have previously had Obama develop a bad case of amnesia during his futile attempts to get our national fiscal auto out of the ditch into which the Republicans had driven it.

In the very latest episode Obama is shown wondering aimlessly around the Bethesda Country Club golf course ... looking for his long-time playing partner, Jeremiah Wright ... and muttering something about the chickens coming home to roost.

Poetic Justice

Pan Am 103 was bombed over Lockerbie, Scotland by a Libyan operative, Abelbaset Ali al-Megrahi, in 1988 and 270 people died (259 passangers and crew ... 189 of them Americans).  He was eventually convicted and sentenced to life in prison in Scotland ... but, then under nefarious circumstances, was released back to Libya in August, 2009.  The cover story was that he had cancer and only had a month or so to live.  He is still alive and kicking one and 1/2 years later.  Very recently Libya's dictator, Muammar al-Qaddafi, has also be implicated in this act of terrorism by his former Justice Minister (see: An Aha Moment)

Now, with Libya in utter chaos, wouldn't it be nice if Pan-Am-103 vengences were finnally slaked by the rioting mobs there ... and both al-Qaddafi and al-Megrahi were give the central-square Mussolini treatment (maybe with a nudge from the CIA).  Might not that be the sweetest of poetic justice?

Afterthought:  Let us not forget that Obama's former minister, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and the leader of the United States' Nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan, have both visited and had a private audience with Qaddafi (see WorldNetDaily).

Red Roof Inn

In the nine months since Barack Obama has been our President there have obviously been quite a number of visitors to the White House. Recently, the list of said guests has been released and it contains some interesting tidbits. The Drudge Report mentioned George Clooney, George Soros and Oprah. See: Visitor Records.

I however found a few even more interesting names (number of visits is in parens after the name.) They are Angela Davis (2), Bill Ayers (2), Jesse Jackson (6), Michael Moore (8), Al Sharpton (2), George Soros (4), and Jeremiah Wright (1). (The actor, Will Smith, was there an astounding 33 times. Is there a movie in the offing?) Nor does this list contain many other names ... excluded because of security or first-family privacy purposes. And it is not clear (perhaps purposely so) what all these visits involved or whom was met. However, in every case the leaving time was 11:59 PM which suggests to me that these were overnight stays. I'm sure more on this will come out over the ensuing days in the NY Times and Boston Globe.

Perhaps we should change the name of the White House to the Red Roof Inn?
