Bill Maher is hoping for an American recession in order to help defeat Trump in next year’s election ... see: Daily Wire Story. And he is not alone. Many liberals would love to see the China trade war so damage the US economy that voters would reject Trump in 2020. Remember, “It’s the economy, stupid!”in 1992 which turned out to be prophetic?
How deranged can you get that you would pull out the pompoms to cheer for your team’s loosing?

Maher is hoping that the inevitable recession after the long Obama-Trump expansion comes well before the 2020 election and not after it.
Like I say ... cheering for your quarterback to fumble on the last-minute winning drive.
The reality is more like the quarterback fumbling on the last drive before halftime. Another quarterback can come in for the second half.
How about, “I’s OK if we lose this game. we play again next Saturday.”
I think a better analogy is a colonoscopy. You must endure the odious prep. Then you snip out the polyps before they become cancer. Repeat every 4 or 5 years. Recession is the prep; Trump is the polyps.
And the New York Times is the proctologist ...
I thought Bill Maher was the proctologist. He had the Mooch on last week, perhaps to provide a second opinion and anesthesiology.
