Our Midget President

Obummer seldom misses an opportunity to show us what a spiteful puerile person he really is. I do know that the word "midget" is now verboten in polite company, but our fearless leader is seldom polite. Why is he such a peewee? Or course, among many other things, it is because he is the first president in American history not to attend the funeral of a sitting Supreme Court justice ... in this case Antonin Scalia ... see: Politico Story.

And this is not the only time that Obummer has shown his infantile partisan contempt for some justices on our highest court ... those justices who don't toe his political line. He had previously embarrassed them as they sat in the front row for his first State of the Union address and petulantly dressed them down publicly for one of their decisions ... see: New York Times Article. What a dwarfish and unpresidential snit! If Obummer were any smaller, he might disappear altogether.

In case you missed it, President Obama referred to himself 199 times in a 40 minute speech in Austin this past Thursday … see: CNS News Story. And this was with the requisite backdrop of nodding, laughing, applauding toadies. (How can these people allow themselves to be abased and used as human wallpaper?)

And, of course, this speech was delivered in Obama’s increasingly malicious, acerbic, mean, immature, snide, condescending, sarcastic, puerile, mocking, cynical, sophomoric, and derisive manner. (I could go on, but it certainly was not what we know as presidential.) It almost makes no difference what the subject of this talking-down was … for it was stomach turning. Even liberals such as Bob Beckel and James Carville found it offensive.

The TV show, "The Five,” posited last Friday why no one in Obama’s inner circle will disabuse him of such inflammatory (and egotistical) rhetoric. The Five group coined a new term which I liked a lot … cleverly referring to those surrounding Obama in the White House … as "the Stepford staff.”

Nutty Professor

In far far too many areas, Barack Obama is governing against the will of the American people.  Just about everything he had promised regarding Obamacare has been proven wrong … yet he persists in cramming this signature piece of socialistic claptrap down our craws.  He is clearly swimming upstream on Syria … feeling he can hit it out of the park with his tired rhetoric this upcoming week.  Even his previous G-20 sycophants failed to buy into his hollow pleas for war.  And Russian's Putin gave him a public spanking in St. Petersburg.

His pontifications regarding climate change are  sounding more and more desperate … particularly since even the Arctic is reversing its warming trend (see: UK Telegraph Story).  And the Keystone Excel pipeline was expected by most to be approved by now … the Presidential election long being over and all.  Yet Obama’s heels are dug in despite the economic leverage that this dumb delay gives the Muslim oil sheiks … see: Fox News Story. 

You would think that for all his problems, O-bomb-a would throw us peons a bone on maybe just the Keystone pipeline.  But no … his mule-ishness has no bounds and, even those things that might make some of his other problems dissipate, are irrationally resisted.  This kind of behavior is bothersome in a President … it makes him appear puerile and frankly a little nutty.  I am worried having a nutty professor (or rather, lecturer) at the helm of our otherwise great nation.

Afterward:  A friend pointed me toward Norman Podhoretz's op-ed in today's Wall Street Journal which suggests that Obama is willing to sacrifice his own popularity in return for a concomitant decline in America's world influence and hegemony ... see: WSJ Article. This is not a new thought, but certainly a frightening one.
