Pilgrim, I suspect that the following observation may be unique to my youth … in the 1950s … but I always found it strange that some women back then would drape themselves around their boyfriends as though they were afraid to let go.
In the school halls, at sports events … even while driving. I always found it emotionally needy and undignified.
I expect that the ensuing women’s movement may have made such slavish behavior no longer acceptable … but it’s recollection inspired the above painting of mine.
STAND UP FOR DIGNITY!
