Intemperance

President Trump is often intemperate in his unscripted comments and tweets. A liberal talking head can recall and recite Trump's insults at the drop of a quaalude. However, the resistance is equally intemperate in many of their retorts ... in many cases expletive-deleted worse. That generally sophisticated wordsmith, Maurine Dowd, just called Trump a "pig". Carl Bernstein. of Watergate fame, has also suggested we have a "malignant presidency". It goes on and on. Even many commenters on this blog find their inspiration in the swill of the gutter.

Yes, I did criticize our former president as "Obummer," but I seldom went much lower than that. Today there is a constant barrage of low blows against The Donald.

Was Trump the instigator of this degeneracy dueling? My senses tell me, probably. Early on in his campaign, Trump started this insultarama. But, on the other hand, the trolls on the left have outdone him in barbs and death threats. My bottom line ... Trump is a piker compared to the looney Left. And don't you lose your natural right to criticize intemperance when you are indulging in equivalent or worse behavior?
