I find it difficult to believe that Mitch McConnell has not a single twinge of doubt about what actually went on around the invasion of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. And yet, he has proclaimed it a Trump-driven insurrection with no weasel words as a future escape clause … very unusual for a consummate politician like the Turtle. This suggests that his dislike … actually hatred … for Trump is so great as to disconnect his moral compass.
Trump has an obvious penchant for doing this to people … perhaps just certain people. The only common denominator for such vociferous pols, to me, is that most of them have already taken a knee to China.
There will be entire libraries written in the future trying to unravel this strange social dynamic.

I believe the consumate politician sees that Trump will lose again in 2024 despite all GOP efforts to quell voting. The ranks of those who actually believe the Big Lie are getting smaller by the day. New revelations about the handling of official documents further points to the criminality of DJT and his minions. The smart ones are distancing themselves now. Watch for a torrent of defections in coming weeks. I have to admit that I will enjoy watching the perp walk with DJT in chains and an orange jump suit.
