Chagrined

For the first time in my adult life I am profoundly ashamed of my country’s leadership. — Fletcher

Afterward: Just heard that the NY Times is reporting that, instead of the 300,000 troops that Biden and Milley were reporting as the strength of the Afghan army, there were really only 50,000 vs. the Taliban’s 75,000! That’s a pretty significant fib!

STAND UP FOR LEADERSHIP!

That's how some of us felt when Nixon had to resign because he was a crook. I guess we all have different tipping points. Isn't it amazing how corrupt Afghanistan got in just 8 months. After 4 years of solid US leadership?

Nixon was a crook .. but, by today’s standards, a pretty small-time crook. And his resignation gave our media the power that they now use, unchecked, to basically run our country … into the ground. Were he alive today, I wonder if he would regret his opening to China?

My moment of shame was just a year ago when Trump "negotiated" to give the Taliban legitimacy, to release 5000 imprisoned Taliban, and to set a final withdrawal date of May 1021. To anyone that wanted out, the writing was on the wall. Joe was left with the terrible job of ripping off the bandages on schedule.

This comment is why it is called a “syndrome.”
