My mother's name was "Germaine." You might recall that the cottage-name I had hanging in the window at the Peaks Island cottage was "Ger-Maine".
I find your use of her name in your blog entry to be unnecessarily offensive when you are trying to say "germane."
When I entered it, spell-correct changed it to a capital G. So it looked it up and it was right being of foreign origin, I suppose I should have italicizes it. But, since you are offended, I'll lower-case it.
I am also offended. Walnuts are among my favorite nuts. I insist that you change the references to "Brazil Nuts."
Thank you. But now you have "germaine" which means 'of German origin' whereas you are it seems looking for "germane" meaning 'relevant'. On the flipside, there is an intriguing liquer named "Saint Germaine"
