Social Sandpaper

President Trump's interpersonal style is to keep interlocutors off balance with insults, half-truths and hyperbole  ... whereas the media and many Democrats believe that this has been their God-given advantage. This seems to be the basis of much of America's current societal friction. And, since neither side is likely to change their sandpaper styles, we are likely due for a stressful number of years ... that is, except for those who understand this dynamic ... like much of middle America.

Well, I suppose we are getting somewhere, when you admit that Trump is a liar and a buffoon. But to dignify his "style" as an intentional strategy is to apply lipstick to an ugly, snarling pig. The backlash against his presidency will soon be seen in voting booths. Middle America is not as dead-brained as you may think.

I don't think I said he was an intentional lar. If Corjer thinks he can out-insult Trump, he wasn't watching Rubio in the debates. And lastly, is Trump any more outrageous than he was during the election? The American people discounted this behavior because of what he was promising to do. So far he is doing what he can and beginning to convert the swamp. I'm sure many would want him to be more genteel ... but I suspect his base is still solid.

That 's "Corker" ... And if you believe you understand Middle America from the bottom of the People's Republic of Mass well ...

So Ted Nugent or Sarah Palin would be even better representatives of Middle America.

At some point those members of "the base" (who are not billionaires) will need medical treatment, wonder why imported products are no longer a bargain, lose their mortgage interest and state tax deductions, etc. Maybe they will wise-up and ask, "How is Trump making MY life better?" Then, watch for le deluge.

Middle America should expect POTUS to go to church on Sunday, to drink beer with his buddies, and to eat his steak medium rare without catsup. But not...
