Hell Year

Fraternity initiations used to have something called "hell week" ... when most of the pledge hazing was concentrated. President Obummer is in his last year in office and, knowing that he won't be impeached no matter what he does, has decided to put his American "folks" through hell year. He has started this punishment by basically telling the United States border patrol to take the year off ... see: Washington Examiner Story. Here are a few lines therein from Brandon Judd, President of the National Border Control Council;s testimony :
The "go free" policy has prompted thousands of Latinos to cross the border, and among them are hundreds of criminal foot soldiers.  Immigration laws today appear to be mere suggestions. There are little or no consequences for breaking the laws and that fact is well known in other countries. If government agencies like DHS or CBP are allowed to bypass Congress by legislating through policy, we might as well abolish our immigration laws altogether,
If you didn't follow the "criminal foot soldiers" link, it was referring to MS-13. a growing scourge of Central American gangs that are taking over many neighborhoods across America ... see: Boston Globe Article for the local ones. But can we assume there are no MS-13 gangs in the area of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington,, DC?

This dereliction of duty is but one element of Obummer's final farewell punishments he is visiting upon America. Others include his Paris Climate Conference, his $10 per barrel tax on oil, his radical Muslim outreach program, his Iranian appeasement, and I am sure he has many more unpleasant surprises in store for us through the remainder of the 2016 hell year.

His parents would be proud ...

The British Dichotomy

In an uncharacteristic non-Dartmouth-related post, Joseph Asch recounts Winston Churchill's courageous words and deeds in resisting Nazi Germany's aggressions leading up to the Second World War ... contrasting them with President Obummer's appeasing actions surroundong his Iranian nuclear capitulation ... see: Dartblog Posting.

I suppose we now have a clue as to why Obummer, in one of his first actions as president, had Churchill's bust removed from the Oval Office,

And, on a more personal level, even as a young boy, I can still recall my dismay as the British electorate jettisoned Churchill from the office of Prime Minister shortly after the war was over in favor of that twit, Clement Attlee and then later that fop, Anthony Eden. The national psyche of Britain exhibits a clear dichotomy ... rising to greatness in times of crisis ... only to mortgage it all as soon as leisure permits.

Do we see a parallel psyche here in the United States?

Record Warming

Even though President Obummer, with dry eyes, says that 2015 was the warmest on record (from 1979), he is not entirely telling the truth. In fact, last year was the third warmest in satellite-data history after 1998 and 2010 ... see chart above and Daily Caller Article. (This is satellite data which is, by far, the most reliable.) And as clearly can be seen, the driving element in these warming spikes has mostly been El Niño which was a factor last year ... and may cause 2016 to actually surpass 1998.

Now, the reason for these warming spikes has predominantly been an ocean current and not carbon dioxide, so what are the climate Chicken Littles to do? Obviously, one or more of these tinfoil-hat wearers, will soon dramatically pronounce that the small increase in carbon dioxide that we have experienced has ... ta da ... been causing El Niño. So there, you skeptics!

The Oath

When our president twice took his oath of office, he swore to protect the American people from "all enemies, foreign and domestic." I can't believe that anyone truly believes that Obummer has fulfilled this pledge. Here are but a few of the instances where he has fallen down on his job one:

The Fast and Furious scheme inside his Justice Dept., his premature pullout from Iraq, his release of thousands of immigrant criminals, his unwillingness to identify the radicalized Muslim enemy, the series of terrorist attacks inside the U.S. on his watch, the release of hundreds of terrorists from Gitmo, his open borders policy, his tepid response to the ISIS threat, the Bowe Bergdahl prisoner exchange, his politically motivated "surge" in Afghanistan with no chance of success, his embracing of the Muslim Brotherhood, his sponsoring the Arab Spring and its dire consequences (Egypt, Libya, etc.), and his capitulation to Iran on their nuclear program/sponsorship of terrorism.

Enough? (There are lots more.) Obviously this man then had scant regard for this oath ... or the Book upon which he swore it.
